Without the debris people would have wanted a more definitive answer. With it they can now add the implosion sound as a clearer answer of what happened.
Likely because the US Navy could not 100% confirm it and it would stall rescue efforts if they were incorrect. It’s reported that the sound was relayed from the Navy to the commanders leading the search efforts on Sunday. What would have been the outcome if they bet on a 99% chance the implosion happened due to the sonar detection reading a sound consistent with an implosion, but then the ROVs arrived and found a fully in tact Titan? Seems like this was the humane route when presented with inconclusive evidence.
I imagine they wanted to wait & see if they found something more concrete before blasting an implosion was heard. It could have been many things, & out of respect for the family, waiting until they were sure it was the titan was the right thing to do.
Because the military is not quick to share the capabilities they have unless they have to. Additionally, if you were one of the family members and on day 1 they were like well we heard a bang so they’re probably dead, that would be enough for you? Not me. You better search til you have something concrete.

Does anyone know why the episode isn’t on Spotify?

Can’t believe we got Kesha AND Fergie Turdy-Lou in the same week.
Great conversation about the submersible. Jackie asking the right questions- why wasn't the implosion sound reported right away?
Exactly!
Yes! The countdown on the news was so dramatized at the risk of traumatizing the families for what?! This info answers all of our questions…
