Between the longer fasts I tried 16|8 or 18|4, but had MAJOR dips in energy on theses days. I’m on 20|4 and am now full of energy all day. I work out (mainly lifting weights) without a problem. I am glad I found this. I started eating 1 meal a day by accident and noticed I felt better. I have gained so much weight since menopause. I never had weight issues before. I went from 140 to 177 and nothing worked to get it off. I am a former personal trainer and never dreamed I would struggle with this. I am always bloated and struggle with inflammation since vaccine injury this last year. It seems like the fasting has helped but I was concerned about getting the nutrition I need. Watching this confirms I am on the right track and I have lost 4 lbs in the last week. It does not bother me at all to go this long without eating. Hoping this is going to continue to bring healing. Thank you!

Approaching 50. Started IF Sept 2021, 18-20 hr fasting window, 6 days a week. Drink 100-140 oz water a day. Eat clean most days. Eat whatever I like in social settings. 5'6 with starting weight 225 lbs. Now 155lbs (70 lbs down). Didn't do any exercise until Mar 2022 which is walking 5 miles a day only, 5-6 days a week. On days I do a 20-4, I eat at start and end of the window to get in 2 full meals and enough nutrients. Eat 18-6 must days. Also, I loosen my eating window 1 day a week to trick the body a bit.

THANK YOU for THIS VIDEO! I'm a midlife personal stylist. I've put on 20# starting perimenopause 2 years ago while on vacation in Spain.
After lots and lots of research, I've found that most doctors don't know a f#%k about menopause and hormones.
I did have immediate (1 month) 5# loss of the weird spare tire fat roll with Provitalize and do have a coupon to try it!
I needed this video for more support and more strategies to support myself and my clients.
The other tip I've found is that you can't be committed to drinking alcohol. It's a struggle because I did enjoy one tequila drink a few times a week, but I fast so much I just find that alcohol makes me feel like 💩.
The other tip: keep the weight lifting.
Biggest tip: get rid of ANYONE in your life that causes you STRESS. By the time we get to midlife, we get to have better boundaries. Life is too short. Sending love and support to all of us!!

It’s been two weeks on plan and lost five pounds. Thought I would struggle without any fake sugar in my drinks but am going the full 20 (on mt valley and other mineral waters, unsweetened tea & coffee)Adding salt helps a lot. Your words of encouragement have made a BIG difference. This is my longest and most successful period fasting. My first time without fake sugar this has made all the difference! Previous fasts have all included fake sugar and I lost nothing. Unadulterated drinks and 20 hrs has made all the difference for me! I’m 61 and a 7 yr vegan had not been able to lose much previously. Your plan is transformative! Thank you!!!

I realize I’m not getting to eat as much though, and cramming in all I can in my four hours. I guess this has to be for the rest of my life???

THANK YOU for speaking about memory loss. I have been experiencing the same and am being told that's "normal". I didn't listen and looked up memory boosting foods and realized that even though I am fasting IF, I was not paying enough attention to the importance of the nutritional aspect while feasting. Changing that now! Will keep you posted. Love your videos and they always seem to be spot on. 🥰🤗

I need this!!!! I had positive experience w keto in 2019 lost over 75 lbs (at my peak) and felt amazing. Fell back to bad habits after hitting a 6 month plateau and feeling like I’ve completely failed myself again in my pursuit of better health 😢now I get to start alllll over again plus an extra 10 lb cherry on top. I feel miserable, inflamed everything hurts. Menopause is just an added bonus to the 100+ I need to lose. I’m trying to get my head right again and feel stuck. I know what I need to do but cannot seem to get my act back together. Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Thank you for your passion and sharing. I’m listening!

My last meal consists of only fish and vegetables. I fast for about 15 hours (which includes sleeping) and then just wait until I have dinner whenever this is. This has suddenly started to work. The scale was stuck....now its moving. This will become a lifestyle instead of just something that I am doing right now to get the weight off. Can't thank you enough!

Fasting works for me health wise and weight. Coming from a family were all the elders died of diabetes and Cancer, fasting is the way for me too go! Today most doctors won't tell their patients if they are Overweight. They are afraid of fat shaming or losing their patients. It's about health, diabetes, cancer and disease not fat shaming! I started IF in March of 2021. I wanted to lose 30 lbs. Started at 165. I have lost the same 30 pounds countless times. This last time was more difficult using conventional methods. I'm now 68. I started IF at 16 hrs, then quickly moved to 18 and 20. I lost about 2 lbs a week. Doing 20 hours did help me over the harder times. I successfully met my goal in June of 2021 and have kept the weight off doing 14 and 16 hour fasts, but when I had more lax times, just getting back on with 20 hour fasts got me back on track quickly. After I lost about 10 lbs I did start dirty fasting with tea and cream, but I kept records and this didn't seem to change my weight loss. I realize that some people can't dirty fast with results. That's why I tell everyone, "EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT" You have to monitor your results and what you do, eat etc, and see how it affects your results. You DO NOT have to do what everyone else says you HAVE to do. I can't tell you how many people I have watched that said you HAVE to do Keto, or you HAVE to calorie count. Some do, some don't. TEST THIS FOR YOURSELF. Do your OWN research. Everyone IS Different and some of these things don't work for everyone. I have read where some don't lose until they do OMAD.

My friend hadn’t seen me in a few months and said “where’s the rest of you?” I’m one who always relied on over-exercising to lose weight but at almost 50, I KNEW I had to conquer the intake side. I’m so excited because I feel every day like “I can do this!” NEVER had I had this experience when taking on the nutrition side of life. 70 years old and was feeling sluggish, stomach felt full constantly (because it was - I snacked throughout the entire day.) Beginning of May this year I started fasting 20 hours a day (I eat between 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm). First thing I noticed was my energy level skyrocketed - I used to go go go all day and now I can do that again. My clothes are much looser (I refuse to get on a scale at my age). Fasting really begin from a spiritual aspect because it is a holistic approach If you pray, meditate, fast and do supplications (vision boards) at the same time the benefits are powerful! I do an all-day spiritual water fast once a week, along with a sugar fast only eating processed sugars (bread, carbs, or my favorite sweet) once every 2 weeks, along with adding in HERBS such as tumeric, beet root and ginger along with vegetables and fruits you will never be on any medications even if the disease is hereditary in your family..I'm 48 and people tell me think I'm only 30 at the most because it helps your skin as well! Long story short, i lost 10 lbs in about 4-6 weeks. No exercise whatsoever. I've never lost weight without trying really hard ever in my life. I'm 50 and postmenopausal. I'm definitely sticking to this plan once I go back home and I will implement exercise.

If I'm hungry I eat, if I'm not I don't. Always read the labels for serving size. Already started losing weight.

I have struggled with my weight most of my life .. lost over 100 lbs on low carb keto and IF .. I had a baby in 2019 .. he is medically fragile .. he needs 24/7 care.. my husband and I are his only caregivers .. he has been in out the hospitals since birth .. vent dependent .. Cerebral Palsy … many system issues .. I gained 45 lbs from the birth and stress .. I stayed in keto throughout it all .. I am sure my hormones are out of whack .. I’ve started the IF back and omad .. ima, also type 2 diabetic .. I struggle to keep my sugars down and my A1C … I feel defeated .. I don’t ever cheat or come off keto …

Hello from Italy.I'm 50 years old and have been fasting 16 to 18 hours for the past 5 weeks and my PMS was much 'smoother' this time around! I would like to take it up a notch and go for a 20 hour fasting but I worry this may slow down my metabolism and backfire. Thank you so much. Francesca

Not eating will lower your insulin, not your metabolism. If you were to cut calories by eating less, but still frequently, then your metabolism would be negatively affected because your insulin levels would be spiked, while your caloric set point would fall to meet your new low calorie limit. On the other hand, taking in fewer calories from eating within a shorter eating window won't lower your metabolism because your body will use fat as fuel outside of the eating window, which will keep your metabolism at the same level.

My mother did a 20 hour fast all the time when I was younger, but , she drank black coffee during her fasts. I thought it was a Lutheran thing lol! She didn’t like to cook and I think that explains her desire appetite for raw foods and gardening (simple eating). I’m trying the fasting and going through a work academy that requires a lot of physical exercise. I hope in five weeks I’ll see a huge change, I’m 49 and I have not been able to manage my weight it’s increasing rapidly.

Interesting I don't mean to do this but I fast 20 hours. That's exactly my time to eat. I had some weight to lose 6 years ago. Lost it. In between that time. I found fasting. And my fast is about exactly 20 hours long. Wow pretty cool. Just to let you know ladies know. I've maintained my weight, for those 6 years. I'm not gaining I'm not losing and I'm right where I want to be. Holding that 20-hour fast. Very easy.

Glad I found your channel started IF in 2020 for the first time it was great lost the weight and stopped for a year started back the last week in May and the results are great I love IF and I am able to do this at my own leisure I usually have a 1 hour window where I eat and then I would close that window this is because it takes my body so long to digest my food and I stay full longer before I was eating and I was not hungry that was when the weight piled back on so now I do an 18-20 and sometimes 24 hours fast this is where I am now feeling my best just turned 52 and feeling so much better now thank you for the lessons learned.

I just found you today. Been in and off of keto and IF for 5 years. Yes.. everything I gained health wise I lost after getting off those regimens.
Started a 20 hr fast just yesterday! So what nutritional supplements should we use on the 20 hr fasting lifestyle. I just became diabetic, and yes… my life depends on 20 hour fasting.
    A wake-up call!!!! I’m 76ers old.
