  • Just a little tour of my room and corridor (dorm) in Lund, Sweden. As an added bonus, you also get to see what the world looks like at 4'10"/147 cm. ;)
    I'm in Parentesen (parenthesis in Swedish), so named because it's two curved buildings forming parentheses around a courtyard.
    I talk a little bit about how I feel living here on my blog, if you want more info: anicaadventures...

    This is one of the most amazing video I ever seen on youtube. I lived in the same room that you lived in and posted on youtube. I stayed there from 1990 until 1993. At that time it was a very cold place but I loved it. Thank you for posting this video. Erik Fager, a former student in political science.

    What a great video: thanks! Unfortunately, I'm waitlisted for Spring 2021, but tomorrow I still need to register for accommodation, just in case I get in. Which Accommodation is this one? BTW, I'm 5'2", so I feel ya' ;).

      Glad you liked it! This is Parentesen, but keep in mind most of the rooms don't have a shower, I just got lucky. Hope you get to go, I had a great time. :)

      @@MidknytOwl Hej! Thanks for the reply. Parentesen isn't on a list of Lund Accommodations at this point. Think it might've changed names? Just out of curiosity now: I applied for accommodations this morning (at 1:00am my time to hit 9:00 in Sweden) so it's probably moot.

      I think AF Bostader was removing all their Lund Accommodations rooms the year I moved out. That would include Parentesen, Sparta, Delphi, etc. I had friends that lived in the other ones, their accommodations are good if you want to add them as an option.

    Hi! Do you happen to know how many square meter/feet the room is? (including bathroom/hallway). I'm hoping of following a semester in Sweden so I was just wondering ^^

      Hi! I think it was 20 or 22 m2 (215 or 236 ft2). I should have done a second video before I moved out, but I was able to comfortably fit a three cushion couch in there with the other furniture.
      Keep in mind though my room was bigger than the rest in the corridor, because it was the weird room with the shower. I think the other rooms were 18m2. :)

    Oh noes, dorms exist in sweden.. okay so uhm do you need a dorm in college? or not? (if u need one.. i'm either DED or i get a dorm for one :D

    • @MidknytOwl
      @MidknytOwl  6 років тому

      No, you don't need to live in a dorm, and some of the university housing options are studio apartments. Other people get rooms in regular houses, or share apartments. Living in a dorm was just the option I wanted/went with. :)

    Is it allowed to share room??? 2 persons in a room

    • @MidknytOwl
      @MidknytOwl  6 років тому

      Officially, no, you're only allowed one person in these rooms. Unofficially it depends on how your fellow corridor-mates feel about it I think. :)

    • @ahmedrazy3204
      @ahmedrazy3204 6 років тому

      It means i can share with my corridor mates???

    • @MidknytOwl

      I'm not sure what you mean. The room is yours, you share the kitchen and common area (and for most of the rooms, showers) with everyone else in the corridor. If you have someone else living with you in your room, the company probably won't notice, but the rest of the people in the corridor definitely will. If you and the other person are being really loud, leaving messes, or other stuff to piss off the other people in the corridor, then they might report you to the company. If you and the other person get along with everyone, people probably won't care.
      But as far as the contract and everything, you're only allowed one person to live in the room.

    is there shower in your own room??

    • @MidknytOwl
      @MidknytOwl  8 років тому +2

      Yes, but it's the only room on the floor that does. The other 19 rooms have their own toilet, but share showers. It was a nice surprise when I moved in!
