the byzantine style was established before the classical ottoman era. byzantine music has its origin, in former roman, greek, and also eastern pre islamic traditions,(sassanid/persian) but that doesn´t mean, "turkic". Because turkic traditions, also are a l product of assimilation and setteled in a later era,not the antiquity. so to be accurate, its false to say that it was "turkish". the similarities lie in the same cultural origin, and byzantine and ottoman culture kind of metamophised into each other, thats the product of several of hundreds of years of living and fighting for the same space, impossible to see both seperately, though. there is a relation, but it is not the exactly same thing.
Turkish music is a mixture of persian and byzantine music. All turkish music modes' name are persian, nahawand husaini jiharkah and so on. the origin of turks is not middle east but somewhere in mongolia. So they copied things like music and food after they became middle eastern
