your video is really exactly what I needed right now. And i've never interacted with polyamorous people, but i would never force my opinion on them or bully them. Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable!
As someone who's recently entered the poly world, I was SHOCKED to see how much hate and how little community there was on the internet in reagrds to this lifestyle. Like you search up the nichest of niche genders or sexualities, youll find a community and a safe space for them. But for poly? I had to dig. So I'm glad creators like you are putting out the good word about this relationship style and setting the record straight on tiktoks's final drama 🥰
It’s one of the oldest shticks in the world… A person who has been raised to believe that the way they are is the one truly good way to be, realizes that they aren’t as happy or satisfied with their life as they “ought” to be, and so they try to make themselves feel better by punching down at people who do not adhere to the “one truly good way to live” but have the audacity of being happy and satisfied with our lives regardless. They have to insist that we are lesser, undesirable, unhappy - because if someone different than them can be good and desirable and happy, then their idea that there’s just one truly good way to be is a lie.
Same reason cishets are so interested in queer people's lives (those that are,) target acquisition. They want someone to punch down on. Either that or they're interested and think they shouldn't be.
My friend told my partner (there were 3 of us) that i was cheating on him, even though he knew and was ACTIVELY DATING THE OTHER PERSON, that i was just "cheating on him with consent" like tf 💀💀💀💀
I'm 47. I've been practicing polyamory since 2016. I met this amazing woman on a dating site. Our first date she gave me homework to read: The Ethical Slut. Reading that book was electrifying. I mainlined it in like 2 days. The ideas presented in the book resonated my soul. Relationship ideas I'd always had but didn't think could happen. Reading the book electrified my brain! Living polyamory has brought great joy and happiness to me life. It's not for everyone, and that's fine. It takes work to communicate. But my in experience it leads to deeper, more meaningful relationships. That jerk in the first video is punching down. Not cool at all!
It depends on whether they are 'normal'. In this instance, that means that others should follow the same life patterns as the speaker does. I never have been normal in that sense and I have no desire to be shoved into that crevice.
It would almost be funny if someone in Congress brought this kind of discourse up when trying to justify the ban, but nooo they have to pretend it's about data mining (as if every other social media doesn't also do that)
TT is now back as an agent of the new fascist regime. I saw the message when I checked the app yesterday. Never deleted a social media account so fast in my life.
Genuine question, from a bisexual, nonbinary, and polyamorous person: do y'all think polyamory is inherently queer? Even if the people taking part in the polyamorous relationship are all cishet?
I think it logistically is in many cases, cause in any situation where you have more than two people all in a relationship together….what group of three people could be compatible with each other that isn’t composed of at least one queer person?
@doglover7641 Fair point but remember in a polycule not everyone has to be a romantic or sexual partner of everyone else. The structure can be whatever is acceptable for everyone involved, just more than two people. This does remind me of the jokes my circle makes about so called "love triangles" If at least one queer person isn't involved that's not a triangle.
I don't have a problem with polyamoury as long as all parties involved know what they're getting into. Saying poly people have a "look" is just plain coldhearted! Come on people, be nice!
Maybe now these people can get a hobby. I've had queer people hate me for being vegan or call polyamory abuse. Like people online just need a hobby. Also they don't understand the difference between polayamory, open relationships and cheating. Communication and consent actually matter to people like me.
You're right Lynn, that last person summed it all up perfectly. I've never been in a polyamorous dynamic (unless you count dating multiple people in my first year of college and being completely honest with everyone about it) but I can definitely see the potential value in it. That said, I just look like an ordinary, middle-aged, Jewish mama. 🤷♀
@ True, nothing wrong with having a type or interest in aesthetics, but I think because I'm pansexual I've loved all sorts of people, so it feels more alien to me to have that as the main priority. Then of course, we have the people using looks as a reason to judge others😅
Will high school ever end? Anyway, this is a strange and interesting subject that I don't know anything about. What was that first guy even saying about 9s and 10s??
:40 clearly you don't understand anything about being poly. "Share your partner" What if, and I'm just spitballing here, the people involved don't own anyone but themselves and want their partners to be happy and fulfilled even in the ways they can't personally provide? Second person is cool
Yes!!! Thank you so much!!! My girlfriend is poly and I myself and monogamous! I have never once thought of her relationships as “sharing” just her being happy with people that she loves! Genuinely seeing her happy makes me so very happy! I know my case is strange but thank you for actually understanding when so many dont!!
@@spirit6267 It doesn't hurt that I'm ambi-amorous, just very sarcastic. 😉 (For those who don't know the term that's like being bisexual but for relationship structure. Fine with monogamy but also with polyamoury)

"Hot" people usually aren't in one because it isn't a poly relationship that their men try to get them into... Maybe THAT'S why (cheating situation or the man wanting to have his cake & eat it too) Normal looking people are most likely friends beforehand, have better communication, and thus, it works out and you see those people more often than not in an ACTUAL TRUE poly relationship

That's the entire basis of American society.

Same reason cishets are so interested in queer people's lives (those that are,) target acquisition. They want someone to punch down on. Either that or they're interested and think they shouldn't be.
It's something they don't understand. At best they wanna get it. At worst they think it's "evil" or "amoral" or "against god" or w.e.
I think that most people like that regardless of the topic have a secret interest or yearning in the direction of the, er, *taboo* activity.
they just want to feel superior.

why does the guy asking why polyamorous people "look like that" look like a stereotype of a polyamorous man
LITERALLY
Hilariously, I know about three polyamorous folks who look exactly like the first guy 😂
heck based on the people who run the poly booth in the pride i belong to poly people come in all kinds of shapes and sizes
Maybe what he meant was happy. Or satisfied. I guess I've been doing it too long to know what "like that" looks like.
