The first day of filming for The Flash movie in Glasgow, Scotland. We see Batman riding a motorbike and other scenes being filmed as well as film crew working between takes.
Must be cheap as chips compared to filming anywhere else. I was night shift doing security when world war z was being filmed. I was stationed at some of that footage just outside John st where you see the big pillars on the building. 2 young guys decided to jump in a camera truck and drive it 500 yards down the st before bailing because it was left hand drive. Also. They left the ignition keys in all the visors of the American cars. Cara you stuff. Can’t do that in Glasgow 😂
It’s because American architecture is actually British…and the main thing American cities tax film companies to hell. Like they are really greedy, so all films are really made in Canada, Ireland, U.K. Europe etc…. America is a nut house, California taxes are insane. 🤯🤯🤯
@@hanniffydinn6019 Yes a lot of “historic” architecture is. However the majority of American cities are made up of skyscrapers and modern architecture, as opposed to anything really historic, and therefore differ greatly to cities in Britain/ elsewhere in Europe (i.e. we rarely build skyscrapers and have way more visible history). Another big difference would be the overall layout of our cities: US cities = planned grid pattern + wide, car centric streets/ European cities = naturally developed over time + narrower, less car friendly streets. Glasgow is (I believe) the only city in Europe that was built using this type of grid pattern, and therefore this makes it a rather good stand in for American “type” cities.
@@tamaracarter1836 sure, but remember it’s not just outdoor street scenes. There are a lot of big studios in the U.K./Ireland. For example marvel films like guardians of the galaxy 1 were shot in the U.K., as well as many now classics like alien, aliens, Star Wars et al…. In the end it’s about taxes and competent ready to go crews and special effects houses in London.
I seen the bike at the necropolis last time they filmed before lockdown it seems like an eternity, keep up the vids mate great content especially for people that cant outdoors
You know in just this short I as many get to see Batman . The filming of the 5th Indiana Jones myself and who knows how many didn't even get to see Indiana Harrison Ford in action on the streets .
I'm just wondering why Glasgow is the place to go for location shooting at the moment. Maybe coincidence - Gotham City and New York (for Indiana Jones 5) have architecture very similar to Glasgow.
Part of it is the similar look and also the fact that London, Manchester and Edinburgh are far to recognisable. Birmingham is, of course, a complete shithole.
@@bingsinatra5283 PS. Did you know that Glasgow has its own circular (in opposite directions) subway system? It's really good! You walk down some steps and you're on the platform.
We couldn't get sitting down in George square to rest our feet and have our coffee because of this. Can't they do it in Glasgow green or somewhere else.
The amount of filming in Glasgow over the last few years has been impressive long may it continue.

You know in just this short I as many get to see Batman .
The filming of the 5th Indiana Jones myself and who knows how many didn't even get to see Indiana Harrison Ford in action on the streets .
Why Batman was not mentioned even a single time in the CW Flash?

The street grid layout of Manhattan is based on Glasgow City Centre.

No
I think they chose that location for specific reasons ie the architecture
@@valentine75 I enjoy a good moan now and again 🤣🤣🤣
@@lobsterclown5224 yes really such an inconvenience. They should stick to Hollywood 🤣🤣🤣
Yes. Glasgow Green is famously similar to Gotham City.
