How to Repair/ replace your battery pack of Black and Decker Vacuum. Replace the Lithium pack with a 18650 cells . I used from old laptop computer battery you’ll need 3 cells for the repairs.

Hey Gene, those are just insulators, the entire body of an 18650 cell is negative up to the top (just the center flat bit is positive). These lower the chance of a short if something were to touch the positive top and negative rim.

Agree. Hard to see exactly what he was doing . I t looks like mine has the same 3 batter pack, How do I know what batteries to buy and reassemble it. Nice clear video though. .

For the idiots like me: make sure there’s no charge left in the battery before doing this. Something I touched near the battery made it turn on and the edge of the motor nicked my hand leaving a nice deep cut. Also couldn’t turn it back off so had to leave it running until it died.

New Samsung/LG/Panasonic 18650 batteries are about $8 + shipping. Good for 10 years or 500 recharges, whichever comes first.

If doing this, its best to jsut replace all 3 with matched new cells. All need same amp draw specs.
