- Samsung TVs are great TVs, but they come built-in with the Samsung TV Plus app. Although these channels are free, they can be a data privacy concern. In this video, I'll show you how to disable Samsung TV Plus channels, and why you should use over-the-air TV channels, instead of Samsung TV Plus.

I don't get a disable option
This video literally saved us hundreds of dollars. We were about to buy a new TV because I could not get rid of TV+ and its presence did not allow a good scan of OTA channels. I had removed it, but didn’t pay attention to the ‘disable’ selection. Thanks!

When I go to the app and press down it doesn't give me any options. It takes me to a page full of things to watch. I disabled auto run for Samsung TV, but I want to remove the app from my home screen. Is that possible?
Hold down the select button while on the app, rather than pressing down.

hello, i dont have the remote, how can i get rid of the samsung tv plus popup? it freezes the screen and i cant continue watching the tv.
I don't know if this is true for anyone else, but on my 2018 Samsung TV, this no longer works. Samsung has removed the disable option for me, so now, it's just remove and cancel.
My Disable is gone too. Now what? I do not want to wake up to the Fear Zone!! I have turned on to go back to last channel watched in the Smart Hub but the Smart Hub is not so smart!
With me it just has the option to remove or move, it really sucks. Before I could just turn on my TV and it would just go to what I did last, like youtube or my nintendo switch.
I feel like I've looked over all settings and I can't find anything that's remotely close to getting rid of that app for good.
I FIXED IT!!!! So I finally found a way out of Samsung hell! I ditched cable and just have Internet so all that shows up under my source tab is that awful Samsung TV Plus which it defaulted to then next to that I have HDMI which has now shows as unknown, then my DVD player, connection guide and then about my universal remote! I moved over my tab from the TV plus to my HDMI tab and made that my default! Then go in to settings, to the left of the source tab, go to general, then down to Smart Features, and turn on Auto Run Last App and Turn OFF Samsung TV Plus!!! It works, no matter what I was watching before I turned off the TV it now comes right back to that when I turn it on!!! Take that Samsung!!!

OMG, thank you. I got an older Samsung TV in my man cave and those channels were annoying. To those who don't have the option, upgrade after restarting all over
this man should be paid by samsung no matter what model cant stsnd any tv with smart tv live app

No doesn’t work there is no removed disabled , when you pick on Samsung TV Plus and go down on arrow like he said.
I found a solution for people without disable option. Reset network settings and just don't connect to internet!

Is there a way to get rid of or at least change the sponsored banner across the top 1/3 of the screen? I disabled TV Plus, but the stupid banner is still there. I shouldn't be forced to see Lester Holt's disgusting face every time I turn on my TV.

Go to the app. While hovered on it. Long press and select remove. :)
no, you need to disable it. Removing only eliminates the icon. But the app and all the annoying channels are still there.
