Radiohead Reckoner In Rainbows Live from Basement 2008 Thom Yorke Jonny Greenwoon Ed O'Brien Colin Greenwood Phil Selway HD High Definition HQ Quality 1080p
jonny greenwood is hands down my favourite lemon player
I ve never see anyone playing the lemon like this. so intense
Daddy Dana almost as good as lemonhead.. :)
Colin is my favorite bottlist
Worth his weight in lemons I reckon
Kills it on the lime as well.
In my opinion, Radiohead's best attribute as a collective is the lack of ego. Honest, incredible musicians each with individual talent in their own right. Lovely song from a brilliant band.
except ed of course. but someone has to look pretty. (i kid)
Couldn't agree more, egoistic personalities can truly ruin collective creativity or even a band in the long run imo It is just amusing to see how deeply the band members compliment each other and just let music speak by itself
ripelivejam how dare you lol
In stark contrast, compare Radiohead to the myriad of utterly talentless "performers" like all the egocentric rappers and autotuned singers who think they are the sh!t and think they're better than "ordinary people".
prevents them from fighting and believing that they individually are the band, when they all get amplified by each other's connection.
"Hell yeah, I'm in Radiohead. This is the shit" - Ed O'brien 1:40
theyeastinfection Jajajaja
+theyeastinfection Best comment ever
But what happened to your yeast infection? Did it clear up?
+theyeastinfection
*slaps tambourine
Can I take my like back? I did not see the yeast infection thing.
nobody likes being in Radiohead as much as Colin likes being in Radiohead
maybe ed hehe
Colin imho is the true power od Radiohead. the connector. something like Kjartan is(was) for SR
Ed is a close second
This is one of the best live performances I've ever watched.
Thom's vocals are flawless.
+Abdulrahman Yousef I'd say his vocals do have flaws, which makes it more human and interesting to listen to
Kane Carter I agree with you :D could've used a better word
I'd say his vocal techniques are unmatched. when I started listening radiohead I couldn't see what was it about his vocals....but now, Oh my god his vibratos, I have never seen anyone do it like that. sounds like the smoothest water flow.
I love how Colin goes to his own little world on his bass.
it wasn't loud enough!! I wanted to hear more of it
Yes!! This. I strive to enjoy my life and be as happy as he is in this moment. Well said.
Music is my life, and seeing people moved as much is everything. Great UA-cam name BTW
That's how he is so good
look at Ed xD he's enjoying this the most xD
When life gives you lemons, make music with them.
+likeblackstars and knowing is half the battle. GI JOE!
Make life take the lemons back
thats the truth sometimes honestly
Yesterday Thom did woke up sucking on a lemon
One of the best performances in the history of music
in the history of anything
ain't it just. come back here once a week.
I desperately need A Moon Shaped Pool live from the basement
would be Wonderfull!!!!!!!
That would be the shit really
They should also redo all of their albums in the basement
@@eruslevi5714 I don't think so. The King of limbs got much better when it was played in the basement. I think it would have the same effect, and AMSP is already a good record.
Philipp Gra you misunderstood his comment
I like the way Ed exchanges smiles with Colin. Being part of Radiohead really has to be something.
I can't believe this is live. Thom's vocals are better than the studio version.
Their basement Nude is better than the studio version too, imo
victorko13 have more reverb there than in the album version
He's missing some high notes a little though
Mostly of the songs are fucking great live
I assumed this was mixed in some way. Fucking amazing!
I would date literally anyone who enjoy this as much as I do
let's date, it's one of my favorite song ever. But I think many people agree
Sooo are you two married yet?:D
Alokin Cicav hi
@Cookie Monster marshal? Eminem?
my dream is to see Radiohead live once more; but that time with the person I love close by
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music i've heard in my life.
jonny has to be the most unintentionally cool person ever. you can tell he doesn't try at all but he's just too fucking cool for his own good hahaha
I studied the lemon at Juilliard. But I was expelled for hitting too many sour notes.
No
I love this pun, and I’m glad I found it. I’m also glad that people like you exist, and I thank you for your contribution to my collection of awful puns
Jesus christ man...
Ain't nuthin' wrong, with a little bump and rind...
That would give anyone the pip.
This is THE song of Radiohead I can listen to over and over and over again and it's always a mystic experience
My only complaint of this video is that I really wish the director focused the lens on Ed at 1:41 - 1:50. I've never seen anyone so happy.
I noticed that Ed, especially, is really happy throughout this entire From the Basement session. Colin and Philip are totally into the music and Jonny, as usual, is in his own world. Thom seems totally relaxed, and it's so cool to see him laugh and joke around. It's obvious from the video, and the performance, that they all get on really well. Thom's vocals are extraordinary. Of course, I've never heard a "bad" Radiohead performance. *FACEPALM* What am I saying? I don't think such a thing exists......
Kristin Pawlewicz sometimes they have their disagreements and bickering, but then again, don't we all sometimes with our friends.
Yeah, how is it that a guy who plays with the four greatest musicians on earth is so happy!? Uhmm..!?
Charlie Read How so?
It was a rhetorical question bathed in sarcasm dude!
I love Ed's dance moves and the huge grin on his face.
At a concert in Glendale, Arizona, Thom Yorke said, "..it [the song, Reckoner] was born out of a very trippy dream, one of those ones you wake up from and go, 'aww man, I don't want to wake up from that, ever."
"Yet how superb, across the tumult braided,
The painted rainbow's changeful life is bending,
Now clearly drawn, dissolving now and faded,
And evermore the showers of dew descending!
Of human striving there's no symbol fuller:
Consider, and 'tis easy comprehending -
Life is not light, but the refracted color."
-Faust
cc: Aaron J. Howell
***** Wasn't even the original Reckoner, which tuned into Thom's""Feeling pulled apart like horses"... completely different. But this is one of my favorite songs.
+Stephanie L Davis I thought it was born from Sebastien Tellier's La Ritournelle...
+Rizky Syaiful you put everything in the right place
+Stephanie L Davis You just quoted Goethe? I fuck!ng love you!
3:40 Goddamit this part gives me shivers like no other, that bass...other worldy.
Agreed my friend :D
@@whoisme9117 lol
Came to comment when they bring the bass in... sublime
Drop the percussion then bring it on the back of Yorke’s vocals... perfection
better than the cd version, i honestly am blown away that this is live
+auchucknorris The subtly of Jonny's piano bit at the end is so beautiful.
it's hands down one of their top 5 performance.
true
3:44 sublimely polite bass
So true and for some reason I read this sentence with a mate at the end
I have officially given u tye 69th like
Everybody knows Thom's voice is incredible, but he's a great guitar player too. Just difficult to notice with three guitars.
quite the opposite lol
Dude Jonny is a master on the technical parts what are you talking about lol.
Wadsmitter I think it's the opposite
Such a beautiful song. Thom's voices is unbelievable. This song takes my breath away every time.
Reckoner
You can't take it with you
Dancing for your pleasure
You are not to blame for
Bittersweet distractor
Dare not speak its name
Dedicated to all you
All human beings
Because we separate
Like ripples on a blank shore
(In rainbows)
Because we separate
Like ripples on a blank shore
(In rainbows)
Reckoner
Take me with you
Dedicated to all you
alice cemoi I somehow expected longer lyrics 🤔😂
yer**
thanks
alice cemoi thanks
Last line " Dedicated to all you beings " 👍🏻❤🐱♏☯️🌌🏴
Can't get enough of this version. They play with so much passion... it's inspiring. I love when a musician really sings/plays with his heart. You can see that they're enjoying the moment. That's what music is about.
I love Radiohead. :)
God, the percussion, the falsetto, the fucking bass. Is the the best thing ever? Yes.
Colin is fuuuuuuucking amazing. Has to be the most underrated bassist in my eyes. Dude just kills it with every note.
Never seen someone take themselves so seriously shaking a lemon
One does not play the lemon without dedication
That's Jonny Greenwood for ya
Shaking a lemon like that takes years and years of hard work and practise. It's not only a beautiful fruit to shake, but it also needs a certain skill level to do it the right way.
+Pleun Stork Can confirm, shaking things is hard.
+Pleun Stork i lost it at the "beatiful fruit" part
I love everything Radiohead .Thom Yorke's voice ,looks, moves ,blows me away every time.
The song of my life, i've never felt so much love for a music.
Someday I hope to play the lemon as good as Jonny...
Pwahahaha !
You can't.
take my like good man
and I hope to play the bottle as good as Colin...
Someday I hope to suck a lemon as good as Thom
I think I found my home in this song
Alex Duran I feel exactly the same
I thought the same! 😃
SAME. i return to it whenever i feel really happy or really sad or just because why not, and it never doesn't make me feel safe and ok
Alex Duran I tell people this is the song that would wake me from a coma ❤️
Anyone have the tabs for Johnny's lemon?
+jjboog45 --xx--xx--xx--xx--xx--xx--xx--xx 4/4 ;)!
+jjboog45 phil did this at all the kid a era concerts like what is it
+Felipe Bravo Huerta more like x-x-xx-x-xx-x-xx-x-xx-x-xx
imagine all the lemons, living in world today
+jjboog45 No but I've got a note sheet for the bottle shaking if you want it.
I'm fucking speechless. this took me to a different dimension wow
the Radiohead dimension (s)
+Rothnacum1 ellos tienen que ser de otra dimensión...
I genuinely cannot believe how fantastic they perform this live
Colin really digs Radiohead's sound.
Radiohead is handsdown the best band in history.
Are they fuck
nope but one of the best
I get shivers every time that bass line reintroduces itself to the song. It’s simple, but so beautiful and perfect for the flow of song.
this has been my "all time" favorite song for over a decade. I remember watching this Live in The Basement and crying in front of my bros with no regrets. this shit is beautiful baby! 🤘
Some say in heaven, this song plays on a never-ending loop. If that's the case, I'm now a devout Christian
Cameron Law they have all the albums on repeat (Pablo honey only gets Blowout and Anyone can Play Guitar for the kids)
MrAdesTM it’s a good song
JellyBrain you are already in heaven
I feel the same thing and I'm a devout christian. Btw nice profile picture.
Just right click on the video, select "loop" and you're done. You don't need to become a christian or even get to heaven. 🤦♂️

This video makes wish UA-cam had a "Repeat forever" option. Amazing performance, amazing song
there is a trick to it, create a playlist with the song you want in it twice and put the playlist on repeat.
right click --> loop
Bozidar Tosic Oh my god.... thank.... never knew you could do right clic
Most incredible live song, no egos in this band, the music from the heart. Love it.
The harmony of instruments in this song is truly something great. I don't feel by the end there's a wasted beat or note. Terrific song, terrific performance.
Others may disagree, but this is my favorite song on “In Rainbows,” which is by far my favorite album, which pretty much makes it the best song ever, in my humble opinion🐸
Can't stop watching this video. Thom's voice is absolutely magnificent. It gives me shiver down the spine all the time.
I absolutely love this version, you can't get any closer to perfection than this.
Yesterday i woke up SHAKING a lemon :D
Hahahah :-))))
Awesome lol
+MrHumanDeath I c wot u did dere
+Kim Philipp Möllgaard either do I.
Reckoner in its right place
This is honestly better then the studio version
Part of me will always be stuck in 2008, when In rainbows just came out and i only began to understand how beautiful Radiohead is.
This is one of my favorite Radiohead songs... it's just so beautiful.
I dont need drugs, i have Radiohead.
try drugs while you listen to them....heaven!
what type of drug
a relaxing one...hehe...
Karamin1990 such as
+The Witch agree with you, waste of money and didn't have any benefits at all
I just love the playful banter at the beginning, and the genuine laugh and smile from Thom. His voice is so incredibly pure and clear on this track.
When I lost hope for life and thought nothing was left, they made this album and i found beauty again x
Possibly my favourite piece of live music. A band at the top of their game. What a song
johnny greenwood can even get a note out of a lemon.
I love how Ed enjoys playing that tambourine
could have like 13 minutes just extending the outro
Exactly
would be amazing
I was so much looking for this comment, and more importantly for a video/track of someone who extended it
this outro and The Eraser's outro are equally beautiful
@@hebron205 link or it didn't happen :)
“Beauty will save the world” Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Many people don't like Radiohead. I can understand them because, at first, it sounds weird. But if you open your mind to them and let them take you on the journey of their music you'll feel like something in you suddenly changes, something somewhere around some pain. At first, it can really look like something unpleasant; but once the door is crossed it turns into an energetic wonderland of neglected emotions, now ready to synergy, thus finding beauty in the unsightly. This is why there are mostly two kinds of people in the world: those who love Radiohead and those who don't, there is no space in between.
You've nailed !
Sometimes I feel so frustrated in people listening to music that has no value no emotion. Especially with today's music.
Then I watch this and I realize the beauty in every single moment in the perfect execution of Radiohead songs. I cant describe the love I have for such things. Nothing can describe the deepest happiest and uttermost liberating feelings that it brings. I wish other people could see this.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Timing is perfect in this perform, amazing band
30 years from now on an interview someone will ask Johnny: "So, how do you guys came up with a marvelous song such as Reckoner". Johnny: "Well, it all started will a lemon...."
7 years... to finally find a song that really blows my heart out.
That last groove gets me every time. I always feel like they could stretch that riff on a few more bars, but they're the musical geniuses and not me... just sublime
Always was a big fan of Radioheads early music but this last year their newer stuff has been really clicking in my head. This song is hauntingly good.
I'd say In Rainbows is their best album, it's so ridiculously well written!
***** Yeah, OK Computer and Kid A are great, but In Rainbows is something else entirely.
It is fantastic indeed!
2:32 - 3:28 is some of the most beautifully haunting music I've ever heard
I feel the same, that part just takes my breath away. His voice is otherworldly beautiful. It's like listening to an angel sing. 😢
4:10 to the end is, without doubt, my most favourite moment in music. Ever. Hands down.
what sorcery is this !!! I just went to another dimension with this song.
Ive listened to this recording over and over, and each and every time it feels like the first time I heard it - pure joy and amazement.
Be kind, be happy, be in the moment.
Remember 2007 when In Rainbows came out? Remember the sheet exhiliration on first listen of this song. How any band can pull an album like that out of the bag, that far into their career is beyond me. It's their best record. For sure.
If a bunch of angels up in heaven played music THIS is what it would sound like. Amazing.
So true, I love this song it is most beautiful.
+Sharon Tredinnick Yeah agree- In Rainbows is music for eternity.
Jestar77 7 a bootleg frusciante riff a tambourine and some pussy drums under it heaven sucks
Pussy drums hahahahah ... (are you a drummer?)
Basementdrummer 98 yes sir this drummer sucks
Such a beautiful song. It fills me with joy everytime I hear it
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
I think I've had this on repeat for 3 hours now, and I'm still not tired
This song. Never gets old. I hope this song will go through generations and I hope it gets to be recognized as a master piece. Maybe this is what we need to connect to other form of life. I'm saying this because every time I listen to this song I feel something new each time, I want everyone to hear and feel. It's like a wave of emotion that doesn't stop hitting.... To everyone listing to this if it's the future or you're from the past. Enjoy this and experience.
Radiohead is making the best songs for the acoustic pkayers for years and years. They are saving us on the beaches in the lonely nights where we making new friends from strangers. So, thank you radiohead thank you tom. Thank for all the work you put in
Johnny's so good he can turn a lemon into a musical instrument
ED is enjoying himself so much
Best song ever for me. always come back to it at some point of my life and feel like its the best song to ever created. Love u Radiohead
Just look at their faces... There's so much passion, all those multitasking skills, Greenwood brothers are amazing. And Thom? He's like an angel.
I've thought about it a lot. Like, a lot. And I can say with confidence that Reckoner is the greatest Radiohead song of all time.
Philip Selway makes this song.
Yup. Pretty much the backbone.
That and the guitar riffs + vocals from 4:05 'til the end.
Wow I didn't know about that.
li Cecile well, you were missing out!
Favorite part about this song: how the main guitar "oscillates" up and down just like a sine/cosine wave (e.g. - a traveling particle of light), and how extra emphasis is put on this idea as the song and guitar evolve. Literally genius. Incredible creativity!!
... and of course how there's interference/distortion in the guitar when Thom sings "dare not speak His name". And how they enter a new dimension at the climax of the song. And... And.... And....
his voice, this entire performance... simply mind-blowing
This is so ethereal and unearthly it almost defies reasoning for me to see a few flesh and blood men pick up objects and proceed to casually; *casually* play music that sounds like it came from the Gods. You mean music sheets didn't fall off a podium in the heavens and drift down, to be found by mere mortals and recorded note for note as Reckoner??
is Thom Yorke an actual angel?
What a sweet sweet voice Thom has ❤ Do you think he knows just how amazing he is?
I'm in tears right now , 😥, almost end of February 2020. I know life & love never is always easy.. Radiohead always make me feel better🎵
Thank you for being you Thom Yorke & the rest of this beautiful band, so in tune. ❤ Take care 🤗 🐱♏♌♉☯️🌌🏴
One of the most beautiful songs I've heard in my entire life. It never gets old.
Crazy how good it sounds live.
Best Radiohead album.
When life gives you lemons, you appreciate the gift, because life don't owe ya shit Sonny boy!
Way back in the day I saw Radiohead at a small venue in Pdx, Or. He reached out & grabbed our hands & if any of his magical energy transcended thru me, I feel so lucky. To see how far they've come is inspiring!
The Only Band That Matters~!
It must be the most beautiful song that I know
A complete BANGER. One of the best ever written. So haunting and yet so gorgeous.
I love this song - one of my favourites and seeing this is amazing.
This just breaks you then makes you whole again.
