Perfect video. I need to slow down and take my time with the combat and gadgets. I’m just so used to Batman’s combat system that at times I’m pressing the wrong buttons lol.
I’ve seen so many people just spamming punches and dodging, losing health constantly. It’s refreshing I see someone playing the game the way it was meant to. Great tips!
Yeah, it took me a minute to adjust at the start. I had been playing so much God of War my muscle memory was just not ready to return to the old square attack and circle dodge. Combine that with the very 1st few enemies being really easy, and by the time I got to the Fisk fight at the start, I was trying to do fancy aerial and environmental attacks only and found myself getting hit a bunch. I honestly didn't think there would be much challenge to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that to play like an unhittable acrobat takes a little thinking before it's second nature.
Play this game on spectacular and you'll realize there is not always time to use gadgets. Also, it's much more fun dodging and doing combos and finishes and suit powers. The gadgets are more useful for brute types or stealth gameplay. Unless you just want to take everyone out instantly for some reason.

I just finished all three of the mains game stories and leveling up by making new game files. Worked all the combos and gadgets on the fly almost the same as you did. Fun times and props on the using the Animated Series theme song at the end of the clip.
Insomniac nailed it! It seems complicated at first (especially on spectacular, I died 5 times right out the gate lol) but once you get it down it's quite simple. The combos that you're able to put together while swinging OR fighting are both diverse & eye-catching, especially later on with skill & gadget upgrades. It makes getting bored hard because there's so much to experiment with. I mean, swinging alone is fun enough that I don't fast travel even if it's from the Statue of Liberty to Harlem lol
Dude, you're playing with a fully fleshed out Spiderman. So, your second tip (start with a bang), isn't available after you have enough xp to buy it. Start your combat tips with the Spiderman at the start.
colaboytje play the game for more than an hour and you’ll have these things available. You don’t get to kick ass from the get-go. Read the tips and buttons and care enough to commit them to memory. One of the only competent combat videos I’ve seen. Excellent video and I can really see creativity is rewarded in combat. Out of curiosity what difficulty was this on?
Using different combinations and variations of gadgets in quick succession is key, but environment control and positioning is an underlying goldmine. When I found out that enemies could take damage from being in the line of sight of a fellow armed thug, I really hit my stride with just what gadgets to use and how to use them appropriately based off of where I was positioned at in the middle of a large group and just how to get the enemies to thin out their own numbers. A nicely placed Web Trip Mine in front of a firing assailant could halt the pull of the mine and keep an unsuspecting thug suspended in the line of fire. Practically creating a bullet monkey that you could either use as a scapegoat, or just maneuver behind. The level of strategy in the combat surprised the hell out of me, that’s for sure.
PHXNTXM totally agree bro honestly this game really makes me feel like spidey cause it promotes the one thing a lot of games lack and that’s “creative innovation”
Yes I don’t get what your trying to say. Are you saying you make the enemies get shot while their being pulled in to a wall with a trip mine? That sounds hard to time.
Fersancersal It definitely looks like he does. Haha but as criminals fall from high places, a web device eventually shoots out from them and attaches them to the nearest surface. It’s pretty cool to watch. -Garrett

The only one's im still having trouble with are brutes, ykno the big ones, but i usually leave them till they're the last ones standing.
This is pretty smart. Combining web gadgets to maximize usage. I tend to focus on combo’ing with air strikes and webbing them up to walls, ceilings, or floors. I DID however use suit abilities with conjunction with the mods like electro proof suit with air combat building up a static charge and enemies that melee me get stunned.

2:10 the whip guy kicks my ass four square love. Have to concussive blast him, triangle to him and smack him around a lot. I had a dream last night where I was going through wave's of enemies with cool webb like weapon's, it was in a dark factory with freight boxes and maze's. I had a ball that was like gum, it could grab weapons and swing me. As I upgraded after a few hundred enemies I had a metal grappling fist, it could take weapon's or just attack. Somehow I was in some massive competition/game show. It was one of the most vivid realistic dream's where I was fully aware of what was happening. It's probably the coolest dream I've ever had. At the end I missed the countdown to 500 hundred enemies when I was at 499. All the light's came in and an announcement proclaimed I'd lost the prize of $110k. I was chosen because of my High school background in physics/science and sport from my local state. How insane is the human brain to be able to create such amazing realities in our sleep, as our mind creates them we simultaneously experience them. The way thing's felt was ultra real to the point when I awoke I couldn't believe what I'd experienced. 🤜}------------------------*🔫
A stealth technique I have is that when an enemy is in "DANGER" mode for takedowns, use Impact Webs on them. This makes it so that anyone who discovers you is easily and rapidly dealt with in the same way. This technique also minimizes suspiciousness.
I have to agree with u this game never gets bored....I might’ve taken a break from it go play 2K but the fighting is too addictive and to Spider-Man like to walk away from...game is too official man

It depends on difficulty, my friend. If being on the easy difficulties doesn’t work, redo bases and other activities that involve fighting (Of which most of them do) to get better
LifeOfRy so cool! Another favorite of mine is to web bomb them once they hit the ground after the suspension matrix. They all get webbed to the ground simultaneously 🤘-Garrett
@@COGConnected I’ve tried the trip mine after the suspension matrix, it’s quite hard to make sure to get the mine directly underneath them it seems. And ah! That’s another great idea I hadn’t thought of.
I didn’t know there was so many ways to fight. I didn’t even realize you could switch gadgets mid-fight! I’ve been playing for several hours and am starting to get bored because all I do is punch and kick. I still don’t even know how to zip a web at an enemy even when I study the moves list so many times.
I don't know his channel so i can only assume: you had the game for 1 day abd you learned all that, unlocked all that and most of all master it? Looks like someone else knows about the double finisher cheat besides me. Speaking of finishers.. camera stays normal sometimes when I do a finisher. The camera animations don’t play at that time along with the slow motion effects or anything don’t happen. It all just happens in real time
Got the game yesterday and was beaten by three bank robbers 😂. My biggest worry was feeling like I’d played it before after a short while but the combat is so varied and fun to learn that it was the biggest surprise over the stuff a lot of reviews mentioned.
Spidey Rome Nice! They’ve grown on me as well. I’ve discovered so many more cool ways to combine gadgets and whatnot since making this video. I’m sure you have too. So much fun. Haha -Garrett
Something that I think is also pretty handy to do is to do this wall attack. You dodge into a wall and then press attack button. Normal size enemies fall to the ground and you're free to just web em down :D
I would say this game's combat system is far better than all the Arkham games. I have played all of them and the combat is much more fluid and elegant in Spiderman. Insomniac games really hit this one out of the park. Home run !!
What's the best way to get a ton of combos? Cause I'm having trouble getting a 20 hit combo on the Sable Guards since they're all clumped together and I don't have much room to move around, lol. 😅
Sasukelover people with jobs that own all consoles are winning. If you dont own an xbox one, that means you dont have sunset overdrive, which is insomniacs other excellent game this gen aside from ratchet.
They occasionally appear. It's mostly normal crooks. However, you can replay any of the base challenges whenever you'd like to face off against any variants. -Garrett
COGconnected Ah okay. Good! It seems like Insomniac did a great job in making sure this is the kind of game that has super high replay value even after you platinum it.
The most difficult thing about the combat in this game isn't the combat. It's me. Being an Arkham series veteran (got all the Bat plats), I'm having to unlearn fighting like Batman. It'll take a minute, but I'll get it. Thanks for this video, it helps knowing I can use web strike to zip all over the battlefield.
I wish someone would do a video dedicated to dealing with brutes. They are destroying me consistently, and I haven't figured out a reliable way to fight them. "Just web them up" doesn't work when there are multiple brutes and other enemies who rape you faster than you can shoot webs, and dodge/counter seems ineffective on these guys, sooo.... ???
You probably know the answer since I'm dragging you back to this comment a year after you wrote it I usually play in ultimate mode, but brutes and sable armour dudes are pretty easy to take out. For armour dudes, use an air launch and then hold triangle to pull them to the ground, instantly breaking their armour and leaving them vulnerable to webs. For brutes, I unlocked a skill that let's me swing them around when their webbed up, but before that I would just use finishers. It requires 2 bars to do though, don't risk it if you're on low health
Bro...how the hell do I air yank enemies? Supposedly it's holding triangle during air combat but that's not counting for the battle objectives for me...
i dont use them for small fry, only to finish someone special off, but its rare. I want like a more challenging mode, where i can mash around against harder waves until i loose or something like that, something to fight for, you know?
I like this game but it should be the superior spiderman with what he does lol. Whipping someone into the ground like he does at 0:39 would fuck him up. An upper cut with enough force to send them flying 10 feet in the air, guessing some permanent damage. In the game I've knocked people off the roof at least 10 floors up, yeah their dead. This spiderman is savage.
You think you can create a combat (inputs) on a document? I can't seem to remember all they come and go so fast. There's no combat list in-game also which sucks. And since I can't remember any, i keep spamming square entire time during the fights
Perfect video. I need to slow down and take my time with the combat and gadgets. I’m just so used to Batman’s combat system that at times I’m pressing the wrong buttons lol.
Yeah I always try to counter with triangle. I keep forgetting I'm not batman.
@@knockitoffhudson3470 ikr although i sometimes wish they would have stick with triangle to counter and circle to web strike instead of r1

I was actually pretty sporadic in acquiring the skills. I had a lot of fun experimenting with them as I went along. -Garrett
Yep. I did skill at whatever I could afford at the time. Skills and mods I took them as they came.
Great display of skill, and overall a good informative video that is interesting.
Wow great review and thanks for the tips. Now all I need is for it to be Friday already!
The Wealth Generator
Thanks for watching! So close to release day. 🤘🕷 -Garrett
Hi bro, how to perform zip back after a swinging kick on 1:42 - 1:44? Thanks
The x button lets you stay above just by tapping twice or by pressing triangle lets you web strike baddies from a few metres 😊
What's the best way to get a ton of combos? Cause I'm having trouble getting a 20 hit combo on the Sable Guards since they're all clumped together and I don't have much room to move around, lol. 😅
I’d use soem web bombs personally
@@killerkirby366 Lol I already beat the game fully..
@@InfiniteTony nice you new game plus it to ?
@@killerkirby366 Hell no! I ain't doing all that extra stuff lmao just the main game.. 😅
PS4 is winning
Sasukelover people with jobs that own all consoles are winning. If you dont own an xbox one, that means you dont have sunset overdrive, which is insomniacs other excellent game this gen aside from ratchet.
Sasuke: winning so much
Just curious, even after beating the main story do all the enemy variants remain in the city such as the Inner Demons or the Sable soldiers?
They occasionally appear. It's mostly normal crooks. However, you can replay any of the base challenges whenever you'd like to face off against any variants. -Garrett
COGconnected Ah okay. Good! It seems like Insomniac did a great job in making sure this is the kind of game that has super high replay value even after you platinum it.
These are actually great tips. Most tips videos for games are total BS
I'm good at perfect dodging but sometimes there are sneaky enemy hits. Is it because of being closely surrounded by multiple enemies?
Please I need help ! What is the technique used at 3.23 ?? The mega web attack ? Please ? Cant find it anywhere !
3:21 how did you do that?
It's suit ability
Thanks for the vid. These screwball challenges be f**kin me up
The most difficult thing about the combat in this game isn't the combat. It's me. Being an Arkham series veteran (got all the Bat plats), I'm having to unlearn fighting like Batman. It'll take a minute, but I'll get it. Thanks for this video, it helps knowing I can use web strike to zip all over the battlefield.
How do you get the spiderman suits with the limbs?
Thanks for the tips :)
BaseClaw
Happy to throw some out there. Thanks for watching! -Garrett
Ya last night i was only able to pkay fer about 2 hours. I was getting hit and taking waaaay too much dmg. Need to hit the lab.
Go nuts with the gadgets! Once you really hit your stride with the web shooters, things get infinitely cooler. :)
Thanks for spoiler alert😊
I wish someone would do a video dedicated to dealing with brutes. They are destroying me consistently, and I haven't figured out a reliable way to fight them. "Just web them up" doesn't work when there are multiple brutes and other enemies who rape you faster than you can shoot webs, and dodge/counter seems ineffective on these guys, sooo.... ???
How to throw enemies without webbing them up first?
how do you finisher 2 1 focus bar = 2 finisher how can anyone tell me
Defender tab final skill - Chain finisher, let you do 2 finishers with 1 bar of focus.
@@NiGHTsC thanks
Is there a quicker way to take down the brutes and guys with armor?
You probably know the answer since I'm dragging you back to this comment a year after you wrote it
I usually play in ultimate mode, but brutes and sable armour dudes are pretty easy to take out.
Supposedly it's holding triangle during air combat but that's not counting for the battle objectives for me...
dude hold square uppercut stay on the ground then hold triangle
@@markcarter5990 hmm I'll give that a try. Thanks
Is there like any way to make the game harder? Im playing on spectacular and fight against a soldier base (hardest imo) but its still no challenge..
don't use Gadgets, Suit Mods or Suit Powers?
i dont use them for small fry, only to finish someone special off, but its rare. I want like a more challenging mode, where i can mash around against harder waves until i loose or something like that, something to fight for, you know?
@@madpanger7257 wait for the game plus mode to come out 😊
I like this game but it should be the superior spiderman with what he does lol. Whipping someone into the ground like he does at 0:39 would fuck him up. An upper cut with enough force to send them flying 10 feet in the air, guessing some permanent damage. In the game I've knocked people off the roof at least 10 floors up, yeah their dead. This spiderman is savage.
i just find it hard because the controls feel wonky
Got game only now. Cheers
Easily the game of the year......sorry GOW
I can fight 20+ people at a time and take them all out in different ways. Sounds like you don’t understand the depth of what’s available to you.
i cant perform finishers
😂 WHO 😂 TF 😂 COPPED 😂 THE 😂 SCARLET 😂 SUIT 😂 WITH THE QUICKNESS 😳❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️

You think you can create a combat (inputs) on a document? I can't seem to remember all they come and go so fast. There's no combat list in-game also which sucks. And since I can't remember any, i keep spamming square entire time during the fights
TheWarfare07 there actually is. At the very end of the inventory thing; the tabs with the suits, skills, etc, at the very end is a moves list
@@mr.shneeblie5330 didn't know that. Thanks for the help man. And great video.
TheWarfare07 I’m not the poster but it was in fact a good video lol your welcome
@@mr.shneeblie5330 oh shit. Haha
