Totally agree that time can be a factor on shoots. I've used a fully kitted out edelkrone slider before and whilst very good, the time it takes to set up is crazy. I've now switched to the ifootage nano and has become my go to slider. Quick to set up and easy to use and does 95% of what I want a slider to do. The Zeapon Micro 2 seems to fall into the same category. Nice piece as always.
How're you finding the nano?
@@candyartstv I really like the nano as it suits my type of filming. I use it mainly for interviews so the built in pan axis and the fact it’s so easy to set up is great. It doesn’t have the same weight capacity as the zeapon in the vertical axis but so far so good !

Odd question - but what macro tube did you use with your 70-200? I’m as interested in it - perhaps more - than the slider. 😏
Brilliant as usual! Will you be making a review of the Sony A1? With 8K I thought might be useful for digital pans and zooms in post?

Excellent stuff Paul! You cracked me up several times with your visual humour plus your signature brand of subtle British humour! On the serious side, it looks like a good bit of kit , I was especially impressed with the true vertical tracking possibilities. Is it quiet enough for a typical indoor sit down interview and does it run at least a couple of hours on a NPF 970? 👏🏾🤣🙏🏾

Yes... this runs for many hours (more than 10) on a F-970. I've just bought the remote panning head for it now and the combo works really well. I will do a video at some point.

Cracking toast Grommit! (Not clear on what the "plus" part is versus the Zeapon rail+motor I've had for a while - and been happy with. The app has had the indications of a pan head for more than a year. I'd love to buy one from Zeapon if it coordinates with the rail, rather than switching to the iFootage Shark Slider Nano, so here's hoping the pan head finally rises from the mists of rumor some time soon.)

Just bought my pan head and I can confirm they play very well together. Easy setup and control from the one app on my phone.
@@extrashot Thanks for the follow up and letting me know this had been released! I had given up on Zeapon releasing this and was planning on picking up the iFootage system. While Zeapon's English-auto-translated website includes stuff like: "Reviving the Inception, We are Better" it looks as though they've done a nice job thinking this system through. I always enjoy your videos, but I very much appreciate how much time and effort it takes to produce great stuff. Thanks!

Love the short clips with this slider! How on earth did you get 1 thumbs down. Maybe it was on accident and will be reversed.
I get mine tomorrow and see many creative ways to use this slider.
I also heard there might be an upgrade of the E600/E800 or an Plus extended for more travel distance.
This one is portable and they cleaned up the issues on the original Micro 2.
The upcoming upgrade of the E600/E800 or Plus extender will be useful for interviews or shots that requires more travel. Hope they can make the U shape support arms can be better implemented for fast adjustments if different angles and shots need to be taken.

How you getting on with yours? I've just bought the panning head and they work very well together. It's so easy and quick to set up.
But Bertolucci wants the loooooooong track!! lol. I think I have the same light meter. :). Seriously I hope the are smart enough to put a nodal L style pan tilt head on it. Also, would like to see some underslung options as well. Emulating drone style shots on the desktop. Someone has to take the slider to the next level. Also, I feel bad for eldekrone who kinda had this idea happening about eight years ago.
True... and the pan heads look remarkably like the eldekrone too!
As others have mentioned here, I appreciate your observation about the distance between our eyes as all being necessary to enhance a shot. Thanks for the low key review.
One question: how noisy is it? Do you feel comfortable with it during an interview?

To answer your question from all that time ago.... really quiet. No problem in an interview situation and I use it regularly.
@@extrashot Thank you, worth the wait, because in the meantime I took the observation about the truly minimal amount of camera movement required to heart and saved 500 bucks and 2-3 kilos.

Ifootage shark nano slider or something like it is its name..... I absolutely love it.... and you don't need the remote head 🤫.
I have tried the iFootage Shark and it's very clever... although the setup time wound me up a little!
@@extrashot I'm debating this vs the shark. I have an FX6, therefore payload on this is appealing. Is the 'travel distance' similar? Great work as ever...
@@extrashot set up time? I can not compare that but! Because I am using it with ifootage's clever tc7 tripod ....my set up time is about a minute. From backpack to recording.
@@FoxwellFilms The Shark has a slightly longer 400mm travel on a tripod, 200mm on a desktop. It's 3.5 KG limit horizontal and 2.5KG Vertical. It included a pan unit too.
I had a try of the larger unit (800E) and i couldn't work out if there was an 'ease in/ease out' function so the move doesn't just start and then stop. Do you know if the moves ease in and ease out? Many thanks
It doesn't ease in or out when I'm manually pushing the buttons on the motor or the app... but when I set it to loop or travel between memorised positions then it does smooth the start and stop at either end? It would be good to have some control over that rate of easing?
@@extrashot many thanks for taking the time to reply and i look forward to your next video. in regard to the Zeapon slider, i've had to return the whole unit. In what can only described as scrambled thinking, the pan unit doesn't completely work in tandem with the slider. When the pan unit reaches a way point it gets confused and gives this odd wiggle before returning to its given course. Zeapon have said they can't sort the problem out which is bonkers. Ho-Hum, back to square one!!
It seems to be almost double the price in uk Amazon in comparison to the rest of the world? It’s to expensive for a one direction one aspect slider in comparison with others that do the same for considerably cheaper with same quality and functions. Great video btw

ended up quite a bit cheaper than UK Amazon could do.

You're right, their web site is rubbish. I've just bought the motorised panning head for mine at www.cinegearpro.co.uk. They seemed to stock all the Zeapon gear in the UK.
This is tidy and to the point, no unlimited rambling and wasting time with arbitrary shots irrelevant to the subject. Are you responsible for giving the world Philip Bloom? I don’t get it, that’s how I felt just coming from his video. After a number of those one assumes more learning remained for Phil before shedding the news cameraman title in favor of world renowned cinematographer filmmaker. Maybe the videos are fun for the first few minutes? 😕
I've known Philip for many years but can't say I gave him to the world !!! 😂
