Is it possible? You guys just get better and better with every with every show. Super smart with your IG countdown to 11am Tuesday spots. You have definitely found your groove. Ha, what a long way from your early days on Motoring ( which is still my favourite TV car show, BTW )!
For the storage test the soft top is removable. That's what we do when winter comes around, soft in the summer and off it comes when we put the hard top on in the winter.
I bought a Chief (same color) last year. Mine doesnt have that white 4x4 sticker on the tailgate. And you mention a soft top, dont have that either. I was sold on the color. Very retro.
The steering wheel buttons are a Chrysler signature. They’ve been around for years & haven’t changed. My grandmothers 99 town n country had those exact buttons.
@Yuri With a regular Jeep (non rubicon) you may look at obstacles and say, "I don't think we can do this." But as long as you have a good line choice and a good driver, you can do WAY more than you'd think. We've taken a stock Jeep wrangler all over and done stuff 10x as hard as this while its raining at 11,000ft. I'd take as stock Jeep over any other stock vehicle out there, the reason the aren't the smoothest and most comfortable vehicle on road is because they are engineered specifically with off-roading in mind, with the ability to go on road. These are incredibly capable vehicles, and this is why they have been around for 75+ years. And also just want to say this is definitely my favorite youtube channel, you guys are awesome. But next time you get review a Wrangler I dare you to try and get stuck, you probably wont XD
@13:33: Soft top under the hard top: When I had my TJ (RIP), we were told to never have both tops on at the same time, because it would wear out the soft top. Has that changed with the JK?? Cause that would be cool-- Just like my Miata :)
FYI, the soft top is in the Jeep like that just for shipping purposes. It's meant to be removed when not in use. And that thing will go ANYWHERE a FJ can.
+TheStraightPipes Have you driven the Base 2.0t Kia Stinger? I cant afford the V6. Just looking for a good daily driver that can also be fun and relatively quick.
No, Yuri, your shirt is for the beach, the Jeep: maybe. Still in holiday mode clearly. Noticed when the Jeep went through the water/mud, two jets of mud sprayed directly onto the windshield, design feature?
Im six foot five and I sat in one of these ...my head would keep banging against the roll bar on top. Disappointed by the JKs etc. I actually fit better in the old TJ jeeps
You guys should check out the various "fire access roads" up north. I made it part way down Pencil Lake Road in my G37 before it quickly became too extreme. There are all kinds of these types of roads up in that area. www.google.ca/maps/dir/44.8086922,-78.368468/44.8704144,-78.2605183/@44.8256167,-78.3652184,12.75z/data=!4m3!4m2!3e0!5i1
Driving an Automatic Jeep is the best. I completely understand why people like manuals, but for Jeeps it's just not necessary. Even when you get the automatic, you can shift between 1,2,3 and 4 so why get a manual?
Because you don't ever shift with the automatic because it's laggy and unsatisfying and the computer doesn't always listen. The whole process of choosing between the gears based on the obstacles you're approaching in real time is completely lost. The Jeep doesn't have eyes. And then there's that whole mess about waiting for the torque converter to load up and never knowing exactly when the wheels will turn and exactly at what speed.
AD1 Look, I'm not trashing manuals at all: I think they're awesome and cool! I take my Wrangler off roading but it mostly spends its time on the road. The reason why I say that an auto is better is that a Jeep isn't a race car. It's a tank. I just feel like if you're going to get a manual, get it in a fast car and it will be more satisfying. Jeeps are great as automatics and you don't have to worry about stalling out on a Boulder.
Just out of curiosity, I am wondering what was the crew car ahead of you which was filming you all the time and crossing almost all the track just like this Jeep did especially when Yuri said something about the ground clearance, and that his Honda Element can't make it through.
Yuri Tereshyn Oh ok good to know that. I drove an Element once and it was really unique and out of the ordinary. I suggest a GMC Envoy XUV(if you can find a good condition one) as a crew car with its retractable roof; it is quite practicle for the cameraman and his gear, and I've seen plenty of cameramen filming while sitting at the back.
Tree holes 3:50, OMG, I was working in Colorado once and I had to use the restroom outside. So I walked away from the main road, not a busy area but I wanted privacy and I walked onto the snow by a tree and before I did what I had to I sank into a tree hole. Luckily it was only about 3 feet (1 meter for you Canadians eehh). I never knew about these tree holes, hey I'm from Florida so give me a break LOL.
You guys should come down and drive the Rubicon Trail. I live so close to it and Lake Tahoe. The Sierras and Tahoe are a beautiful place. I've not taken my JK (yet), but have driven my YJ on 7 Jeep Jamborees.
Ah man, so excited that you guys did the Wrangler Chief! This was honestly the car I was pining for, for the longest time. The runner up? A Miata! (well, MX-5). It's like you guys did this video for me (thanks!) Wanna do a video for a 340i M Sport? You can borrow mine :-)
Excellent video! Thoughts on the UK (Clarkson, May, and Hammond) Top Gear vs the USA version vs The Grand Tour? I realize this is entirely unrelated to the Jeep.
This Jeep is no speed demon but the 3.6L will hold and exceed the speed limit at high altitude in Colorado, where you lose a lot of power... I've been over the Ike Gauntlet dozens of times in our '15 wrangler with bigger tires than this and with lots of cargo.
SICK WHEELING!! Jeep Wrangler has the FJ beat off-road... only vehicle with a solid front axle & short wheelbase since the Ford Bronco. But guys, the tractor shifter is the best! Long throws... never miss a gear.
You are right, the six speeds are slow. I had a 2013 and it was a dog, no passing power at all. If I ever get another Wrangler, I think automatic is the way to go.
Good review of the jeep, but the in between videos makes it not feel like a straight pipe video. Kind of doesn't feel like a serious review. But I can't wait to see Thursdays video. Keeps up the good work guys
Harvey Berry The car is the future are much more relatable if you're from North America same for locations. It's honestly really good after season two and I highly recommend giving it a chance
Did you enjoy our relaxing Sunday drive sending it through the mud? We're super excited for the new Wranglers
TheStraightPipes Where is this Trail?! Really want to get into off-roading but don’t know where to start in the GTA!
Make my Jeep even simpler, bring on the EV version!
+lessdeth69 its coming
Love the idea of a wrangler but I dont know if I would off road beat it enough to be worthwhile.
I thoroughly enjoyed your Sunday drive. Both really entertaining and informative, keep up the good work!
some CGI going on with the grille at 0:06 🤔
defib my fault, I wanted headlights on for the intro and I got lazy
+defib dunno what you're talking about 😉😂
what a mind trip!! i definitely notice that. but, i thought it was a weird glitch.
also caught may attention haha
7:00 "we can run double ads" and an AD kicked in :D
+ElcurionExodus what a coincidence
All I hear is Mr Regular saying: It`s a jeep thing you wouldn` undelstand
Love the Chief! I really like the throw-back paint scheme!
+DirtdragonRS makes sense. It seemed a bit complicated and I didn't really have a place to put it so we left it in
I feel like I know a lot about cars and then I realise I have Yuri level car knowledge. Thank God for Jakub with the enthusiast level knowledge
+Ron Au Hahahha amazing
:-)
appreciated the candid story times and off-topic parts, don't feel bad about including them!
OneObjective once in a while we'll do that!
where in Ontario is this ???? , is it the closest offroad trail from the GTA ?
Slickpete83 would like to know as well!
Looks like “raglan trails” north of Whitby, google map it, I’m not sure yet though.
I bought a Chief (same color) last year. Mine doesnt have that white 4x4 sticker on the tailgate. And you mention a soft top, dont have that either.
I was sold on the color. Very retro.
That's weird
The steering wheel buttons are a Chrysler signature. They’ve been around for years & haven’t changed. My grandmothers 99 town n country had those exact buttons.
Holy shit that’s Raglan Pits, best high school memories were made there!!
@Yuri With a regular Jeep (non rubicon) you may look at obstacles and say, "I don't think we can do this." Your off-roading was like driving on my Grandma's driveway
+steven wentling we did say we were taking it easy
@13:33: Soft top under the hard top: When I had my TJ (RIP), we were told to never have both tops on at the same time, because it would wear out the soft top. Has that changed with the JK?? Cause that would be cool-- Just like my Miata :)

+Michael Smith sounds right
TheStraightPipes Also, forgot to say, great review! I like how you two seemed to genuinely enjoy it.
This is a great channel, this and tfl are my favorite vehicle channel
A whole 17 minutes?? Awesome.
+stea excellent
+TheStraightPipes you are excellent
+Graham White no you are
+TheStraightPipes Have you driven the Base 2.0t Kia Stinger? I cant afford the V6. Just looking for a good daily driver that can also be fun and relatively quick.
+Graham White no we weren't able to. It's coming to Canada in the spring so we only drove the 3.3TT
Love the bonus box test! I wont tell you how many fit.
+sundin57 first comment to point it out 😉👍🏼
Shit! for a second I thought it was going to be the new JL Wrangler
TheVP not yet!
TheVP tweet jeepCanada to give us one!
No, Yuri, your shirt is for the beach, the Jeep: maybe. Still in holiday mode clearly.
Noticed when the Jeep went through the water/mud, two jets of mud sprayed directly onto the windshield, design feature?
+Rich Tube not sure but loved how it looked too!
@6:54 we gotta get to ten minutes man. You got to 17. Triple ads ?
Im six foot five and I sat in one of these ...my head would keep banging against the roll bar on top. Disappointed by the JKs etc. I actually fit better in the old TJ jeeps
Cool video! Do you mind sharing where this trail in Ontario is? It looks like a dedicated off road trail! Thanks!
Perfect way to start my tuesday morning 🙌🏼
Switch from Subie wave to Jeep wave? It would be a great cottage/ weekend vehicle.
+Doug Pickles true
in the intro beginning did anyone notice than jeep grille is stable while whole car shakes at 00:06 seconds
its photoshoped i think.

+Gordon Pratt sweet thanks
anyone notice how the car rolls side to side at 0.05 by the front doesn't as if it's a picture?
Where is the location of this place I would like to take my truck out to this place in the spring
can someone please tell which trail this? i guess it’s in Ontario
Top gear USA wasn't bad. I watched them all and enjoyed them. Not really something I'd recommend someone to watch though
I know you guys haven't been in the 2018 Wrangler yet but new fully loaded Wrangler Rubicon or Raptor?!
+Punch need to try the 2018. But probably still Raptor because you can send it at high speed vs low speed for Jeeps
I knoooww but freedom top! Such a hard choice
You'd go more places in the jeep man. You want balls to the walls then hell yea Raptor. But I'd go jeep
matress in the woods? is this the middle of michigan?
Where were you guys off roading?
Nice video. Where did you guys go to film this? Looking for a place to do some mild off-roading near the GTA....
I do agree than any jeep from jk and up should be bought in automatic but any jeep before then should have a manual
Driving an Automatic Jeep is the best. I completely understand why people like manuals, but for Jeeps it's just not necessary. Even when you get the automatic, you can shift between 1,2,3 and 4 so why get a manual?

does the jeep have a manual mode? like 1 2 3 D ?
ze3bar no. If you put it in drive, you can move the knob left or right to shift between 1-4
Why get a manual? Because I like to shift.
Just out of curiosity, I am wondering what was the crew car ahead of you which was filming you all the time and crossing almost all the track just like this Jeep did especially when Yuri said something about the ground clearance, and that his Honda Element can't make it through.
Nabil Matar it was the Honda Element. I just didn't drive right through the wheel tracks. Honda Element is the best.
Nabil Matar element is better a production car I think
PLEASE drive and review the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and talk about the transmission!!! I love your videos and this channel!!
+Bryce Cooper we'll try
Pretty curious about the mysterious mattress, great vid!
+zakywave yeah very weird
Where is this off road trail?
Why didn't the grill move at 0:05?
BfoSHIZnats my bad
Tree holes 3:50, OMG, I was working in Colorado once and I had to use the restroom outside. ❤️
POWERDOME
+NIAtoolkit the best
Yuri: jUsT cAlL iT a HoOd
Jakub: NO
Feels outdated already since it's not a 2018.
+CalsVidsKids pretend its new
You guys should come down and drive the Rubicon Trail. I live so close to it and Lake Tahoe. The Sierras and Tahoe are a beautiful place. I've not taken my JK (yet), but have driven my YJ on 7 Jeep Jamborees.
It is called a JK in the 2007-2017 Wrangler and JL the 2018 and up
So when is the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 review coming??
Is this something like the end-of-the-line special edition?
+Jeremy Eriksen i guess you can say that. 2018's coming right up!
I drove a 2015 v6 4 door auto Wrangler and I didn't think it was that slow
Taras Pylypiv oh I'm not arguing that, I would buy a 4runner over a Wrangler any day!
I prefer to have an automatic for 4x4 vehicles, and standard for sporty cars.
Furness Prime ya same haha. Honestly depends though
what was the camera car? just got an 18 raptor with the help of ur off road review on it!
Camera car was Honda Element. Congrats on your Raptor, I'm so jealous! - Jakub
0:06 why the headlights and grill dont move with the rest of the car when these two shut the doors the way they do? What photoshopping is in here?
😉
We need you guys to review a 2018 wrangler rubicon when you can
+Flyy Mal tweet jeep Canada
Where is this trail?
Yuri lives for those American Eagle button downs
Shawn Meadows I definitely don't avoid them
Please do a vid with the 2018 models come out I’m looking forward to it!!!
+Rainbow of Sparta we will
where is the trails located?
Hey guys, where is this?
Ah man, so excited that you guys did the Wrangler Chief! This was honestly the car I was pining for, for the longest time. The runner up? A Miata! (well, MX-5). It's like you guys did this video for me (thanks!) Wanna do a video for a 340i M Sport? You can borrow mine :-)
+Maxwell Powers Hahaha that's amazing. You're welcome! We're actually doing a 440i M Package in January 😂
TheStraightPipes nice, can’t wait to see it!
I agree with what you said about top gear.
Why is yuri’s shirt half off
Excellent video! Thoughts on the UK (Clarkson, May, and Hammond) Top Gear vs the USA version vs The Grand Tour? I realize this is entirely unrelated to the Jeep.
Clark Thompson they all have their moments. Classic top gear guys was best because of the history
Yuri, If you want to get a JEEP with EP pricing, let me know. ;)
Nevoexpo i already own a more capable SUV but thanks
Haha, then it might be time to get Jakub to sell his Lexus and the same offer is extended to him.
+Nevoexpo I will! But I'll probably buy another lexus
The manual is better than auto thought if your in the desert or road
Great video as always
Seeing them clean it off is so satisfying lol
I sure do like this channel
+TheRealSh1zz4m awesome
You guys should get a third host and film a Top Gear Canada mini series
I seen this jeep at the local dealer
This Jeep is no speed demon but the 3.6L will hold and exceed the speed limit at high altitude in Colorado, where you lose a lot of power... I've been over the Ike Gauntlet dozens of times in our '15 wrangler with bigger tires than this and with lots of cargo.
SICK WHEELING!! Jeep Wrangler has the FJ beat off-road... only vehicle with a solid front axle & short wheelbase since the Ford Bronco. But guys, the tractor shifter is the best! Long throws... never miss a gear.
Dan C this is true, I never missed a gear
4-Wheeler geek moment: Jeepers prefer stick shifts for water crossings... Keeps the engine on the boil so water doesn't enter through the exhaust!
+Dan C that makes perfect sense
You are supposed to take the soft top out when you have the hardtop on, there’s an orange sticker that comes on it saying that. lol.
Imma do some sick mall crawling in mine!
Do the new JL wrangler review.
i like how the jeep reacts to the mud
+Jesse Ngeno as do we
What's the camera car?
ZROSTARS Honda "Jeep Wrangler" element
Yuri Tereshyn that thing is a beast. Wish they were available in denmark.
What car u guys used for shooting ??
+Yathu prem Lamborghini Urus
They gave u one .. awesome. Hws lambo's first turbo?
You are right, the six speeds are slow. I had a 2013 and it was a dog, no passing power at all. If I ever get another Wrangler, I think automatic is the way to go.
+harrismi7 excellent
Its not girly jeep it’s beautiful asfuck
Jakob is so knowledgeable
Good review of the jeep, but the in between videos makes it not feel like a straight pipe video. Kind of doesn't feel like a serious review. But I can't wait to see Thursdays video. Keeps up the good work guys
+JCORaven1210 thanks! Thursday is back to normal
JCORaven1210 we already did a serious review on the 17 wrangler. This was more of an Offroad adventure :-)
What gopro do you use guys?
Jino Salvador GoPro 1
you guys should do a modded jeep
Uk top gear with jeremy Clarkson, james may and Richard Hammond was the best top gear and always will be
Harvey Berry ya but it's close. Season 3-6 top gear us was really good.
+Harvey Berry yes no doubt
Yuri Tereshyn I only saw the first 2, didnt like them very much. But hey, each to their own
Harvey Berry The car is the future are much more relatable if you're from North America same for locations. It's honestly really good after season two and I highly recommend giving it a chance
you guys are great!
You guys should do a jeep renegade!
Thank you for this video! I ended up buying a Jeep wrangler chief because of it 😂
Still can't believe they don't offer the 5.7L Hemi as an optional engine. The 3.6L Pentastar is underpowered in this rig.
+Mowcowbell new engines coming in 2018!
The 3.5 will have the same power and the 4cyl has less power but a little more torque and I have no idea about the diesel
+Claudio Munoz tons of torque in the diesel
You FJ outperforms a JK off road? Come on guys!
The shirt fits.
mitsubishi montero sport please try it
Tan: Looks good
Jeep: Looks terrible
Did yall get in trouble from Motortrend for "Head to Head"? lol
+carl basbas not yet!
carl basbas were just avoiding gimmick infringement. Anyone else on UA-cam who says "going for a drive" owes us $1 per view
The chief edition isn’t that great however a 2 door jk wrangler is much better as it feels more powerful since it’s much lighter
I love the wrangler but I still prefer the Grand Cherokee.
+Jaikar Chatha grand cherokee review coming up on Thursday!
TheStraightPipes sweet
So motor trend has stopped you from using "head to head" ? 🌚
+Shrey Jain no but they made it popular in the car world haha
Shrey Jain gimmick infringement
You guys are weird. I want a golf R dsg, but a wrangler stickshift please.
