All you had to say was "Crafting timers" and I was immediately never going to play the game. Timers, for me, are infinitely worse than cash shops. It says, "I don't respect the limited time you have on Earth."
Then you would hate warframe as the forge has crafting timers. anyway EVERYONE Sadly it's not better than the beta..... Bunny is supposed to be hard to get...now everyone is Bunny..lots of bunnies running around...very common...jeez. the GUIDE lady use to be like her voice.... now she just types in the air like a cheaply programmed korean game.. The graphics were better in the beta....they did somthing I guess for universal compatibility.... They just had GREAT advertising. Wonderful advertising. Game feels like its a mobile and guess what? The game is only 30GB....identical to the beta size which brings up the major disappointment: I thought the game was going to be a large MMORPG but they only added a couple of extra regions...meaning that if you playedx the beta you played the whole game. This game is identical to a MMORPG on the Phone mobile in size, it's "unreal graphics.(Any game can be made using that engine...it's just an engine.) the UI and Marketplace items etc was suppose to be a fraction of what is in the beta but turns out to be the same with only a couple things added. I'm massively disappointed. False hope and promises and this game had sooooo muuuch potential. WTF for the delay of launch. They barely added anything to the game. Should of been released in Feb. Whatever... They tell beta players we get cool exclusive items for playing the beta and filling out survey: REWARD: A LOVE EMOTE.... WTF?
To an extent it is perfectly reasonable. If you are sitting and agonizing over a fucking ticking clock then thats probably a you problem lmao. Sure some of the components being a day+ just for the equivalent of a forma is extreme but for other things its understandable
People love shit games like this all the time. Brainless PvE with a monkey brain "numbers go up" progression system. This is the gameplay *OMG I GOT THE SUPER RARE MEGA RIFLE. Now I can do the same exact thing except 5% faster!*
The game should start easy because they want as many people as possible to play and get hooked in. Once you hit harder stuff they need you to die, scratch your head, then buy credits.
I agree with points about repetitive quests and inventory management, but to be fair warframe has a similar system with time gated crafting you can pay to skip, and the crafting times in warframe are longer. Crafting a new war frame requires you to first craft all the parts at 12 hours a pop, then assemble them for 72 hours. Overall I don't hate the game, not blown away either but I want to play more than my current 5 hours before judging too much.
I think that is one of the fairest assessments I have seen. I don’t like comparing games at launch to already established games because people seem to forget that all the games they mentioned had issues on launch.
@@danomaly8943 that's true as well. Even if the game may seem basic right now, as long as the game play is fun, they can build out content later. It's a live service game. War frame has 10x the content today it did at launch if not far more. This game could feel much less repetitive with far better quest variety if it survives a year or two and they re invest their earnings into development.
The game is a turd right now. Maybe it will get better but then again, maybe it won't. I choose to see things as they are, not as I wish them to be. Have fun with your 💩 game but don't keep asking us to take a whiff, damn.
It is like warframe and destiny 2 had a child... which shorty after been born fall of the stairs and they call it special 😂. I am sorry I gave this game another 1hr... sorry not for me
@@vampire7878The difference is that Warframe has a better gameplay loop to ignore the shallow things you’re actually doing. The story is actually interesting as well.
Thanks for the content Sam, appreciate your video as always. Dude. My friend lazybone recommended me this game and I had to tell him all about this review. Glad it’s free but I’m glad you’re giving the good people advice on where not to waste their time. Have a good one man! Happy late birthday
If this game had the Warframe F2P model I’d definitely play it, but it doesn’t so I won’t. If anyone’s curious, in Warframe there’s a huge premium currency shop for skins and classes etc as well, but you can unlock “prime” Warframes (classes) easily and then sell those to players for premium currency, yes, their premium currency is tradeable. Then you can buy all the boosters, skins etc you want without ever paying a penny.
Couldn’t agree with this assessment anymore! After putting 6hrs in, felt like I was running Destiny patrols over and over and over. The game is gorgeous, but feels like Anthem in terms of the same monotonous missions, un-exciting character abilities, and Lost Planet grappling system. I just didn’t find the experience enjoyable, as I was excited to play after seeing gameplay. Great assessment of the game!
Wouldn’t bother at the moment unless you are running your own teams playing with random players as you start getting to higher levels makes the game almost impossible to progress each area is only unlocked by defeating a boss but as you get further in your level is capped at 40 but the bosses levels go up to 95 and even if you get all your gear in shape you have to get lucky to have a group who have also sorted out their gear there is also a timer on the bosses so good luck as you wear down the boss get close to victory only for the timer to run out and game over start again the drop rates are also ridiculous so good luck trying to get certain pieces to improve your character and gear it’s a vicious circle of frustration for single players try it out but don’t spend anything until you at least get to the final boss
I just want to know why there are timers when you are grinding for materials that take awhile to begin with. Like this isn't a mobile game so why would they make it that I have to just stop playing and wait for what I want?
I do agree with you on the amount of inventory management you have to do. They should decrease the amount you earn in each mission because it does get excessive and can be tedious compared to other games; however, this is a free game. You either grind or you pay to progress, it's that simple. This is how grind works in these types of games by doing the same things repeatedly. I'm not saying that this game is better than the other F2P games, but this is just Nexon's way of doing it. Much love man.
@@stupiddamb4219 Every game has their issues. Nothing is perfect F2P or not. I just find it funny when people complain about the game they know they're getting themselves into in the first place. Complain about grind when the game is grind lol.
@@howlermike9814 I've played a lot of Warframe and a fair bit of destiny 2. Now Warframe DOES suffer from similar issues with monetization, new player experience, and repetitiveness, but this game is sooooo corny and unoriginal is crazy. The character designs are awful and it is literally "every east Asian MMO " looking characters both male and female. And don't get me started on the skins such your classical horny asian originals: OVERSIZED PAJAMAS! SEXY MAID! AND DRUM ROLL!!!! SCHOOOOOLLL GIIIRLLL!!!
It's a 2 clicks to clean up the inventory for the most part lock things that have 2 to 3 good options and boom that's 30 to 45 secs of inventory management for the most part dismantle gives you the currency need to level stuf and reroll weapons all the loot has a purpose in the games economy funnily enough.
Another thing you didn't mention is the art style. There is none. No eye candy. No cool locations. There's nothing in this game that i can't find anywhere else. I highly doubt that they had concept art. They just told the devs to "Make a desert." Or "Make an overgrown town." Absolutely ZERO creativity in this game. A single destiny destination has more character than this whole fucking game.
What you mean no eye candy? Jayber, lepic and Blair are all smoking! I haven’t really looked at the girls… but they definitely scored on the male side. Plus aren’t most the girls fully cladded and covered in body armour like bunny and sharen! Nothing revealing at all - finally!
Im not sure why everyone is saying warframe ( a game that came out 11 years ago ) is better than a game that LITERALLY came out today. This game has potential and quite frankly, i prefer this over warframe
@@GamerSingularity Ive seen many comments from you stating that a 11 year old game is better than a game that just came out. Thats all im saying. Every game has to start somewhere. Think back how bad warframe was what it came out.
Definitely has destiny 2 vibes but the grappling hook being an essential part of mobility is killing my enjoyment. Attempting to latch on to something and missing the first one messes you up for areas where you need both charges.
I've been trying to get the bunny outfit all day. The game says the part I need has a 20% drop chance. I've done that damn mission 17 times and I still don't have the damn item I need
It's one of the first things you do and it's basically handed to you. Notice all the bunnies running around? Notice who doesn't have a bunny? It's very likely a you issue because literally everyone else has managed it.
I played up to level 19 and can agree with most of your points. Definitely doesn't do anything exciting or unique. Why are missions broken up into 5 minute way points??? Way too much meaningless loot, and I stopped listening to any parts of the story after the first hour in. Because this is a free to play game I came into it with medium expectations. But with any free to play game (pc, console, or mobile) I knew it was gonna cost either all of your time or all of your money. I can see this game having a small cult following in the years to come but sadly won't make much of an impact in the looter shooter space. Good thing is all of the complaints can be addressed and improved upon. The real question, are the developers be able/willing to make chances based off feedback?
@@foxdorsey yea after a while i stop listening too all their storyline, just rushing through the story missions to see how fast do i am able to done all, theres few things who i wanna test myself about it, but the game is not crazy wellaybe just their pricess, in rest is meh, asian game who overcharge pricess, once human hopefully would be better, i played the beta amd i enjoyed even with tueir bugs
I will mention that the way the story missions are laid out is the same way that Lost Ark is laid out. go to area. Do quests. Talk to people. Repeat. every once a while do a dungeon and keep moving.
I have my problems with destiny but if you think 101 usd is worth a single character, well you have crystal meth issues. Then to compare this garbage to a game that's been around 10 years now ia hilarious. If you're trying to compete or beat destiny you can't do what they do. An apple is an apple is an apple. You can paint it orange it's still not an orange.
I was looking forward to the game. It seems like a niche steam game that somehow got a backing and just created this. I played during the beta and had a blast. Now I am playing it now it doesnt have the same appeal.
Geesh. I thought i was having fun. I was able to craft Bunny and the first ultimate weapon that i can't remember the name of yesterday (the weapon takes 4 hours to craft so i stopped gaming for the night there). But yeah at that point it did start feeling really repetitive where i was starting to wonder if it was actually worth my time or money as i was also thinking of getting the battle pass. I will admit that i skip most of the dialogue as the story is a little lame IMO. The odd thing about games being repetitive is that i have over 3100 hours in Division 2...and that has been mostly repetitive for 5 years but i still keep going back for more. I have not found another game where i can do that since.
The more I play it, it's feeling very Outriders. Which had its good points, but overall wasn't great. It's Outriders with Suicide Squad's grapple hook.
Having been play Warframe, I have to say this game did a pretty good job on release day than warframe did. But, Nexon isnt no DE and i know for a fact they will heavy monetizes the game.
warframe very first launch was doodoo but DE held it down hey was on the brink of bankruptcy the entire story of warframe of how it came to be is amazing and it kept improving and holds up to this day TFD launch was ok its rough but its ok needs work it took alot of stuff from other games and slapped it together but at it bones it aint that bad "not omg so damn good holy fucking shit!" its just only good and ok we will see if nexon can hold out
Finally an honest review. All these other videos I watch with these content creators probably not even being paid are literally saying the game is good. It's good until it gets boring. Thank you for letting people know that the game will become stagnant at some point.
I played 0.01 seconds after it came out at 0:00 AM Most games suckkkk due to greed and cheap programming...or DLC after DLC on a 11 year old game....becomes cheap thrilled. I made a video of Warframe vs the First descendant and you'll get my rift or you wont. the First Descendant is new and I think we all need that right now....a game thats like Warframe and Destiny 2 with Halo and Anthem. so yeah the cat fits in the rocketship we ready for mars?
This is not true only descendants can be earned. All character skins must be bought, and don’t get me started on the scummy one time use on the paint mtx.
I agree with everything you've said except for the loot part. Leveling and early game in looter shooters, you shouldn't be looking and analyzing all of your drops. See higher # equip higher #. Scrap the rest in 2 button clicks. You'll find better gear in 5 mins. There is a scrap all button that you can customize for simplicity. Aside from that, yeah, this game is hella mid, and that's being generous.
IDK as someome who bounced off of warframe at launch, enjoying the movement but feeling like the combat was lass impactful, anf who just didnt vibe with destiny im surprsed at how much fun ive had. Now granted i did just nolife this game for a week. Tsking breaks onpy to see friends and GF. But i found that i naturally unlocked things, and that i didnt have ro pay attention to the systems until i naturally started to pick up on them. I started to naturally understand a lot of the convenience of the main hub, jumping you into the different areas for raida and such. I havent needed to spend money to progress and ive got ajax, bunny and freya at lvl 33-35. Sharen just finished cooking and I've got the first part of Blair, who im actually excited to play. Playing bunny is fun as hell and actually i think teaches you how to play the rest of the game. Not everyone is based on speed, but i think so far everyone benefits from a highly mobile playstyle. I guess destiny and warframe are just too deep now and i feel like i often get carried here and im just starting to feel like I carry sometimes too when im grinding for items. Also the grind isnt that rough. Ive never had to grind much, even when leveling up a new descendant. I just go to the highesr level raid im at and grab my first 10 levels right there. Progress the story a bit, hit another and xue to weapons and such being account global i can honestly just keep going in the story (except that you get the poison descendant in the poison resist area, that was a little hard). All in all I'm expecting to bounce off this game afte ri level blair and sharen to max and beat the game. Ill see what end game looks like and wait cor updates after that. TlDR, the progression seemed fine to me.

@@JovanniGarcia-fc3lx I gave it a try. 10 - 11 hours of gameplay is enough to get a feel for any game. People defend Warframe, but they do the same thing. $80 for the new prime and $40 for the new cosmetics. The cheapest frames are $5, but those are the starter frames. Regular frames are $15-$20. There’s a complete pack with some extra platinum right now for a whopping $140. The only reason why WF isn’t getting destroyed is because of player trading. Color palettes are $5, but you can get the 75 plat pretty easy with a little bit of grind.
im used to crafting times from warframe, 3 days to craft a character not counting the 12 hours it takes to craft the other 3 components required. warframe just makes it fun because you can craft other things, and the gameplay is fun in warframe
I personally dislike the typical glamorous Asian gacha game-style design of EVERY character in the game, it also doesn't help that there is an insane amount of weirdo cosmetics like school girl outfits, maid outfits and other stuff like that literally on release day; seems like they knew exactly what kind of people usually spend money on these kinds of games and just went all-in day one. The problem with these skins is that for a lot of people including myself it breaks the immersion and the ability to care for the story, the world, and what we as players are fighting for, whenever there is a girl in an oversized dinosaur costume, or a sexy maid outfit running around on the battlefield. One thing is revealing armor, but this is just straight up a lazy cashgrab from the devs (they did not invent anything new or cool to add onto the lore of the characters with their respective skins, instead its the same boring model for thirsty gamers). The mobs are extremely boring and very borrowing design-wise and, honestly, so is the story/lore, except the lore is not borrowing, rather just uninspired af. Example: the first boss you'll fight is literally Urgot from league (its just a coincidence that LOL is extremely popular in Korea where the devs are), also a lot of the enemies you'll fight are very reminiscent of destiny and halo. Can't give an example on the lore being boring, because I legit could not care to listen after seeing the generic red armor overpowered telekinesis bad guy. Its nice to see cutscenes that don't look completely awful in a F2P game, but the animations in game... oh the animations. They're extremely clunky and feel like this was supposed to be a mobile game. The scopes on sniper rifles look terrible - straight up, so does the UI both in menus and in-game as it seems like it was borrowed from COD mobile. You can show me a F2P game that was made in Asia, without telling me it was made in Asia and I will be able to tell just by looking at the 2015 cheap mobile game ass UI. Ironsight (also a game by nexon) somehow had better UI than this shite, and that game's relatively old. At this point it is hard to tell if its the laziness, incompetence or both?? of the developers from asia, but UI design is literally their bane. This is a game that even if it gains popularity will do so not because its a good game, but because theres a severe lack of NEW alternatives in the looter shooter genre. And a starved player who enjoys these sort of games will likely play this and the devs will pray they get him hooked on the monetization of this game, cuz the way it works with these projects is that once any sum of money is in, one ends up in the sunken cost fallacy and just keeps playing even if its no longer enjoyable (same thing happens with time spent as well); and if u say that's not how it works and you personally would never, that you would righteously not spend a penny on this game like it (obviously yeah uhuh) doesn't give you an advantage, congrats you are only a bit smarter than the next guy who actually decided to waste money instead of wasting time on a project like this. I got mixed feelings from the sound design, its mostly fine in the effects department, that is until u listen to the characters speak and especially their catchphrases. They're unbelievably corny and this was actually the last straw for me (again, if u fw that I guess you're not invited to my birthday party, stay inside and there's a new episode of Demon Slayer coming out soon just for u). While the gameplay itself is fine (for maybe a couple of hours) the gameplay loop and the mission types are extremely boring (IMHO), coupled with the beforementioned boring enemy design it becomes a snooze fest very quickly. And that's considering I didn't finish the "story", I could not imagine how repetitive it would get without any other sort of stimulation besides from the same loot just different colors after one is done with the sad excuse for a campaign. As per locations we have empty abandoned city with nothing to do in it and then acidic desert (very cool and new), I think I am also missing one, but at least there's a simulacrum from Warframe where you fight bosses guys!! Anyway, I think if you're somewhat reasonable and know how devs scam players for their time and money and you know at least something about game design and don't need a constant flow of dopamine via different color borders around loot u acquire in a repetitive mission while playing a game, I suggest to simply pass by. 2/10 this game is secretly an advertisement of Warframe.
A maid outfit breaks the immersion in a looter shooter with a character named bunny in it who has some electrical ability thing going on ...🤣 The outfits are stupid yes ...but immersion 🤣🤣🤣
As someone who plays both Warframe and Destiny 2, I was curious about The First Descendant. However, Nexon is also well known for making their games very pay-to-win or dropping them entirely if they don't immediately see a return on investment, so I was already pretty skeptical. Maybe when I have some more free time I'll check it out. I'm not one to get hyped over stuff, so I'll just wait and see if things get better. Timers in games like Warframe aren't anything new. The heavier emphasis on inventory management sounds like a pain. This looks more like what I termed "first game syndrome," where all indications point to the fact that they made this game with only a cursory look at other games in the genre. It would NOT be the only game to have done so. So many live service games tried to copy Destiny without understanding that they cannot just constantly update their cosmetic shop, slap some tiny event that can be completed in under five minutes, and call it a day. Content drops need to be very frequent and fairly meaty; this is something that even Bungie frequently struggles with. I'm sure that if Nexon stick with it, the game can get better, but only if they stick with it. At this point, we have nearly a full graveyard of live service games with so very few successes. I hope that this game isn't going to join them, but it sounds like it may. Companies need to learn that live service is not the quick way to earn cash. It's literally tying down your studios to a single project for a very long time as they are essentially making an MMO with constant content updates, without the MMO moniker.
If your opinion is that, then i don't think you played enough warframe, especially when warframe first launched. They're literally the same game. Warframe had years to improve and wasn't good when it first launched. Thats the thing with f2p games like these. A lot people started this game thinking it was a triple a game, when in reality these types take time.
I did say I haven’t played much warframe and I was hoping for a fun looter shooter, not this. Warframe has been around for years so these developers should have taken note and did better for the launch of the game especially after having such positive feedback from the betas and tests
played warframe a lot (still do, its great), got around a small used car worth of premium currency by just playing/trading and all the stuff. I dont think i will begin the grind again in this generic meatgrinder.
Not surprising considering its another F2P game. I keep saying that despite the bad launch, and terrible DLC pricing we need more looter shooters like Outriders (and Borderlands) where the players time is respected, we are not nickled and dimed for everything, and its fun and replayable with tons of content to grind out. Its sad that one of my favorite genres in gaming has turned into only F2P cash grabs, and devs are not willing to actually make these types of games premium experience anymore (they see how much money they can milk from idiots). I personally refuse to waste any of my time of these F2P looters and I'm still waiting for that next big AAA looter shooter (or cool indie one) that is just a paid premium game with tons of content (no strings attached). The only thing I see keeping this genre interesting for me is Borderlands 4 but Gearbox and Randy don't seem to have any idea what they are doing anymore so...... (also division 3 in 2050 lol).
Someone was comparing this to Once Human and besides the 3rd person camera idk what they were seeing... Game is fun for a time waster I guess, but everything just feels insubstantial to use, even gunplay compared to Once Human is lacking. Good time waster but as a main game nah.
As someone who's sunk alot of time into warframe. It plays alot better then this "next generation" game. Your actually able to earn premium currency to buy everything in warframe. And getting parts for weapons and warframes. Feels way better when also upgrading them with the perk cards. The only thing warframe suffers from is a slow start up time for new players and the community doesn't really point out how to help new players. Took me too long for people to tell me that progress in warframe is tied to new weapons. Gear and warframe. Leveling them up upgrades your mastery. Gameplay is fresh with new warframe skills and abilities. Every cosmetic in the game is earnable. Making my warframe look like a cool knight character that calls in Laser air strikes and electric shock drones. Haven't spent a single cent on warframe but honestly. I'd be okay with doing it because the devs deserve the money considering slogs and grinds in warframe could be passed completely by selling your premium prime gear you don't want to other players. warframe recently added cross play. Cross progression and cross trading. Was kicked out of my old clan so i started my own and was able to to make a super sweet forest looking base with an underground man cave that I customized myself. Warframe definitely deserves the time spent if your able to have patience getting past the start. But it treats your time well if you care to put in the effort.
@@cartoonvideos5 its only boring if you have everything there is alot of things that make warframe fun but it does need endgame it had raids but got taken out hopefully it gets added back
@lonelyluxury. Unfortunately I am in the that category of "Have Everything". Can make Platinum in my sleep, buy any warframe on release, Riven mods, maxed arcanes, all important prime mods, etc etc...eventually it just feels all the same and nothing is exciting.
@@cartoonvideos5So Warframe is not boring. It's just boring to YOU because YOU have everything. So it's not the game, it's the gamer. Thanks for cleaning that up.
So far yes, but its still early days. It will take a month of grind to see if its able to stand the trst of time. I plan on playing the game completely free during this month and if its held up i will give some money to the company as a reward. Im.working on unny ultimate as i have her at lvl30 and im master rank 8.
I hope the grind to farm the Ultimate parts or Caliber isn't so bad, because I know technically it isn't p2w since you can just farm all of it but there is always a limit when it goes from pay 2 rush to pay 2 win. A decent pay 2 rush game can save you 30 hours of a grind, 100 hours even, for me the max is 500+ hours to reach endgame content. If the game takes over 500 hours minimum to reach endgame content and you are able to lower those hours with microtransactions then I will classify it as Pay 2 win. I still don't know much about how grindy it is to reach endgame content or be OP in this game so that''s why I am saying this. In Warframe, I reached Endgame content at around 250 hours, and for me that is a decent time and you can lower those hours by paying. But if this game takes it to the extreme with microtransactions then it's p2w. Some people have less time or more time so they have different limits from when it goes from pay 2 rush to pay 2 win.
i like the gunplay and the seemless join up with other players. The game is new and we just have to see where the devs take it. Until then i will continue to play it, but it's not good enough where it's at right now to replace the only 3 games i even play, which is D4, Eve Online, and Destiny 2. It's going to take a hell of a lot to get me to put these games down for something else.
@@GamerSingularity It's just feels fluid enough to have fun with it. I figured it being third person it would feel clunky. It's not overwhelmingly great, but it's not underwhelming either. I would say in a pure 3rd person run and gun situation. It's better than The Division, but not any better than Warframe.
This will quickly become the favorite game of all adolescent males. Not only because it includes plenty of virtual T&A, but because it does nothing to encourage or require cooperation with other players in order to "succeed".
Played for 3 hours today and the core gameplay loop is pretty boring and repetitive, especially if you're having to do a solo mission you'll really see how stale and chore-like it feels, I didn't even finish my last mission I just closed the game out lol
Nice vid, you spoke what many of us are feeling about this game. Started feeling this early on (2hrs in) and was already feeling like a boring loop at that point. Way too easy, no real challenge, also loot drops don't feel impactful nor exciting, in destiny 2 at least you feel good when you get a new weapon. Not here!...
yeah but destiny cost you like 400 to 500 usd for the full game and you add the the cash shop on top of that and warframe does the same with the paying for accelerating crafting
And this one will either cost you more than that over time or take 100x longer to do everything. Your storage space and external components have extra space you can buy with real money up to 1,000 extra storage slots which starts at about 75 slots that costs 25,000 premium currency which is around 400 USD
It is very early on and there is room for improvement, warframe has evolved over a decade and is probably the best looter shooter you can play, live service looter shooters are what they are, it will have its audience and I've heard nexon have a bad reputation yet if there's no constructive feedback the game can't build on itself, it does have the benefit of being built on a somewhat decent engine so who knows how it could evolve.
I was hoping this game was going to be good but nah it kind of sucks, kept losing connection as well. The gameplay doesn't feel like you hitting good compared to other games. The graphics kind of suck as well from what I was expecting. Will keep playing a bit longer to maybe see where it goes but its not looking good at all.
ehhh, its ok. I played for an hour. After seeing the battle pass and pricing of virtual currency I quit out and deleted. Some people will love it, but it is P2W or an endless grind. I went and continued my new playthrough of Dragon Age Inquisition, getting ready for veilguard.
I mean besides the shop you can use this video and just change the game to any looter shooter. its the End game content that keeps everyone hooked. Destiny anthem The division etc all are the same kill mobs kill boss get loot.
The way your explaining how to get decadents is exactly how you get frames in war frame do missions to get one piece then a different mission for another one craft each of those with materials you need to collect then once that's done 72 real life hours to craft the full frame I don't see the issue
Warframe has every single transaction that you listed as well. It also takes a similar amount of time to craft a Warframe if you don't accelerate it. The game might not be as well developed but this is pretty standard for free to play.
If people had your mentality towards video games, we would have an amazing hobby in gaming still. This is what is called a gacha game. It is doing exactly what you mentioned and it’s meant to quite literally make you a stupid debt slave with your time and money. Great review btw
i understand the criticisms i was in the crossplay beta and got bored at the fecking desert. but im in it for the long haul at this point....i get god damn tired of warframe and destiny at times dude. at this point if people want a game that respects their time go to GOG and Buy the Resident Evil Classic collection for 25 bucks right now. the first game is ready to go and the other 2 are still being finished up
Less than 24hrs and you've already signed up for the long haul... Sorry your gaming experience has been that terrible. Wish you better luck in the future. ✌️
Warframe is a better game from what I saw in betas BUT when you play Warframe a lot and it's the only game you enjoy you occasionally need a break from it. The First Descendent will hopefully be a game I can play when I need time away from Warframe.
I suggest trying solo games. Ones I really enjoyed recently are Remnant 1 and Remnant 2, absolutely great solo experiences and also fun with friends in COOP. Granted, theyre not free, but u seem like a reasonable person so don't fall into the timewasting moneyburning trap that this game will 100% become if not already is. Just look at the skins and the UI - its a crappy mobile game except u need a PC to run it. Make the right choice.
Im 60 hours in and I’m enjoying it yes it can be repetitive but I don’t mind grind games like this it’s not great but I find it a pretty good game, could be better tho. but I’m still going to play till at least season 1
In my video I mentioned mobile mechanics and this comment is about mobile mechanics being the use of premium currency to speed up research crafting timers, you’re the only person that has mentioned the look of mobile games and this game which isn’t what anyone else is talking about
The microtransactions etc is how they make money on a free to play. I'm sure Warframe does the acceleration thing? . I like the gunplay. But with just starting I haven't hit the issues you are commenting on. When it gets to that point I will move onto something else.😊
There’s microtransactions then there is this game which takes them to new levels and I’ve heard warframe does the acceleration thing so why would people want that again, these devs could have done this game without that and that would have given them a better start but they’ve added every way possible to make money, if they’re that desperate they shouldn’t have made a free to play game, I understand microtransactions but there are more things to buy in this game than there are things to do
@Born2Game They are optional.... nothing makes you spend, only things in the store not obtainable in game are the skins, if you play any game, even cod, you buy skins IF you want them 🤷♀️.
The game has a very short “honeymoon period”. It takes like 3 hours or less to see how shallow the gameplay loop is. I love Warframe and WF’s gameplay loop isn’t that insane, but the gameplay has a much higher skill ceiling for what you can do. I thought it was at least better than vanilla Destiny 1, but it shows quickly that it’s more shallow. Even Destiny in 2014 still has better mission design(which is saying something). I didn’t know the build time was even worse than Warframe’s.
Kept seeing this game pop up on my recommends. Had some free time today and finally decided to look into it. Asked myself, "who do I trust to tell me the absolute, unadulterated truth about the game"? And saw Born2Game had uploaded a "Worth Playing" video. 5 seconds in, I made up my mind. It's a hard pass for me. Don't ever change man. You're doing God's work 😂
@@averageatbestva yeah I aint waiting that long for THIS game to become good, besides with all the current mobile game-esque aspects this game is showing I doubt it will ever.
@averageatbestva yep but guess what if you copy a game that's been out for 11 years thats still 11 years on what to take and copy though if your taking stuff do it right when you had so much time
Metric tonne? No one has to have all the content. Its a third person looter like division in space. The cutscenes are awesome. You shouldn't expect to get everything you need to max everything out in a week. I dunno man. Seems like lots of games have grind. But perhaps you're just not for games anymore dude. Me and a mate completed wave 7 before getting the nod that we had to go back to grind and increase our dps. Just listen to yourself objectively. It sounds like you are complaining about 99% of all games. The exact arguments you make here can be made for literally any game that isn't a single player story game. It's a really fun game. Which can be played for free. With no requirement to make a purchase to complete the (main story) content. Did you even unlock hard mode in 7 hours? No mention how wild the Colossus fights are. No mention how kickass it feels to unlock your descendants abilities and figure out their combat loop to adapt to the situation or pull off a great co op lay up? Bruh and at the end of the day you can uninstall it with nothing lost. Sounds more like you are forcing yourself to buy all the content because you're a "creator" and just shitty at the price of having it all for content and for free means you'll have to no life the game to unlock it all and would still probably take a month. Just take a deep breath, have some free fun with a couple mates with abilities and complete the story and hop out. Thats it, its not that deep.
why isn't nexon just focusing on the finals ? they have one of the most fun, innovative fps games in years and they're barely even marketing it, and in the meanwhile i've got almost exclusively TFD ads on youtube for the past few weeks. it feels like they're sidelining a genuinely good game in favor of what seems to be a hugely underdeveloped destiny reskin that's a blatant cashgrab.
Personally I really prefer the 1 character style of having abilities you a pick between like destiny then the hero shooterish 4 abilities per character suit that warframe offers. I already dont play warframe for this reason. I would be open to trying this game even if it was bad if it was more a destiny style prog then a warframe one tbh but this is probably a no for me.
That's one of the reasons i don't play warframe. Your forced to level multiple frames and weapons to level up mastery rank just to get more space for mods, frames, and weapons. I'd rather focus on 1 character or class and maximize that class. This game is copy and paste warframe. I definitely agree with you 100% and i won't be playing either. I spent money in warframe thinking it was going to be more fun but it actually made me regret spending at all.
Thank you so much for this! How disappointing! It looks so good, but after watching your video I shan’t be bothering with it! I reckon you’ve saved a lot of ex Divisioners from wasting their time. Gutted is right! Anyway thanks! 👍
All you had to say was "Crafting timers" and I was immediately never going to play the game.
Timers, for me, are infinitely worse than cash shops. It says, "I don't respect the limited time you have on Earth."
Just leave the game on and do something productive with your time while you wait then
Then you would hate warframe as the forge has crafting timers.
anyway

Sadly it's not better than the beta.....
The game is only 30GB....identical to the beta size which brings up the major disappointment:
I thought the game was going to be a large MMORPG but they only added a couple of extra regions...meaning that if you playedx the beta you played the whole game.
This game is identical to a MMORPG on the Phone mobile in size, it's "unreal graphics.(Any game can be made using that engine...it's just an engine.)
the UI and Marketplace items etc was suppose to be a fraction of what is in the beta but turns out to be the same with only a couple things added.
I'm massively disappointed.
False hope and promises and this game had sooooo muuuch potential.
WTF for the delay of launch. They barely added anything to the game.
Should of been released in Feb.
Whatever...
They tell beta players we get cool exclusive items for playing the beta and filling out survey:
REWARD: A LOVE EMOTE....
WTF?
Mobile game tactics
Idk man, I never found them to be that bad, personally. I remember the time gates in older MMOs being exponentially longer than 3-4 days.
To an extent it is perfectly reasonable. If you are sitting and agonizing over a fucking ticking clock then thats probably a you problem lmao. Sure some of the components being a day+ just for the equivalent of a forma is extreme but for other things its understandable
You confirmed exactly how I was feeling after about 4hrs of play so I thank you for that. I don't think I'll be putting anymore time into this game.
I hate the "its free to play therefore it can be shit and the cash shop can be predatory" argument
People love shit games like this all the time. Brainless PvE with a monkey brain "numbers go up" progression system. This is the gameplay *OMG I GOT THE SUPER RARE MEGA RIFLE. Now I can do the same exact thing except 5% faster!*
shit.....that's wat I said
The game should start easy because they want as many people as possible to play and get hooked in.
@@captnclutch5768that's just it though the main problem for me is it's just so damn generic. I feel like I'm. Eating water soup or something.
The game is a turd right now. Maybe it will get better but then again, maybe it won't.

Thanks for an honest opinion brother. I appreciate the word from another customer. We have a duty to the public out there.

Thank you 👍
Finally a content creator who is playing the game like normal and didnt start off spending like $1000 from the jump to get ultimate bunny.

Just started playing it. Seems good so far..apart from xbox network going down for 5hrs. Be the 'last descendant' by the time I get back online lol.

Game is awesome and everything can be unlocked free with grinding of course. We've been playing it all day.
I just want to know why there are timers when you are grinding for materials that take awhile to begin with. Like this isn't a mobile game so why would they make it that I have to just stop playing and wait for what I want?
They just copied everything from Warframe, both good and bad things without any innovation.
@@sanguin3 I played a bit of Warframe and I don't recall timers after just getting the mats, am I wrong?
@@TheKrypticXWF only has build timers. The only timer now is day/night cycles on the open world levels and some bounty rewards are on a rotation.
Oh yeah just cuz its a F2P game its fine. This game is Diablo Immortal with guns wait and see.
@@stupiddamb4219 Every game has their issues. Nothing is perfect F2P or not. I just find it funny when people complain about the game they know they're getting themselves into in the first place. Complain about grind when the game is grind lol.
Are you really crying about inventory management in a looter shooter, that would be like complaining that a racing game has too many cars
They just told the devs to "Make a desert." Or "Make an overgrown town."
Absolutely ZERO creativity in this game.
A single destiny destination has more character than this whole fucking game.
It almost looks like they just get everything from the Unreal asset store, slap it on a map and call it a day.
What you mean no eye candy? Jayber, lepic and Blair are all smoking! I haven’t really looked at the girls… but they definitely scored on the male side.
Plus aren’t most the girls fully cladded and covered in body armour like bunny and sharen! Nothing revealing at all - finally!
Agree 100% the style looks super generic without any real substance. It's like what a 13 year old boy would consider "cool"
@@voidtheabyssalmind5638 Preach man. That was exactly my point too.
Most people won't care because their eyes are locked onto a jiggling rear.
Im not sure why everyone is saying warframe ( a game that came out 11 years ago ) is better than a game that LITERALLY came out today. This game has potential and quite frankly, i prefer this over warframe
It is said because it's the truth.
You don't have to like it but to deny it makes you beyond ignorant and uneducated in gaming.
Been playing warframe since closed beta and saw it evolve, all i can say is, after playing TFD, it reminded me of warframe early days.
Same. After 2000+ hours in Warframe, it's the same mindless grindy game, but it feels cheap and has zero challenge what so ever.
@@GamerSingularity Ive seen many comments from you stating that a 11 year old game is better than a game that just came out. Thats all im saying. Every game has to start somewhere. Think back how bad warframe was what it came out.
@@nathanalf3120 I don't compare apples to oranges, sorry.
Definitely has destiny 2 vibes but the grappling hook being an essential part of mobility is killing my enjoyment. Attempting to latch on to something and missing the first one messes you up for areas where you need both charges.
The tasks sound like they've been borrowed from Mass Effect multiplayer but without the charm.
Cosmetics are also on per descendant so you buy a cosmetic it’s only for that one character. You have to re buy it for the other characters.
I've been trying to get the bunny outfit all day. The game says the part I need has a 20% drop chance. I've done that damn mission 17 times and I still don't have the damn item I need
The bunny parts are guaranteed. You have to follow the quest line in the quest menu. If you’re not getting it then it’s glitched.
It's one of the first things you do and it's basically handed to you. Notice all the bunnies running around? Notice who doesn't have a bunny? It's very likely a you issue because literally everyone else has managed it.
After i got bored watched some tuber rave about how much there is to do and content. But if its ALL THE FRIGGING SAME what is the point.

Lol we have Destiny at home
I have my problems with destiny but if you think 101 usd is worth a single character, well you have crystal meth issues. Then to compare this garbage to a game that's been around 10 years now ia hilarious. If you're trying to compete or beat destiny you can't do what they do. An apple is an apple is an apple. You can paint it orange it's still not an orange.
Still mad destiny 2 took away my DLC and has yet to offer refunds to people who paid for the temporary DLC
Destiny is majority cosmetic. This is egregious monetisation and we should be concerned.
The Divisision 2-esque health bars on player is nice. If it aint broke dont fix it.
The shooting in this game feels like Suicide Squad.
Ouch
I was wondering why it felt familiar… lol thank you 😆
The more I play it, it's feeling very Outriders. Which had its good points, but overall wasn't great. It's Outriders with Suicide Squad's grapple hook.
Love the honesty. Saved me the headache 😴
Having been play Warframe, I have to say this game did a pretty good job on release day than warframe did. But, Nexon isnt no DE and i know for a fact they will heavy monetizes the game.
warframe very first launch was doodoo but DE held it down hey was on the brink of bankruptcy the entire story of warframe of how it came to be is amazing and it kept improving and holds up to this day TFD launch was ok its rough but its ok needs work it took alot of stuff from other games and slapped it together but at it bones it aint that bad "not omg so damn good holy fucking shit!" its just only good and ok we will see if nexon can hold out

the First Descendant is new and I think we all need that right now....a game thats like Warframe and Destiny 2 with Halo and Anthem.
so yeah the cat fits in the rocketship we ready for mars?
This is not true only descendants can be earned. All character skins must be bought, and don’t get me started on the scummy one time use on the paint mtx.
crafting gives me destiny 1 vibes lol.. 1 month to get a sword was wild
Destiny is fucking trash filth.

I’m glad I watch this video but I think I’ll still play the game of it just for fun plus I’m not going to judge a book by its cover I’ll probably give it a chance will I put any blood sweat & tears into the game no but at least I gave it a chance I’ll edit this comment & leave my opinion about the game tomorrow
Edit: I said what I said I was going to say I got to say this it’s better than warframe in warframe it takes longer to create a warframe character but my first warframe character I made only took 42 seconds to make & the loot it’s easy to manage in the game & plus it’s not like I spent 11hr into the game & still hook onto it say what you want not every player is the same every body is different it’s basically depends on the person that plays the game honestly I’m still going to play the game go through the story line & the boss fights there more easier to do with people in the game & most of the time your just going to be in a group of overpowered players I was barely able 😂 to keep up with the players in the boss fights also it just depends on what type the person is on the game & who plays it to me it’s fun but I do see what you mean about the mission be the same every time but the second part of the map they change it up a bit also I did feel that pain when after fighting the second boss I’m going to keep playing it because I haven’t played it the second time like you said so I’m about to play it the second time & see how it feels
$100 for an ultimate character .. no shit
There are cheaper bundles. Not defending it, but it's about $60 for an ultimate. Less than a WF bundle, but WF also gives you a bunch of platinum.

@@hernanc5646 Lol, what game are you playing?!? I had to grind for over two weeks to get Trinity prime BP on ODD back in the day.
@@TheSpongyMallard you're delusional, you can get a prime frame for ~5 dollars worth of platinum from trade chat
im used to crafting times from warframe, 3 days to craft a character not counting the 12 hours it takes to craft the other 3 components required. warframe just makes it fun because you can craft other things, and the gameplay is fun in warframe
I will never touch a game that makes me wait a day for a timer just to get a item. You would have to sustain brain damage to play that.
Gawd damn bruh, I need you to write my back to school essay 🤣
Glad you liked it lol.
A maid outfit breaks the immersion in a looter shooter with a character named bunny in it who has some electrical ability thing going on ...🤣 The outfits are stupid yes ...but immersion 🤣🤣🤣
@@JOEYZ-nq2gn yeah well there isn't one. What I am trying to say is that this is 'so out of place', I guess thats the phrase I was looking for.
Warframe has a rough start but was still fun and exciting.
This title is painfully boring and feels like it was made for primates.
@@GamerSingularitysame comment almost in every reply. Relax bro, let them (nexon) “try” to cook.
Well yea, AAA games and F2P games are two different things, comparing them is idiotic and makes ppl look uneducated
There is a bug on console, you cannot talk to Alpha, so now I cannot progress.
played warframe a lot (still do, its great), got around a small used car worth of premium currency by just playing/trading and all the stuff.
Warframe is so boring tho, no challenge

So far yes, but its still early days. It will take a month of grind to see if its able to stand the trst of time.
I plan on playing the game completely free during this month and if its held up i will give some money to the company as a reward. Im.working on unny ultimate as i have her at lvl30 and im master rank 8.
And this is why i enjoy this Man....He is gonna tell it like it is!!!!!....Lmaof
Can you please describe what is so fun about the "gunplay" in your own words?
@@GamerSingularity
It's just feels fluid enough to have fun with it.
People complaining about stuff warframe has been doing for 10 actual years is the funniest thing to me.
I was about to say this as well. It took me 2 days to wait until a gun I made was finished being made.
Played about 2 hours today got bored with it not going back to it ....
Played for 3 hours today and the core gameplay loop is pretty boring and repetitive, especially if you're having to do a solo mission you'll really see how stale and chore-like it feels, I didn't even finish my last mission I just closed the game out lol
How does it compare to the beta? It was really enjoyable but needed SO MUCH MORE content and more variety in things to do
Nice vid, you spoke what many of us are feeling about this game. Started feeling this early on (2hrs in) and was already feeling like a boring loop at that point. Way too easy, no real challenge, also loot drops don't feel impactful nor exciting, in destiny 2 at least you feel good when you get a new weapon. Not here!...
Thank you 👍
yeah but destiny cost you like 400 to 500 usd for the full game and you add the the cash shop on top of that and warframe does the same with the paying for accelerating crafting
I’m not waiting 10 years for it to evolve

I was hoping this game was going to be good but nah it kind of sucks, kept losing connection as well. The gameplay doesn't feel like you hitting good compared to other games. money goes into your inbox instead of directly into the acc, you claim it from the inbox.
The way your explaining how to get decadents is exactly how you get frames in war frame do missions to get one piece then a different mission for another one craft each of those with materials you need to collect then once that's done 72 real life hours to craft the full frame I don't see the issue
The issue is, why would I do it again if warframe is better in all aspects and this game will not last anyway.
Thank you 👍

Try Remnant 1 and 2 absolutely great games both solo and COOP.

@@Born2Game yea but this isn't candy crush or clash of clans, having " mobile mechanics" is completely different from it looking like a mobile game
