Oh my what a beautiful garden!! That perennial garden is amazing ! What I took away was repeat, repeat that rainbow of colour. Thank you for taking us along. Can’t wait for your next video . 💐
Glad you liked it and I was happy to endure the rain! Weirdly, I quite like visiting gardens in the rain, no one is there and sometimes in bright sunshine colours don’t look so good!
Oh my! Thank you so much for taking us on this tour of Arley Hall Gardens! The colors are actually so much better in the rain because they aren't washed out by the sun. The saturation of color is so beautiful! You and Olivia have such a wonderful bond because of gardening. Your enthusiasm is contagious! 🥰
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. I agree with you the colours look better than on a hot sunny day, the colours weren’t saturated but we certainly were!! 🤣
Yes, I agree - the overcast/rainy days are best for garden viewing. I live and garden in arid, outback Australia, where the annual rainfall is very low (322mm or 13”) and the sun is always shining brightly - glaringly!
There were quite a few things there that I already have but was all for removing so perhaps need to rethink a few things. I did do a plan last year following the video I did with Rosy with plants that thrive in light, sandy soil. Arley’s soil is very rich (has been worked for 200 years!) and quite heavy the opposite to ours so things that look fantastic there struggle in our garden but I will definitely use a lot of the ideas and techniques Gordon spoke about. Lots of reflection is needed!
Indeed, WOW, beautiful gardens! The many Garden rooms & Herbaceous borders of Arley Hall did not disappoint. I love your commentary & hearing your surprise & passion at every turn thru your vocal inflections. Delightful! What fun you and Olivia have together. So happy she comes along. The rain was dreary as was the dragging camera perhaps because of the rain? Hoping you are both still in good health in spite of the weather. Thanks for sharing! Will look forward to your interview with the head Gardener…
I can’t believe this video has been seen by 5,600+ viewers and has only received 249 Likes! I love all your videos, especially the garden tours of stately homes, that I’ll probably never see in person. What is the name of the rose in the Shrub Rose Garden, at 21:13 please?

I think you need to go back in June when the roses are out .🤗
Yes indeed, a great reason to go again!
I was so excited for you each time there was a secret entrance in the yew hedge! What a fun and spectacular place❤❤❤
Yes it was!

I went once a number of years ago and remember being blown away by it. Lovely to see it again. Bet you went home with loads of ideas.
It really was incredible, I hope the footage did it justice and I am fired up with lots of ideas💡
Lovely to have you join us
Did the visit allow you to change your mind about plants? Are you now thinking about plants that you dismissed in the past?

Thank you so much
Our squashes and tomatoes have struggled this year here in Michigan as it’s been very overcast this summer.
Oh really, not just dull in UK!
Hidcote gardens are really what so many gardeners copied
I would love to visit Hidcote one day, it looks beautiful and Lawrence Johnston definitely inspired so many others!
@@MurphysGarden yes, please visit Hidcote with us - one of my very favourite English Gardens. I would love to see your video on that garden tour!
