The history of St Andrews is remarkable, but whilst it might be the most iconic course in the modern day, it’s title as the Home of Golf was not always so assured.
It’s also really interesting to look at the Course itself. Renowned by students of the game as one of the greatest courses in existence, and yet many of its first time or occasional visitors leave underwhelmed.
We’ve been really lucky to create this series to celebrate the life and legacy of Old Tom, and thank you for taking the time to watch it! - Спорт

@@CookieJarGolf Back in December 2018, in brisk winds and a low standing winter sun. Played four ball match play. Me and my father versus two members from the R&A. Lovely day, and the match would have been a walk in the park if they hadn't used every single "club rule" to remain in the match. Would do anything to experience it again.

@@CookieJarGolf If you're ever down in a match at the Old Course after 9 holes you may call upon the "Gallant Colonel Dallmeyer". He grants you an extra stroke every hole until the match is tied again. It sure makes every match interesting down to the wire.
😂 we played Dallmeyer rules at Muirfield last year. It’s a great way to keep everyone in the match - also ‘East Lothian rules’ is good if you’re playing somewhere with a LOT of trouble around off the tee

Fantastic work gentlemen, as a scotsman living for decades abroad this series had me welling up many a time..presented with passion, respect and knowledge this is a must for all of us that love and cherish this beautiful and noble game. Thanks again.
I was 23 and had my student friends drop me off at 6:50 in the morning in 1993. I was placed on the stand by queue and had a chance to play at 09:00. I parred 17 and 18 coming in, hitting my Ping 1 iron. Then took a train back to Edinburgh. Many years later, I consider returning to the Home of Golf to retrace this epic journey and visit this almost Holy place again.
