I tripped on a step once and fell flat on my face onto my granite patio. I was watering my houseplants and had a glass bottle in my hand that shattered. Blood was spilling out, and I heard "Yarrow!" There she was, growing right in front of me. :) I was alone and felt like I was maybe going into shock, but I had the presence of mind to grab some Yarrow and wash out the wounds on my hand. I'd cut one finger to the bone. I made a spit poultice with Yarrow, took something to settle me down, and just sat on the sofa, breathing slowly. Every day I dressed the wounds with Yarrow, and it looked like I had green stitches. :) There's no longer a scar. She is an amazing healer! 🌿Thx for another great video, Terri! I don't know Woundwort, but I'm going to look for her. 💚

Can you recommend any herbs for adverse effects from a certain medical treatment that some refer to as needlecraft? I was asked this by a relative and I want to start gathering any useful ingredients. What I have growing around here: Oregon grape Horsetail Yarrow Alder Raspberries Blackberries Fireweed Plantain Rosemary Garlic Red clover Milk thistle Sage
I would recommend Wormwood and perhaps Liquorice - but herbs are recommended for a person rather than for an illness or an effect because the illness or the effects may manifest in different ways from individual to individual. x
I have noticed friends reporting very different things, often relating to autoimmune problems they never experienced before. The ingredients may vary among different pharma products possibly. No way for me to know. One can’t go wrong with sunlight, walking in natural places, organic foods, regular sleep hours and a limit on tv and cellphone. I tell them to seek out naturopathic doctors because they treat the whole person.

I'm sorry about that last message. I meant to ask you. The plant you are calling wound wart is that a prunus vulgaris it looks awful tall. Can you tell me the genus and species of what you have there? Thank you
So I have a broadleaf plantain. So last year I tried to dig it up. It's at corner of my house. I used old potting soil to keep water from being underneath my house. So we know the potting soil I bought was recycled. I want it, but it is so close to the corner of my house. 😂what should I do? Lol!
You can dry it but make sure to lay out each leaf with space around it as it can go black when drying and then it isn't very good to use. For external use I infuse it into oil and make a salve. xx
For bumps and bruises or for aching limbs after hard work in the garden or a long walk, use a balm or salve. Very easy to make, infuse in oil for 6 weeks and then melt a little beeswax into the strained oil. Pour your oil and beeswax into a container and there you go. Then just rub it gently into the affected part.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I know the focus here is aches, pains, accidents etc. but the common little daisy is amazing for skin health care - great for lightening dark spots, toning , wrinkles caused by sun damage.
I got my seeds from a wild Mullein that was on the road side. I don't know where you live so I can't recommend a nursery. You could try Irish Seed Savers...

how do you sign up for your herb medicine course
Hi Patricia - here is a link. You can read about it here and then choose your donation. Thanks for your enquiry. danusirishherbgarden.com/product/an-introduction-to-herbal-medicine/?
Can you recommend any herbs for adverse effects from a certain medical treatment that some refer to as needlecraft? I was asked this by a relative and I want to start gathering any useful ingredients.
What I have growing around here:
Oregon grape
Horsetail
Yarrow
Alder
Raspberries
Blackberries
Fireweed
Plantain
Rosemary
Garlic
Red clover
Milk thistle
Sage
I would recommend Wormwood and perhaps Liquorice - but herbs are recommended for a person rather than for an illness or an effect because the illness or the effects may manifest in different ways from individual to individual. x
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden thank you.

Thank you
It is Prunella vulgaris. Mine is much smaller but it's in a pot.
What are the yellow flowers on the left side of screen at 0:45 seconds? Are they useful?
They are Evening Primrose plants - they are medicinal and edible. xx
So I have a broadleaf plantain. So last year I tried to dig it up. It's at corner of my house. I used old potting soil to keep water from being underneath my house. So we know the potting soil I bought was recycled. I want it, but it is so close to the corner of my house. 😂what should I do? Lol!
Not sure what you are asking???
Plaintain ? Can it be dried into a tea for internal or powdered for external use?
You can dry it but make sure to lay out each leaf with space around it as it can go black when drying and then it isn't very good to use. For external use I infuse it into oil and make a salve. xx
Do you use your herbs for your dogs?
Touch wood they haven't been sick but I do use Wormwood now and again and I would use herbs externally if they needed any help. xx
how would I use the daisy exactly should I need to?
For bumps and bruises or for aching limbs after hard work in the garden or a long walk, use a balm or salve. Very easy to make, infuse in oil for 6 weeks and then melt a little beeswax into the strained oil. Pour your oil and beeswax into a container and there you go. Then just rub it gently into the affected part.
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden I know the focus here is aches, pains, accidents etc. but the common little daisy is amazing for skin health care - great for lightening dark spots, toning , wrinkles caused by sun damage.
Do you know where I can get Mullen to make tea 🍵🌞
I got my seeds from a wild Mullein that was on the road side. I don't know where you live so I can't recommend a nursery. You could try Irish Seed Savers...
I live in Birmingham uk. thank youxx
Is it true that after stinging nettle goes to seed you can't use it🤷♀️
Yes. It can be too harsh to use but cut it down and get a new crop as it grows back. Harvest the seeds too!
Hello Terri,
I was wondering if there are any medicinal benefits to the flowers pushed so hard to garden with here in the u.s. Like zinnia, marigold, and cosmos. I found that cosmos is eaten in places and has some helping affects....
Thank you so much,
Teri. ( From one Teri to another)
Hey Teri💁 - Not sure about Zinnia or Cosmos, as far as I know they are cottage garden flowers. As for Marigold, do you mean Calendula or Pot Marigold or Tagetes which is French Marigold? Calendula is an amazingly medicinal plant and Tagetes is great in the garden as a companion plant to repel pests. xx
Is yarrow contraindicated in blood clots? Or has it dual action - stops but also starts bleedings, dep on what's needed?
5;55 adorable dog's faces
Yarrow is what is known as a amphoteric herb - it does what is needed so can start or stop bleeding.
