- Royal St David's - more affectionately known as 'Harlech' - is a truly unique place. Golf has been played here since 1894 when Harold Finch-Hatton was initially using the land to practice his boomerang skills on the links. The club was generally a second club for people heading to the coast, much like Westward Ho!
We had a superb time here, having stopped over in town after Welshpool we were on the links at first light, with an afternoon game lined up at Borth & Ynyslas!
The 750 year old castle that sits above the links at all times has its own unique history and is a UNESCO heritage site. IN fact, the castle was the last to fall in the revolt which ousted Charles I from power in 1642.
We recorded a fascinating podcast with member Richard Fisher - the clubs archivist and one of Britains leading historians to bring the story to life, and will be released on Friday 10th May.

Great stuff lads. Had a cracking day there on Sunday! Drying out nicely after a long winter
Really good video. Been a member here for 58 years. Never ever get tired of playing it. Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic links course. Really tests your game to the max. Played it twice (in a day) last June. With the castle always in view and glimpses of the magnificent dunes near the sea, it is one of the those special places in our golfing world that make you appreciate how lucky we are to be there. Last year's Club President also ensured that we had a proper lunch between rounds. 🙂
This is really really good stuff. Love the boomerang anecdote!
Tremendous photography and good golf craic again. James Braid area for some joyous play. Great eye opener to add the area to the bucket list ⛳️
Great video! I’m playing there twice this weekend for the first time and this video has gotten me even more excited than I already am
RSD looks solid! Great stuff as usual. Sam looking like the swing is dialed in!
Beautiful golf course and surrounding area.
The course has a good number of members from Japan and you don’t see the sea from the course itself.
Not sure that global sea levels were that much higher (if any higher) a thousand years ago. Just because a castle is near the coast doesn't mean it was once
