I saw the movie in the summer of '84 in a cinema Drive-in in Denia, Spain. Big screen, dark night with a sky full of stars. After the movie I was...speechless. Amazing movie experience. Best ever! :-)
I cannot begin to imagine what effect this movie and its soundtrack would have had on someone's mindset toward technology and government back in 1984.. It would have been so so so ahead of its time, that it would've had an eery effect on anyone who watched it, especially those who were scientifically and creatively minded..
You truly understand how vangelis made the music of bladerunner. When I watched the original film, the music, sounds, and ambiance all mixed together in a symphony of emotion. Vangelis said he made the music just by playing what the scene made him felt in the moment.
This is quickly becoming one of the soundtracks I’ve listened to the most. I have suffered from insomnia for about 3 decades, and this music just is perfect. I love it whether I’m awake or trying to sleep. Such depth, clarity, motion, emotionality and just an amazing mood. Perfectly encapsulates the mood of the film and stands on its own as a beautiful work of art.
Thank you everyone so much for the support and comments for this album, and to those who generously donated via Bandcamp. Almost done with my first album of original material and I've set up this new channel and will be posting weekly videos and meditation/relaxation/study tools starting in 2019. for the most part i find the internet to be an immense collection of random garbage, full of hate, violence, anger, unnecessary vitriol...but then every once in a while - not often enough! - i stumble upon something stunningly creative, or beautiful, captivating, truly awe-inspiring, or one thing that embodies all of those things at once. i've been enthralled with vangelis' blade runner soundtrack since its initial release. i've listened to it thousands of times. it has helped me cope with so much life throws at me. and i've invested hundreds of hours listening to other soundtracks/scores, alternative mixes, etc. still, surprises can happen. i stumbled upon this and what else can i say, this work leaves me incredulous and restores my faith in at least a small percentage of humanity. or in the common vernacular, you killed it. worthy of the highest praise, as demonstrated by so many other commenters on this page. well done!
As a full resolution Blade Runner fan... this is an absolutely superb addition to the original movie. Outstanding production and deeply immersive atmosphere. Thank you!

"I want more life" How did it suddenly become November 2019? That date somehow seemed so distant when I first watched Blade Runner in the 80's, while I was in college. I want to go back in time and tell that young guy a few things, maybe leave him a note with advice ... which suddenly occurs to me is a very "Twilight Zony" idea, like when Gig Young re-visited his hometown and discovered it was the summer when he was eleven. (Thank you for the sublime video.)
@@TheSupaaMan I'd want to say don't worry about being gay or about how people might react to your coming out ... concern yourself with being a decent person-- it matters more that you like _yourself_ rather than how others feel about you. Also: stop spending so much on cigarettes, and on booze. Give those up, and stay in control. Today Blade Runner is 45 years old, without knowing Ive been listening to this these past couple days. Timeless album thanks for your work Barrett & danke to the original film
This is beautiful.....best graphic/sound of any mix. 1982 when I was 10 started all this...the images never grow old and neither does the music.AMAZING WORK!!!!!!! Haloed
"We're not computers - we're physical." As a heavy consumer of all things Blade Runner I commend the creator on these artworks - beautifully organic, floaty, yet ice-cold and remote. Flawless.
This mix… headphones in and go to sleep. Absolutely beautiful to sleep to, thank you. I am obsessed with blade runner (always have been) and I am always on the hunt for ambient mixes. This is a wild mix weaving from one ear to the other. Thanks again… I’m going to end up burning this as one long track to a cdr so I can play it on my stereo and zone out.
"enhancing" ? Thats an exaggeration .. These remixes are good, but does not reach the same level as Vangelis's original tracks by far ... Nothing can "enhance" the original tracks, Vangelis's works for Blade Runner was mind bogglingly beautiful.. The more appropriate terms would be "adding to" ... there are always great new tracks inspired by the original tracks created by talented new musicians ...
both the soundscapes and the moving images are outstanding works of art .. the way the sounds blend into the ethereal and yet infinite feel of the cityscape .. it is like being able to pause the Blade Runner film and then entering the scene and being able to observe every detail, slowing down the pace, unnoticed. thank you so much for creating this!!
This should be playing in the lobby of a Blade Runner retrospective art show in some big public art gallery with big floor to ceiling images from the film.
The original bladerunner movie flying cars etc has now come to life.! Including self driving cars and flying cars. This mix nicely done the best of the best music in the movie!

The part at 2:31 where we hear Rachael: "Do you like our Owl?" followed by the eerie suspenseful music that has been superbly mixed here really gets to me because I can finally feel what Deckard felt when Wallace tempted him. Here is a man who fell in love with someone he was not supposed too. A forbidden love that had ramifications for many people. And to save both his daughter and Rachael he leaves because that was his part in the plan. After thirty years of solitude- hiding away from those that want to kill him- he comes face to face with his worse nightmare; the type of man he knew would come after him and his child. In that moment- when Wallace plays the Voight-Kampff test that he used on Rachael all that time ago- you can see it in his eyes and- at least for me- you can feel it in this music. He remembers that events that led up to him having to leave her, and eventually lose her. "Is it the same now, as then? The moment you met her. All these years, drunk on the memory of its perfection..." -- Niander Wallace to Deckard.
