There really are SO many. This seems to be the best preserved for consumption by the masses. But...this is what he delivered time and time again. I saw him after Sheik Yerbouti and before Tinsel Town. Listening to old shows, to me, makes it obvious that, at a certain point, this kind of perfection in eclectic entertainment was what you would expect from a Zappa band.
don't think that, there are some people with the same creativity as zappa but the music industry and the current state of life makes difficult to see it

And a little Holst in Call any Vegetable - JABFLA Zappa did this a lot. While he had the audience focused on the rock portion, he introduced them to a little Classical. A great way to introduce other music and composers to rock fans. Or even like in BTM. When it is sung, Oh Mien Papa. In the Earths Crust. Did you get that one? Did you get the link?
Golden moments 6:55 onwards. And... what telling-the-truth lyrics they were ... like "Brown shoes" or "Dumb all Over"... deeply touching .... and funny too "He really needs to squat on the cosmic utensil" lol
This is not as cool as the original version but that's okay, it's a fresh take with an excellent crew doing a grand version, and that folks is why we love Frank Zappa! He re-invents himself in every show.

this is played too fast...loses the swing or soul (probably there's better terms) of the album version. It feels like they're just wanting to get through it. Love the album/s.
One of the greatest Zappa concerts of all time, and that is saying something!!
I'm agree

I think about half the creativity in the human race died with Zappa.
And the other half didn't know better.

LOL fucking nailed it unfortunately

Man ... I love Frank , the coolest guy in Rock Story .
The more I hear Frank, more genial think his music
💖LOVE it, I’d give my right foot to go back in time to see this live
....and my left foot, tooooo!
That keyboardist has got it going on.
That's an excellent performance of this oldie and goodie.
The best eight-and-a-half minutes on UA-cam
I played this for my girlfriend and she broke up with me a week later. Damn you Tim McGraw!
That felt good. Thanks. First Zappa concert about 50 years ago.
How can we open a concert better than that? This is just HUDGE and SHINY !
I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched this amazing stuff
como lo amo.
y yo tambien, siempre
Just to see this composition played live so perfectly is terrifying
7:37 - 7:50 Who else loves this bit
4:06 Nothing like a bit of Stravinsky in the middle of a rock tune hahahah.
I was there
Marcel Vandergraaf I wish I was alive for it
Marcel Vandergraaf me too
Was alive but not aware of FZ yet...
Marcel Vandergraaf I was not alive
GR8! U Dutch? Then yes you were in Barcelona!!!! xDDD
F.Z das Beste der Musik
we miss you frank
Genius ! RIP FZ. thanks for the post , what a show !
"The Royal March" from Stravinsky's "Soldier's Tale" played by the band at the 4:00 minute mark.
Frank would be happy that you know that reference! Flew right over my stupid head
And Bartok's third piano concerto right after!
Thank you teacher!!

Can't wait the moment
To be up ⛟.
Thanks a lot for posting!
such an amazing song
the instrumental passage after "music is the best..." in this performance is a newly composed session, not the same as the rhythmic vamp in the album
It’s a medley of A Soldier’s Tale by Stravinsky, and Bartok’s 3rd Piano Concerto!
Yesterday I listened to the whole Joe’s Garage album. That’s disturbed amazing piece! But this version still makes me happier!
...and a bit of bartók right afterwards for good measure
amazing thank you for upload
Now that I got that over with I guess I'll just play my imaginary guitar again....

"Fuck all them writers with a pen in their hands". Yes globally true in 2024. Cheers to Frank the good conscience and fearless communicator.

I doubt there's a band around today that can pull this off.
Yes there is!! Uh . . . what's there name . . . never mind
There wasn't a band then that could pull it off apart from this one

It's nothing about being too young. Just listen to the whole album for the context.
Joes Garage. She does the wet Tshirt. Then she gets On The Bus with the guys from the group.

Eastman D ok
That's the genius of Frank. He revamped his compositions...sometimes in the middle of a tour...sometimes night by night.
That's almost part of the appeal. It's as if the whole song is being performed ironically.
Never play a song the same way twice.
