Even in Season 1 when Jon took his vow at the Night's Watch in it he said he , " would wear no crowns" Foreshadowing. I agree though, he should have been King. The one who doesn't seek power is usually the best type of ruler, so saying he doesn't want it is pointless. He was a leader. That being said there was a ton of foreshadowing that 1) Jon wouldn't be King 2) Dany was like her father the Mad King and would go mad herself 3) that Bran would be King. It would've been far better if bran was able to actually show people what he saw, see Jon and Dany mentally attending Rhaegar and Lyanna's wedding, if for no other reason than 1)it would've confirmed Jon's heritage 2) it also would've shown Dany that what Bariston Selmy said about Rhaegar being a good man was true, that he wasn't what people said after the rebellion, he wasn't an evil man who kidnapped and raped an innocent young woman.
I never realized until now that the prophecy said that Azor Ahai’s coming will be indicated by things like “after a long summer when the stars bleed”. Arthur Dayne from Starfall was killed just while Jon was a newborn
The saddest thing is that the horrible treatment Catlyn put him through and she never got to knew the truth that her husband was loyal and she tortured the poor boy without reason .
Unfortunately a bad ending ruins any chances this show will carry a good legacy. It's become an example of how not to end a good series. Jon being the heir amounted to nothing despite all the clues to it meaning something far greater than just him being the heir to the throne. Oh well.
And ... to the topic of the video ... That's why the Dragon let him ride him - as the Dragon knew he was a Targaryen. This makes sense in that animals can have a very strong sense of smell. Jon's scent could have told the Dragon he was a Targaryen. .
I didn't care if Jon got the throne or not, as long as he found out who his mother was and his real identity. What I did want was him creating his own destiny. He should've had the choice to join the wildlings, rather than be forced into it because no one knew or appreciated what he did.
I never read the books but now that I'm watching House of the dragon, these scenes take on so much more significance regarding the targaryens and their bloodline. Such a cool story
Because Drogon knew Jon had killed her right after he did. But he still didn't kill Jon. Instead he burnt the throne. Because he knew that power had killed Dany. Not Jon.
Khoa Tran i think Ned might’ve told his children that he beat him in one on one combat. not mentioning that Howland Reed stabbed him in the back before Ned delivered the final blow
He lied because stabbing in the back isn't a fair or clean kill in sword play. He didn't want them to think Arthur died in a shit way. It would also make people disrespect Ned. Remember when Jamie refused to hurt Ned anymore after the Soldier stabbed him in the leg? Similar thing.
I always figured he did it to protect Howland's reputation. Stabbing someone is the back is considered dishonorable. At the same Howland saved his life. He didn't want to dishonor his friend. Ned kept a lot of secrets. He also knew Robert's rebellion was built on a lie, but hid that as well to protect Robert and Jon.
@@Golgari213 not clean in a duel or a tournament but nothing wrong in a battle. @@TheStinalee201120 fr 😂 heard as well they might be making a spin off show about jon living his life beyond the wall 😭😂😂😂
@@BC08 Foreshadow for what exactly?
It would've been far better if bran was able to actually show people what he saw, see Jon and Dany mentally attending Rhaegar and Lyanna's wedding, if for no other reason than
1)it would've confirmed Jon's heritage
2) it also would've shown Dany that what Bariston Selmy said about Rhaegar being a good man was true, that he wasn't what people said after the rebellion, he wasn't an evil man who kidnapped and raped an innocent young woman.
This is actually one of the saddest scenes in the whole show. Ned has to kill his hero. Lyanna dies leaving Jon with no parents. It’s all so tragic.
I still get goosebumps watching this scene (in 2024)
So what's the plan? You're going to write a comment and let the world know when you watch it but don't get chills this time?
I never realized until now that the prophecy said that Azor Ahai’s coming will be indicated by things like “after a long summer when the stars bleed”. Arthur Dayne from Starfall was killed just while Jon was a newborn
The saddest thing is that the horrible treatment Catlyn put him through and she never got to knew the truth that her husband was loyal and she tortured the poor boy without reason .
Great edit, I love the blending of both scenes! CHILLS!
Truly the best show ever. It will continue to stand the test of time for decades to come, our children's children will still watch and enjoy GoT.
Not the end tho. They butchered the ending of the show.
Jon's scent could have told the Dragon he was a Targaryen.
.
This is an unbelievable scene. Just extraordinary
I didn't care if Jon got the throne or not, as long as he found out who his mother was and his real identity. What I did want was him creating his own destiny. He should've had the choice to join the wildlings, rather than be forced into it because no one knew or appreciated what he did.
Jon would have chosen either way, and his heritage can remain a secret to avoid another Targaryen sitting on the throne.
If you look up the word "honorable" in the dictionary, you'd find a picture of Ned Stark.
"Must have been quite the woman to make Ned Stark forget his honour" Robert Baratheon had no idea how right he was
I never read the books but now that I'm watching House of the dragon, these scenes take on so much more significance regarding the targaryens and their bloodline. Such a cool story
Call me a lunatic but I whole heartedly want Jon to ride Drogon and claim his throne
I'm hoping that is what his series will ultimately lead to
@@TheStinalee201120 series has ended
@@inaratypes5906 they announced a Jon Snow sequel.
I cannot see how Drogon will let Jon ride after seeing he killed his mother. Drogon is the actual last dragon.
Because Drogon knew Jon had killed her right after he did. But he still didn't kill Jon. Instead he burnt the throne. Because he knew that power had killed Dany. Not Jon.
Did Ned Stark lie on saying he defeated Arthur Dayne? On a technicality, he didn't.
"Defeated" is a lie. "Killed" is probably how he told the story.
If anyone claims Ned is dishonorable because of this, then they have to know that no battle if fought with equal number of men on both sides, there is always something favouring one side. Ned came for his sister, not for a fight
Ser Arthur Dayne is such a badass
Apparently he could slice through you with one hand whilst taking a piss with the other lol
i love the music at the very end
If in Dorne bastards last names are Sand, and in Winterfell Snow. In High Garden probably be “Grass or vegetables” and in Catle Rock probably “Stone” ? Hahaahaha lol 😂
for high garden the surname is Flowers and the surname Stone is used for the bastards of Vale.
Flowers: The Reach
Hill: The Westerlands
Pyke: The Iron Islands
Rivers: The Riverlands
Sand: Dorne
Snow: The North
Stone: The Vale of Arryn
Storm: The Stormlands
Waters: The Crownlands

So Emma Stone is a Lannister bastard
What were Joffrey Myrcella And Tommen Called then 🤣
so depressing watching this knowing how it ends, Holy sh-t it could have been so good. What a shame
Need more of Sir Arthur Dayne he's like a Double Dragon character but with swords
I just noticed something. Bran can see everything, he even knew where Jon was born, but he didn't know that his mother and father were married and that Jon's not really a bastard?!!
Bran said something once (i don't remember which episode).. like he can't see something specific in the past unless he is really looking for it.
@@hira6560 Yes, I forgot that, i remember it now. Thank you.
It's like an Internet search engine. It's all about what you put in to find your information.
@@hira6560 He probably wondered who Jon's mother was and looked for that.
@@abbieb8130 I'm guessing he was looking for his fathers memory's and stumbled on to the biggest one lol
Makes me cry every time i see this for 2 reasons:
1) finding out he was nvr a bastard which he didnt like nd
2) how they butchered the ending 😭 the Prince that was promised but nvr could be😢
00:11 when a philosophy student is home for christmas and they're telling their grandma about uni
I don't know how many of you will like this but the transition from baby Aegon eyes to Jon, knowing Ned protected Jon, took the secret to his grave. Just like Snape did for Lily, protecting Harry.
I'm not comparing the scenes both the scenes are different but it's beautifully written in history of Cinema.
So... imagine jon having the targaryens platinum hair, what a problem would it be for ned
Well i think so lyanna black hair Regar whit white hair like targaryen jon white hair. lyyana was raped by a targaryen whit white hair lyanna ned stark sister and al of a sudden ned has a son whit white hair whe he has black hair ot they put it together they will figure it out they won't believe that ned stark layed whit a targaryen after what one of them raped his sister
Sams reaction is like when a middle class kid tells their mum they like death metal
Bran thinking: doesn't matter if they know, I'll be the king in the end -_-
The best swordsman in all of GOT history
5:24 you can count a little malice in Ser Daynes eyes, even though he is the coldest professional he still needs a touch of rage to engage in his craft.
His gaze said: Do you know how fucked you are now?
“I became the three eyed raven”
Sam: OHHH 👁️👄👁️
its almost as if Ser Arthur Dayne knew a little more about the entire situation (including the future that is to come of this situation)
My father beat him… THree eye raven… did he?! There was so much savagery in that passive aggressive comment 😂😂😂
I like how young Ned Stark is just like "weeeeeeell, shit."
Sure, Bran can see things that happened in the past, things happening right now all over the world, but can he see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
Bran probably loves Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Never hurts to have someone watch your back
I feel like this could've all been avoided if they explained the situation beforehand.
No one would believe Rhaegar didn’t kidnap Lyanna, Jon and the Kingguard would still get Roberts wrath
He's never been a bastard --- the violin music gives chills everytime
And to think Bran knows all this and still made himself king lol
We all need a friend like sam ❤
So howland reed also knows the truth with Ned ? Such a loyal friends
Damn, still has me tearing up after all these years.
smh Lyanna getting married in the light of the seven instead of in front of a weirwood tree.
Which I think she will in the books, because the only way for Bran to look into the past is through weirwood trees.
Absolutely outstanding scene… just incredible.
His sword made its way from being stuck in the ground to back in its sheath
Look closely, the sword on the left comes from the ground.
Just pause at 4:02 and you can see it was stuck on the ground and he drawed it from it
He has 2 swords look at 3:09
A song(Jon) of fire(Rhaegar) and ice(Lyanna).
The soundtrack is so good when Ser Arthur Dayne and Ned was talking
THAT VISERYS' WIG THO!
Omg you r right
I get MAD goosebumps every time I watch this scene
evil bran didn't tell the incest secret of lanister but wanted to tell the truth
of jon ao bad because he knew it was perfect for him to become king
Wonderful editing 👏🏽👏🏽
Every people loves JON when even they are thinks he was a basterd became king in the north imagine how the Westeros people reaction was he is the Last Targaryen 😭😭🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐🐐
9:02 to 9:22 ,
Cmon man those line from bran.❤️🔥🍀
And those original transition of baby aegon to jon young face reveal .❤️🩹🐉
And that background music make this scene 10/10. 🌹🎻🎷
I bet myself i haven't seen yet in any series or movies that type of rollercoaster of emotions scene 🥹🥶
After seeing this scene i genuinely recognised all previous seasons and emotions in one frame.🥹🧿🐼
This title is backwards, Sam corrected the Three Eyed Raven know as Bran
Still gives me goosebumps
If Lyanna had told Ned the truth he would’ve sided with the Targaryens
He wouldn't. Mad King still must die.
Theres a theory that she did but lysa Tully, Hoster Tully, or Peter beylish stopped or hid the raven or letter to start the war against the mad king.
Doubt it. Why would he side with the targs that killed his dad and brother?
@@closetglobe.IRGUN.NW0 Aerys did that not Rhaegar. If the truth came out Lyanna wasnt kidnapped early on before the battle of the trident than things may have changed especially if ned knew the truth.
@@Themrine2013 it would change very little. Jon and ned would still try to kill aerys for killing family. And we don't know if rhaegar would be fine with that. Even if lyanna told robert and ned she wasn't kidnapped that wouldn't stop Robert and his ego from killing rhaegar
