In Petrol cars : first HP then Torque
In Diesel cars : first Torque then HP
Actually both engines first is Torque then Power. But in diesels all comes earlier torque 2000 rpm power 3000 rpw. Petro torque 4000 rpm power 6000 rpm. For me suv/truck/4x4 must be diesel. Evrt else petrol is better. But in Europe we have very very good diesels.....here 3.0 V6 is amaizing. BMW have 3.0 V6 diezels with 0-100 for 4.7 sec etc.. so yep. Merica...no diesels...
@@cc-rc8qj except larger diesels, small ones I agree but big ones under load sound beast.
@@cc-rc8qj do you know toyota v8 turbo diesel in 79 series? Sounds so good...
At the start of the video I was thinking to myself, “Imagine a diesel v6 jeep with a automatic transmission that has launch control.”
Hearing "Torque and horsepower" is like hearing Doug DeMuro say "features and quirks." It just ain't right.
It's weird to me that diesel isn't the default in big 4x4s like this
Because diesels use less fuel. Oil company's pay manufacturers to keep producing inefficienct gas engines. That and gas engines are cheaper to produce.
I wouldn't call the Wrangler necessarily big tbh, it's width and length are similar to an Accord
Everytime yuri says "torque" and "horsepower" he *BECOMES EVEN STRONGER THAN BEFORE!*
Moving into neutral and 4lo with the transfer case you're supposed to be rolling forward at a low speed. If you do that it should shift a lot more smoothly.
@@TheStraightPipes I’m pretty sure the four wheel drive selector is an actual manual lever vs an actuator.
@@e70_x5_guy4 The 4Low selector is unreliable? I don’t really do much off roading especially where 4Low is required. May go through a campground once a year and a State or a National Park once a year. I’m thinking about buying a Willys Sport 4Dr. Trying to decide between a Jeep Wrangler, Toyota 4Runner or Honda Ridgeline. Like an SUV for room as I’m 6foot + we get snow. I’m a middle aged dude living in an urban city in Ohio raising my two little grandkids so... the Ridgeline is the practical choice. The Wrangler is the fun choice. The 4Runner is the reliable choice. Hard to decide between the 3.
Most people wanted a diesel in the wrangler because of the torque for off roading and rock climbing. Not for towing ability really.
Once you drive a modern diesel engine, you can never go back to a NA gas engine. The torque is so addictive!!
Cup holder isn’t an issue in America where a small cup is a large in Canada
@@freebirdp3887 I meant Canada as in the land size. Not the US taking it over.
4 Lo engages way better if you don't hold the brake. You're actually supposed to engage with a very slow roll for easiest engagement. You really don't want to force a cable actuated transfer case.
Great to see your showing the love for Speed Academy!
Just offloaded a 2020 Sahara this weekend completely stock on regular tires. Amazingly capable as is!
I straight up didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. I keep watching and get recommended your videos so I wasn't even aware. Well now I'm subbed! Love you guys!
Love how Americans put diesel on such a pedestal, in Europe diesel means your nans '1.1L 3 cylinder CRDI Kia Rio' 🤣🙃
It’s mostly because you rarely see a diesel in anything but a pickup
People here (American) consider anything before 2L as small economy engines, diesel or not. Pretty unusual, really. I'm not a fan of SUVs, but they are everywhere and for some reason believe that a car like a Honda Accord are not family cars. A friend just bought an Explorer as her family car and it's ridiculous.
botched experiments like the Olds diesel killed Diesel in america for consumer cars, hence the novelty
@@Hempujonsito I think its to do also with the higher fuel cost in Europe, also in many countries diesel is cheaper than petrol (gas), but not in the UK, we even had a 0.8l diesel smart car!
A 4-door wrangler is basically just a family suv.
So happy you guys are wearing those speed academy sweaters!!!!!!!! Love those boys over there. They should get more love then they get. Great content.
I've had a Wrangler of some kind for the last 9 years and love my current 2018 Rubicon. The Bronco looks cool and has some cool new tricks, but I cant see myself ever leaving a Jeep. I will be one of the first in line for the V8.
72K!!!!!?????? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME? THE DAY ANY NEW MOPAR PRODUCT SELLS FOR THE SAME RATE OF THE OLDER VIPERS IS HILARIOUS TO ME...NO FACTORY JEEP IS WORTH 72K UNLESS YOUR SPEAKING OF TRACKHAWKS..
I’ll be curious to hear you guys compare this to the Jeep Hybrid coming out!
Dang I’ve never seen a Jeep do a burnout except for Stradman’s
Love fall in Canada and watching all the trees changing colors 😍
Just came across your channel and love the reviews. Subscribed.
Nice hp & tq figures. I used to have a 2003 Dodge 3500 with the Cummins diesel and it was 235hp and 460 lb/ft of tq. Diesels have come a long ways.
Any vehicle with a blue exterior and beige/brown interior makes me go MMM! Looks so good!
Great drivetrain! I had an Ram 1500 4WD with it and I loved that truck.
Fall, wherever they film, is beautiful
Great episode thank you. I have a 2 door JL. I love my Jeep!
Got my contact winter contact tires today, inspired by this channel!
I have the door stopper hinge go in the door before. You just need to tread the screw in while the door is almost closed a few turns and while its in, just open the door and it'll come out, then completely tread it back in!
Yuri and Jakub: make sure you guys get your winter tires cold weather coming soon!
Me: Laughs in Floridian
I like how you guys got that visor test done on the Gladiator 🤣 best part of this video
You should do a series of subscriber cars that a lot if I’m not sure if it’s been recommended before but it would be cool to see some older or slightly different cars. Great video
The intro music ALWAYS suits the car they are going to review🎶 🚗
Just wanted to say cliche corner looks amazing this time of year with all the foliage 🍁🍂🍃
I definitely peeped the interior of the Mojave gladiator when you were complaining about the cup holders. Can’t wait for that video
But has FCA fixed the electrical problem it was plagued with in the beginning?
I almost paid the extra for the diesel. Almost. Then I realized how reliable the 3.6 gas has been vs. the diesel. Save the cash, get the gas and get more off road goodies.
Love your show. I really need to know how did you get a truck plate on a Wrangler? Thanks and keep up the great work.
"10, 11.....14 aaaand 16." Damn Yuri really has trouble with counting huh
We didn't show the boring boxes without names on them so we could fill it up with every box for an accurate count
You guys are so entertaining idc what car you do even your minivan reviews are amazing.
The KJ had this roof thing here. That was a disaster. Now its it's back.
Its still so cool though
Yes, Tim the Toolman Taylor reference! Totally made that same reference the other day
I think you guys are the best reviewers out there.
Nice amped up intro Yuri, glad you listened bud😌
Nice watch update ! Really like the GMT :)
I’m so savage, I get to StraightPipes videos before UA-cam sends me a notification
Can you guys do the silverado 3.0 diesel i know you guys have done the sirrea but I would love the silverado thanks 😊
Love my ecodiesel! Wish some companies would come out with some delete options though :(
Well if this engine is as unreliable as the v6 eco-diesel has been so far, you should be able to find one of these a lot cheaper on a trail near you
Doug saw this and said, let me drop the Bronco video
That music at the beginning is wonderful
I love these, but their reliability has consistently been terrible, especially the diesel versions. Its sad tbh but at least they're fun
Every time a reviewer pops the hood on one of these, I see a repair & maintenance nightmare. And they like to minimize the cost: "a $3,500 option," when it's actually a $6,000 option if you're happy to row your own gears in the gasoline V6 vs the automatic tranny required for the diesel.
I love my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel got less torque then the new ones but still fun to drive around a Grand Cherokee with a diesel. Gonna get a tune once someone gets a CARB approved one through. Only problem with EcoDiesels then and now is they're incredibly expensive options (have to include the transmission up charge as well ~$6000)
I own a 2018 4 door JLU. Its such a fun vehicle. I am tempted by the diesel.
Shoutouts to that soundtrack to start this show!
Have 10k miles on my ecodiesel Sahara & it's been great.
I am getting 28.2 to 28.9 average mpg with mine...(thats average, straight highway is 33.1) it's also a Sahara.... don't know where they are getting their $$$price from.... my every option, premium stereo , leather seat Sahara Altitude was 48,252... I am willing to bet the negative comments are from people that do not own one, and have no first hand knowledge of driving one..... they are great!
rocking a rolex GMT master II ! 🔥🔥🔥
Ooo, thanks for the Still Whiz music recommendation Jakub!! Love the ol' Still Dre beat in the background.
Still DRE is the best so anyone that samples it automatically wins too
Flashing the Pepsi GMT eh? No longer repping those poverty watches. Dude can't help himself 🤣
Does it come with a manual transmission?
I think I want you guys to review the Bronco more than I want a Bronco.
Here I am in India (a diesel fan) driving my 1.3 l multijet diesel Suzuki swift and thinking oh my God the torque! It's 75 hp and 200 nm.Thinking of modding it with intake, remap, hybrid turbo's coilovers. Well it still feels fast and fun.
I love your reviews.
Does it have to do filter clean for emission do you have to go on highway to clean out
Did you lock the rear dif for that burn out? Or is it a limited slip axle?
Love the speed academy rep!
The + & - on the shifter is oriented the right way!!
The earliest I've even been to posting on one of your videos. Glad I'm here and I'll take the Gladiator too Yuri
@@TheStraightPipes 🤣🤣🤣 I've been subscribed for probably longer than a year now. You guys are amazing and I'm glad you responded ✊
The reason why it doesn’t float anymore is they change the steering box because of all the complaints. The steering box is now made out of steel instead of aluminum and they change the gearing.
Living for this intro music
Great review! These are really nice but like Unicorns. I just purchased a 3.6L Rubicon 2dr and I really wanted the diesel but there wasn't one to be had within the solar system. I didnt have the sac to go with the 2L. I love mine though.
Legit shocked at the price. I'd definitely get (lease) a base Defender over this
This kind of sunroof works well with snow?
Ecodiesel is a fire waiting to happen. I've had 2 friends burn down at less than 100k from EGR sticking open... sold mine asap
Nice touch with the Doug Demuro Bronco tease!
Most vehicles in North America would make more sense with a diesel
electrikoptik That is not completely right. Diesel is cheaper is most European countries, but the diesel equivalent for a petrol often is 3.000 to 4.000 euros more expensive. You have to calculate if it makes sense for you to buy a diesel based on the Kilometers you do on average and if it fits the car
@@electrikoptik Getting a Diesel version of a car does cost extra in europe, for example: a BMW 320i (gasoline) costs 39.000€ and a 320d (diesel) costs 42.000€. The engines are more complicated to make, so they are more expensive. But how you said, the fuel is cheaper so people who drive a lot tend to take a diesel over a gasoline/petrol engine.
In North America and where I live in ny diesel cost around a dollar or more power gallon. I couldn't imagine putting in 18 bucks more every 2 days in my altima and not sure about diesel maintenance. Im getting around 36mpg. With diesel i might avg low 40's. Not that big of a difference compared to the added cost of a diesel in America.
You can't get the diesel in the 2 door Wrangler, so is it really cooler than the 4 door?
Wasn’t the trans case lever hard because you were on the brake? I have to let off the brake in my liberty, even in neutral, to get in 4low.
I'm guessing the boys had a change of heart on the 718 Spyder/Boxter. 8:22.
Jakob, what watch are you wearing?
Finally! Jeep has been promising this powerplant for decades! Now if they just make a 2 door Gladiator with this engine!!!!! I've owned 4 Wranglers!
Diesel that to eco ? How
Rocking the Speed Academy swag!
It's the Wrangler for me, in blue!
I am looking forward for you guys to try out the jeep 392😉
You put the seat belt in the right position to have a SEED ACCADEMY on your hoodie, I got that.
Can't wait for you guys to do the turbo 4 version dunno if you guys get that in canada, alot of mixed reviews in the states
It's good to see Jeep make some interesting stuff, but the new Bronco is captivating.
Is there a 2-door Diesel version?
vibing to the safari music 🦒
Wait ? Is the 4L selector not actually mechanically attached?
Boyz Nobodies afeared of snow now.. but does it have bronco 37' tyres? Torques also great for high alt power retention as you wotn fade as bad laiden or unladen
Smashing pumpkins on the radio? ..you guys got yourself a like 🥇😎
Great colour!
Now this is a JEEP that I would actually buy!
Make your Jeep look like hot fire 🔥🔥🔥 Check out Blackhorn Offroad wheels (5% off with discount code 'straightpipes'): blackhornoffroad.com
I think it's steering better because jeep started putting new beefed up steel steering boxes. I got the old aluminum steering box replaced in my gladiator and it now steers the same as you describe.
I'm not a fan of American vehicles, especially SUVs, but I get why people love them. I did see an F80 BMW M3 yesterday, which looks a lot better than the new one.
It’s not bad it’s a little pricey for what it is though I never thought I would here Diesel in a Jeep which is cool and I love how you guys switched it up by saying torque first but with that I see why lol I hope you guys had a great thanks giving take care guys you the best
@Tommy Senpai there is ?
how much price for this car ???
