Bluetti AC200 MAX HONEST REVIEW NOT ENDORSED! VANLIFE accessory or over priced lithium battery?

  • WE FINALLY HAVE THE CHANCE TO PUT A BLUETTI PORTABLE POWER STATION THROUGH ITS PACES, THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL POWER STATION BLUETTI SELL. IS IT GOING TO BE ANY GOOD FOR VANLIFE OR ARE BLUETTI MAKING POINTLESS OVER PRICED LITHIUM BATTERIES IN A BOX?
This video is not a paid endorsement.
We are currently working on a really cool project and part of the build is to incorporate the Bluetti AC200 MAX into the build of an off grid coffee trailer. So while we had this thing sat in the workshop it would be rude not to see what all the fuss is about. Bluetti, along with Jackery, eco flow and a whole host of other power banks are flooding the market now and I really wanted to see if they were worth the ludicrous price tags.
At just under £2000 this Bluetti AC200 Max is the biggest and most powerful option that Bluetti sell. Boasting a large lithium battery and a 2000 watt inverter, it’s certainly got the credentials, but can it stand up to the test?
In this video we put the Bluetti AC200 MAX through its paces one to show you guys at home how well it will perform in a real life situation, but also to ensure it’s up to the job for their customer and their off grid coffee trailer.
If you’re planning on buying a Bluetti, Jackery, EcoFlow or any other off grid power pack then check out the video and see if you think this honest review gives you the confidence to make that huge investment.

I have the AC200P, have been using it for just under 2 years. Love it for what I use it for... keeping a fridge going in my truck and keeping my internet up 24/7 (Starlink) when I am out camping. I have a 1000W inverter running from the truck alternator that can charge at 400watts when I drive, easily topping off the Bluetti for a 12 to 14 hour overnight that usually only runs me down 40 to 50% keeping my food/drinks nice and cold and internet up and going. Yes I could unplug the Starlink but never been an issue with battery life so all is good. Yes it's a fairly heavy beast, but does what I need. I charge laptops, run a cell booster, phones etc... all in a days work for the Bluetti. If i was livingin a van or RV, yes I could build a nice system for the money, but for my needs, it works great.

Offcourse you can use this in a campervan, if you link directly the 12v 30 amp output to your campervan fusebox..and get rid of the complex overpriced victron system..plug and play, deplug it easy and charge it anywhere you want it outside the van. That is for me the biggest advantage!

this is different than a diy kit, its portable for 1, yes it might be heavy, if so, get some exercise. for 2 it has enough inverter capability to be portable/backup for a shed/house/work/2nd office and installed in a van/4x4. for 3 can be charged in vehicle / charge point / grid, can also be charged from anything else. its also expandable. i will be buying this (with extra expansion batteries) vs a DIY install.

My mate uses one to power is caravan AC. The van has DC and things like AC only work on shore power. So box plus panels allow him to fire up the AC when outback. It’s good kit

I have one of these as a backup source for my 5rh wheel trailer, perfect for running AC power when campsites only have 6amp hook up (Europe), expensive yes but it's use as an all in one system for reliability of power has been perfect on a 6 week trip around Italy.

To answer your question on why you would want one for camping, one answer is for charging electric mountain bikes. EMTB batteries are on average 625 to 900Wh, so with one of these you can have a full weekend of mountain biking off grid in your tent. Wouldn’t pay £2k though, that’s daylight robbery

Aren't these things aimed at Bushcrafters? They seem to carry everything else with them.
One could be useful for a door stop though.
Thanks for sharing Lee and keep on smiling

You’d think bush crafters would run two sticks together to make electricity or something wouldn’t you? 😂
I feel they have a use somewhere, maybe filthy rich people wanting to charge their Tesla who knows.
      Thanks for watching Barry.

For a van, it easy for those without the skull, nor time, to build a power system.

can this be coupled to non Bluetti standard Chinese solar panels? I heard Jackerys don't which is a shame as branded panels by these solar power station suppliers cost multiple times the price of non branded panels of same specs.. thanks

LiFePO4 batteries within BLUETTI AC200MAX don’t have any cobalt, there’s 100% more cobalt in modern smartphone than this product, agree jackery, EcoFlow & older last gen lighter solar generators did use lithium & cobalt just like laptop batteries with far less life cycles 500 vs 3,500 in latest versions by main market leaders. LiFePO4 far safer & wouldn’t buy anything less.

I bought one a month ago, and Bluetti has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with! They refuse to send me a new AC wall charger. My AC200Max AC charger is damaged right out of the box and they could care less. Don't waste your money in this company. They will rip you off!

Wow! The price of these things you would expect decent customer service at least!
Another reason not to use these over priced batteries in a box!

These things prey on folk being scared of doing it themselves. I had never built a battery in my life, a few vids and some research and off I went. 290ah 12v Lithium battery (self built) + 60A mppt solar controller + 3000w inverter (6k peek) + 2x300w solar panels. All for a tad over £1200.
Your unit boast 2200Wh (approx 180ah) which is good but not as good as 3480Wh my battery gives. I have a split charger, not installed as never needed. Fridge is on all day every day, microwave, coffee maker, sound bar blah blah and the battery has never been below 50% although it can go down to 20% easily.
DIY, it really isn't that difficult.

    • @simplycampervanconversions
      @simplycampervanconversions  Рік тому

Exactly, these things are just so pricey for what you get, I would have your system over this any time and for a fraction of the cost.

@@simplycampervanconversions To be fair, those prices were during convid but before prices shot up. My van does look a bit different with 2 mahoozive solar panels but even on a cloudy day I have no worries. If you haven't already, get yourself a 3D printer to print all the little bits ya can't buy that make all the difference. Keep up the good work fella.

@@masteragario3335 I do have a 3D printer, still getting to grips with it.
We’re currently setting up a room to print in as I believe some of my issues are a draft from people coming in and out.
Once that room is done I’ll be getting back on it and printing some more parts.
