- Scott Foster, a 35-year old accountant "emergency goalie" stars in his NHL debut for the Chicago Blackhawks. Foster is part of a crew of recreational goaltenders who staff Chicago's home games in case of emergencies for either team. Foster was pressed into action when Chicago lost Anton Forsberg and Collin Delia to injuries, and the former college goalie stopped all seven shots he faced over the final 14 minutes of the Blackhawks' 6-2 victory over the playoff-bound Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
Scott, if you are reading this and thinking "How big is this?" - I am watching this in Austria (Europe) and have salty eyes, because this is so living the dream. Can't imagine the next game in your recreational leauge :D
+1 Scott, Latvian living in Russia calling here! You were great, and your story is truly inspirational!
Cheers from Ecuador! Scott ¨The Accountant¨ Foster.
Watching from Buffalo ny

Scotland. I was a massive Blackhawks fans in the days of Jeremy Roenick and Chris Chelios. Top marks to Scott "Ed Belfour" Foster. Enjoy the dream my man.
I am telling you if they make a movie outta this guy i would watch it
Same😂
I'm watching this in Lithuania. Damn you were good. The goalie is alone against a thundering herd who wishes to smash the puck through your front teeth if need be. Alone you were a rock solid wall. Your not just an accountant, your an NHL goalie for a good team. Stand tall.
Avs fan here figuratively standing on my feet, cheering for Scott Foster. LOVE IT!
As a lifelong hockey fan this is an awesome story!! So cool to see what in reality is just another fan get to live this one in a million dream.
Best story of 2018 so far!
My dad always says: You need a good accountant. Now I know what he meant.
I've never watched a hockey game in my life, but have sat here and watched his highlights ten times. Humble and there to get a job done. Nicely done, Mr. Foster.
Good saves Scott..
Congrats on your debut, what a story..
GO BLACKHAWKS
I want a Scott Foster Jersey!
Wow...he must've literally told someone to hold his beer. Way to go, Scott!
I sure hope he did :)
This guy is like the “Joe Namath” of football 🏈 after winning the Super Bowl with the Jets..........
That was an outstanding fourteen minutes. He beats the fifteen minutes of fame.
Great job.......... too bad that these clips are not longer....... this is a feel good story.
That is so great way to go Mr Foster.
This is awesome! I hope he gets his due, Oprah, Ellen, movie deals, a tryout, the works!
Billy The Kid keep away from hollyweird
Billy The Kid To get a lifetime supply of hockey pucks, Movie deals?
Sounds like a Disney story.. :-/
Scott Foster, accountant by day, hockey god by night
Hes a legend now
Seven saves.... dreams do come true.
How cool is that? :)
I guess some heroes don't wear capes
Fabulous. But can he type?
you did an amazing job
Coolest story of the year. Bar none.
Still a legend
Didn't Collin Delia also have his first NHL game on that night and he played really well until he got injured... He should get some recognition as well.
Delie got the win, and is on a pro contract that pays him a very nice chunk of change. All Foster ever is gonna get is whatever he gets out of the fame and exposure from the game.
What a story!
Blackhawks legend
Q's bullpen is the best comment ever.
This is the kind of stuff Hollywood makes movies about.
I seriously hope the Hawks sign him. He deserves it after that.
And these emergency goalies are probably the one people who have their name on many team jerseys. it amazes me how fast then can get a jersey prepped for them during a game
Some teams do emergency goalie tryouts every year or so so they might get their jersey at the beginning of the season and never wear it
The shop at the UC also can make jerseys pretty quickly if I a rush. So they can have one made with name and number in maybe 15 minutes or less.
They probably had it ready just in case after Forsberg got hurt.
Get in there kid!
Western is a good D1 hockey program. It’s not like he’s some scrub with no experience. Great story, but I think people are overlooking his credentials.
Hope he’s the team accountant now
And I thought being an accountant was boring...
To everyone watching from Europe- recreational league=beer league
Tell me this performance doesn't make everybody else on the ice look overpaid. And imagine being the Jets players who couldn't score on the emergency goaltender!
Cbs.....horrible coverage on such a cool event....shame on you
Does it surprise anyone the Blackhawks are in last place?
сцуко, мегачел!
I don't get it. Does he travel with the team? Is he an accountant for the organization? How can he have a 9-5 job if he travels with the team for 82 game season? Does he just attend home games? Does he attend practice with the team during the days? NHL has brutal travel season. This story has a lot of holes in it.
More I think about this story, it seems like shameless pr stunt by the NHL. How can a player be part time player and have a full time job? If he was part of the team he would get preseason action at least. Don't believe this guy is coming a beer league into live action in NHL.
He is an emergency backup goalie, there for either team in case a team needs a goalie to dress. He does not travel with the team, each team has someone like this at all their home games just in case, he does not practice with the team
He isn’t actually on the team either, he is just there every home game, sitting in the press box, always ready just in case for rare occasions like this, he needs to suit up and play. This guy does play adult hockey, but never played any high level before
By high level you're referring to NHL. Might want to take a look at the level he does play this cause the leagues he is in have a lot of us Olympics players and NFL players.
Tt Ss right. The guy is clearly a very good goalie, playing in men’s leagues with a lot of talent.
accent on "he eats free food " like that is restaurant food :)))) nothing to say news :))
