Hey man I appreciate the honest and well thought out review. I apologize about the 6 month wait, really should not have opened preorders that early. The manufacturing method we use is not shared by any other company in the $30-40 case segment (co-molding), other companies use heat press which is far easier/cheaper to manufacture. The pursuit of quality led us to also be incredibly late to release. Regarding the asymmetry, yes the front of the iPhone is symmetric but the rear is not, even the speaker grilles aren't. We had to account for the camera in our design, the iPhone 7+/8+ & 7/8/SE cases are symmetric due to the smaller cameras. Simply put, if we did not extend that corner you mentioned, the durability would be shot, that was top priority for this case. The screen protector included is genuine FLOLAB glass, this glass sells for $25 alone. Lastly, yes we are way behind on iPhone 12 & accessories but it's because we are a 3 man team, every dollar we make is going into gen-2 production, really hope to improve this as we grow. Anyways sorry for the essay, just wanted to explain the why. Keep up the awesome reviews!
It does speak volumes that you are quite open to critic and humble enough to appreciate the valid points in the review. A big part of a reputable company / brand is their image, and in my opinion this is very important. I am looking forward to getting my Phone Rebel case.
Summary: 1. It’s a protective case with great build quality. 2. The screen protector included is excellent 3. The only thing he hates about the first gen product is the asymmetrical design. Watch the whole video still because there’s a lot of explanations and stuff. And it supports the channel.
Honestly I don’t get the complaints. I have one and I love it! It’s strong plus the design is amazing. I feel like you were harder on the case because it took so long for you to get it. I got mine in 8 days
He didn't complain much aside from how long it took and the atrocious asymmetrical design. Everything else he gave praise to. Even the 'questionable' glass that turned out to surprise him. Especially for a "$30 all in one package".
@@o4komodo I have PR Rebel case on my iPhone XS and have been using Pitaka magnetic holder in my car since I received my case (in one week!). It holds my iPhone VERY strong in the car and does not fall off the magnet even when I drive over speed bumps :) However, the smaller magnetic holder that I owned before the Pitaka did not hold the phone as well because the magnets on PR case spaced out farther.
@@Mr69IK Yeah but that's the thing. You're using a PITAKA product with a REBEL product----where I'm pretty sure Rebel mentioned accessories coming. And... If you purposely built your product with magnets in mind it's pretty logical to have your own magnetic accessories. I'm using Pitaka on my iPhone X and thus have MANY Pitaka accessories in 4 cars and at home. My newest phone isn't supported by Pitaka so I slapped on a metal plate and it holds fantastic as well.
I emailed phonerebel about iphone 12 cases and they said that iphone 12 cases are coming in February 2021 EDIT: They are probably coming earlier then I said because I contacted phonerebel again and they said it’s coming sooner then February!
That’s a little to late but Apple does not support Everythingapplepro at all since he’s done quite a few sketchy videos on data breaching hardware and how to use it along with jailbreaking.

Same i was waiting for this review from long time. But i got little disappointed as i find it little unfair because this time he didn’t do the drop test !! And without drop test i think this review is incomplete !
I have this case on my 11 right now and I’ve dropped my phone a lot but still no cracks or even scratches.. usually when I put on tempered glass the glass breaks but even that doesn’t crack or scratch. Amazing case.
Honestly the asymmetrical complaint he has is kinda over exaggerating. I definitely acknowledge the asymmetry but I hardly even notice it in normal daily use.
Mous cases are great the fact that they have lifetime warranty is a huge plus. You can tell them an accident happen send pictures and they will send you a new one for free and you keep the old one. They are well built and the different materials feel great and are eye catching. The raised edges are a bit sharp but they protect a lot if you like putting your phone face down. The protecion is good too I have dropped mine from about chest height into a pile of rocks by accident and it was perfect. Build quality from the inside could be a little better but nothing to be worried about

Interesting. This is one of my favorite cases for the 11Pro and just bought a second. Also, shipping update, I bought the 2nd one this morning and I just got a USPS tracking number. Anyway, I really like the look, the feel and the protection. Totally subjective I know. Great vid
I really like this case and I love the effort EAP put into it, from the case itself to the box and accessories. Unlike latercase which looks very cheap but still costs the same as this
I bought this case and it arrived a week later in Europe. Case is strong, does what it promises and looks good and the naked sides make it feel super slim. I did not apply their included tempered glass and kept using my own but the borders of the case lifted the old one up so I might have to replace it to theirs eventually. This is a high quality product. Your 6 months delivery is due to it being a pre order.
Just an update, they’ve completely fixed the shipping issues. I also messed up my stickers and needed extras so I emailed customer support and they sent extras! They actually sent the extras before responding to my email. It was amazing. 10/10 case and customer support. He’s right about the build quality.

I get if you hate the design aesthetic, but that’s very subjective and will differ based on the individual so it doesn’t really help us make a decision unless we have the same tastes in design. It’s plain to see how reluctant you were to give this case a recommendation even tho it’s shown to be objectively good on many aspects and features you measures all cases by. I just thought you would be more objective and not let your personal distaste of the aesthetics give you hesitation to recommend an otherwise great case for the value. Tone of voice and body language matters too. You’ve given plenty of other positive sounding reviews with much more eagerness in the past. I personally think some of them look like hot garbage but that doesn’t mean they’re bad cases, it’s just a matter of personal style choice. Anyway I hope this feedback is helpful for making better reviews in the future whether you agree or disagree.
I’ve had one of the Gen 1 “Rebel” cases for 13 months, on my iPhone 11 ProMax. I agree it took a looooong time to get it. But good things come to those that wait. MULTIPLE 50’ drop test is pretty incredible. I COMPLETELY disagree with your “symmetrical” issues. The phone itself, with a cluster of lenses in the upper left hand corner… IS asymmetrical. The Rebel case has protection where you NEED IT. Corners, face and back. In a fall, the phone can’t hit on all at the same time and the most likely place is the corners. Sou put the emphasis on protection there and also the lenses, which protrude… I understood the issues with the supplied stickers, so never installed them. After 13 months? NO scratches! The corners are doing their thing. The phone is HUGE, yet FEELS still like a “naked” phone. And still with excellent protection. When I say “naked”… I carried this phone around for weeks with NO protection, while waiting for delivery. It’s slippery and nerve wracking to carry around naked. With the Rebel case, there are 4 grippy corners and the back, that give a “toe hold” and grip confidence. Anyway, design wise, I was sold. I bought it. The startup was late on delivery. BUT! I have dropped this $1,500 phone (big memory) more than a dozen times to HARD pavement. Not from 50’… no. But from waist level, typical for most. The case itself and especially the phone, ARE PRISTINE. What else do you want? I did not drop it from lack of grip, I have neuropathy in my hands so can’t feel as well as most. Frequently in and out of a pocket, you loose it, especially with frozen fingers. The other drops were actually skitters across a car cockpit while I was driving and taking a hard corner, with the phone unsecured. Still, no drama… AND… you said it, ALL of that for half the price of the competitors (Mous). Patiently awaiting another one of these cases for my new 13 ProMax!

Never liked the designs for his cases, but the durability and and screen protector that is included for the cost has to be one of the best out there. Enjoy the videos you post btw!

This case took 3 drops from 50 ft in the air, without breaking, and cracked my screen protector multiple times from 4 ft drops on regular floor tiles...
On Rebel's instagram, a person said he broke his iPhone the day after he got the case. said he loves the design, but was sad his phone broke. WHAT?!?!?! So glad to see this review.

I finally got my crystal Rebel case for my 11 Pro after my RhinoShield bumper case reached its end of life and I decided that the new 12 could not fill the shoes of my 11 Pro, which continue to serve me well. I regret not getting this case sooner and at $20-$30, it is now a steal! I love/agree with your opinions but this is the first that I have to disagree. I get that the sides are asymmetric due to the camera bump conflicting with the design. However, after over a week of use, I'd rather live with the slight asymmetry to experience the maximum protection with a minimal feeling case, something that no other iPhone case can achieve thus far.
Lol wow I myself feel conflicted. Both you and Filip are the youtubers I started watching when I started watching youtube. I want the case to do well because I think Filip, who came from a really small small channel and worked his way up by working his tail off and making videos other people weren't making, deserves his success. I want him to do well. I also appreciate your honesty in your reviews, and you've also worked to get where you are. Lol I guess I just wish the case was better so the review could be better. Eh, I feel like he is just being hard on these cases because they took a long time to get to him. I agree the shipping issues at the beginning were pretty bad, but I have the Rebel and Clear cases for my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I love them. I feel like maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something. You can order them on eBay right now and the estimated delivery date is a week. The REAL issue is that he shouldn't have taken preorders so far in advance, but he's already admitted to that, so get over it. I mean you are complaining that there isn't an iPhone 12 case yet, but like are you just wanting it to go up for preorder before it's ready so you can complain about slow shipping again?
I mean you don’t make a phone case but that doesn’t mean you still aren’t trying to sell me something. Your videos are here to get me to buy something with your Amazon links. And your dog and amiability are just window dressing to make me trust you or feel better about supporting you. How many times in your videos do you remind us you’re just a reviewer and not an influencer do you think? So don’t act like you’re any different from anyone else trying to sell something to an audience. Hypocrisy and conflict of interest is ALWAYS a factor when dealing with online personalities.
I have a phone rebel and I dropped it by accident from around my waste and it shattered the whole back of my phone. I also have the frosted and it wears very quickly. Would not recommend
Aw bro noting about the iPhone is symmetrical; camera is on one side, there’s no large lip on the bottom bumper which empowers your home swipes and there’s an extra speaker hole on the bottom!
That's correct. As I said in the video, Apple has kept the iPhone symmetrical when the device is facing you which is where most people spend their attention. Most aren't aren't staring at the bottom cutouts for hours at a time.
I have this case for my XR and as much as I like it there are some downsides that I think can definitely be addressed in the next iteration of this case. Namely: I think the part where the side of the phone meets the back part of the case isn’t well designed. There are too many edges and it makes it very unpleasant for your fingers to go from a smooth aluminium to a rough edge. This is worsened by the screen protector albeit of high quality. My other main gripe is the weight. It seems to weigh about double what a normal case weighs which makes an already heavy phone even heavier. Now I get that the weight is a trade off for added protection but it really does make my phone feel like a brick
This video has sort of put me off of MRE tbh. EAP is a great channel and the PhoneRebel cases l are totally baller. To suggest that EAP isn’t capable of being objective is preposterous if you’ve ever watched them drop their own cases onto concrete from 50 feet, right alongside other cases! I think this reviewer is just miffed that EAP has at least 20X more subs to his UA-cam channel AND makes some of the best iPhone cases you can get. Oh but remember… MRE is a “reviewer” NOT an “influencer”. He only mentions it every five minutes lol. I do appreciate the “unbiased” reviews but it seems to me that MRE does have some kind of issue with EAP/PhoneRebel.

I ordered a Crystal iPhone 11 Pro case from Phone Rebel. What arrived was a case for a iPhone 11 Pro max. You haven't responded to two emails I send you about this mix up. This also happened to a Friend in Washington State would has a iPhone 11 Pro and received a iPhone 11 Pro Max. I can't recommend anybody buy a case from you because of these two reasons.
Is there a conflict of interest when you drop your iPhone 50ft in the air, onto concrete, and your phone doesn’t explode? Don’t we all just want a well crafted and durable case? Even if a case is received on time, it’s a WASTE of money if it can’t do the job. 🤷♂️ it is outrageous that you didn’t receive your product until now though, 100%. Great review btw! I’m surprised it was actually good (durability-wise). Aesthetically, it has much to be desired of course. Me personally, if I want to feel my phone, I take off the case. If I want protection, I put it back on. I personally just don’t like these kinds of cases that “protects well most of the time” (since most drops land on the corner) because I could just get a case that “protects well all of the time” (corners and rare occurrences when it hits the side or something).

I love Aaron when he disses Everything Apple Pro for being biased in his case reviews🤣🤣 But still love this channel and his!! Definitely the biggest strength of the Phone Rebel cases are the oversized protected corners and the naked iPhone feel on the sides.
You cant really blame philip here coz yeah you might call it an add but his channel is mainly based on apple leaks and news so i would say its fair for him yeah occasionally he does drop tests he doesn't review them they are just drop tests
I bought a Rebel case, put it on my phone and immediately regretted the purchase. Its extremely well built but I personally wondered why I bought it in the first place. Prefer using a Peel case.
I know he claims to be perfecting the cases and that’s why they’re taking so long but I will not bother getting on as I’m not waiting months for a case. If he can do a better job getting the cases in our hands then I’d consider. He seems like an honest guy who’s worked really hard on these cases

Designing a great case isn’t rocket science- make it really grippy on the edges that wraps around to the back with the back made of solid polycarbonate that is clear or solid colors. No puffy weird looking corners either. Minimal branding and no more than $20. Speck V-grip comes real close to case perfection. Make it grippy, that’s all. 🤷🏻♂️

It’s plain to see how reluctant you were to give this case a recommendation even tho it’s shown to be objectively good on many aspects and features you measures all cases by. I just thought you would be more objective and not let your personal distaste of the aesthetics give you hesitation to recommend an otherwise great case for the value. Tone of voice and body language matters too. You’ve given plenty of other positive sounding reviews with much more eagerness in the past. I personally think some of them look like hot garbage but that doesn’t mean they’re bad cases, it’s just a matter of personal style choice. Anyway I hope this feedback is helpful for making better reviews in the future whether you agree or disagree.
I’ve had one of the Gen 1 “Rebel” cases for 13 months, on my iPhone 11 ProMax.
I agree it took a looooong time to get it. But good things come to those that wait.
MULTIPLE 50’ drop test is pretty incredible.
I COMPLETELY disagree with your “symmetrical” issues. The phone itself, with a cluster of lenses in the upper left hand corner… IS asymmetrical.
The Rebel case has protection where you NEED IT. Corners, face and back. In a fall, the phone can’t hit on all at the same time and the most likely place is the corners. Sou put the emphasis on protection there and also the lenses, which protrude…
I understood the issues with the supplied stickers, so never installed them. After 13 months? NO scratches! The corners are doing their thing. The phone is HUGE, yet FEELS still like a “naked” phone. And still with excellent protection.
When I say “naked”… I carried this phone around for weeks with NO protection, while waiting for delivery. It’s slippery and nerve wracking to carry around naked. With the Rebel case, there are 4 grippy corners and the back, that give a “toe hold” and grip confidence.
Anyway, design wise, I was sold. I bought it. The startup was late on delivery. BUT! I have dropped this $1,500 phone (big memory) more than a dozen times to HARD pavement. Not from 50’… no. But from waist level, typical for most. The case itself and especially the phone, ARE PRISTINE. What else do you want? I did not drop it from lack of grip, I have neuropathy in my hands so can’t feel as well as most. Frequently in and out of a pocket, you loose it, especially with frozen fingers. The other drops were actually skitters across a car cockpit while I was driving and taking a hard corner, with the phone unsecured. Still, no drama…
AND… you said it, ALL of that for half the price of the competitors (Mous).
Patiently awaiting another one of these cases for my new 13 ProMax!

This case took 3 drops from 50 ft in the air, without breaking, and cracked my screen protector multiple times from 4 ft drops on regular floor tiles...
On Rebel's instagram, a person said he broke his iPhone the day after he got the case. said he loves the design, but was sad his phone broke. WHAT?!?!?!

I finally got my crystal Rebel case for my 11 Pro after my RhinoShield bumper case reached its end of life and I decided that the new 12 could not fill the shoes of my 11 Pro, which continue to serve me well. I regret not getting this case sooner and at $20-$30, it is now a steal!
I love/agree with your opinions but this is the first that I have to disagree. I get that the sides are asymmetric due to the camera bump conflicting with the design. However, after over a week of use, I'd rather live with the slight asymmetry to experience the maximum protection with a minimal feeling case, something that no other iPhone case can achieve thus far.
Lol wow I myself feel conflicted. Both you and Filip are the youtubers I started watching when I started watching youtube. I want the case to do well because I think Filip, who came from a really small small channel and worked his way up by working his tail off and making videos other people weren't making, deserves his success. I want him to do well. I also appreciate your honesty in your reviews, and you've also worked to get where you are. Lol I guess I just wish the case was better so the review could be better. Eh, I feel like he is just being hard on these cases because they took a long time to get to him. I agree the shipping issues at the beginning were pretty bad, but I have the Rebel and Clear cases for my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I love them. I feel like maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something. You can order them on eBay right now and the estimated delivery date is a week. The REAL issue is that he shouldn't have taken preorders so far in advance, but he's already admitted to that, so get over it. I mean you are complaining that there isn't an iPhone 12 case yet, but like are you just wanting it to go up for preorder before it's ready so you can complain about slow shipping again?

I have a phone rebel and I dropped it by accident from around my waste and it shattered the whole back of my phone. I also have the frosted and it wears very quickly. Would not recommend

Aw bro noting about the iPhone is symmetrical; camera is on one side, there’s no large lip on the bottom bumper which empowers your home swipes and there’s an extra speaker hole on the bottom!
That's correct. As I said in the video, Apple has kept the iPhone symmetrical when the device is facing you which is where most people spend their attention. Most aren't aren't staring at the bottom cutouts for hours at a time.

I have this case for my XR and as much as I like it there are some downsides that I think can definitely be addressed in the next iteration of this case. Namely:
I think the part where the side of the phone meets the back part of the case isn’t well designed. There are too many edges and it makes it very unpleasant for your fingers to go from a smooth aluminium to a rough edge. This is worsened by the screen protector albeit of high quality.
My other main gripe is the weight. It seems to weigh about double what a normal case weighs which makes an already heavy phone even heavier. Now I get that the weight is a trade off for added protection but it really does make my phone feel like a brick

This video has sort of put me off of MRE tbh. EAP is a great channel and the PhoneRebel cases l are totally baller. To suggest that EAP isn’t capable of being objective is preposterous if you’ve ever watched them drop their own cases onto concrete from 50 feet, right alongside other cases! I think this reviewer is just miffed that EAP has at least 20X more subs to his UA-cam channel AND makes some of the best iPhone cases you can get. Oh but remember… MRE is a “reviewer” NOT an “influencer”. He only mentions it every five minutes lol. I do appreciate the “unbiased” reviews but it seems to me that MRE does have some kind of issue with EAP/PhoneRebel.

I ordered a Crystal iPhone 11 Pro case from Phone Rebel. What arrived was a case for a iPhone 11 Pro max. You haven't responded to two emails I send you about this mix up. This also happened to a Friend in Washington State would has a iPhone 11 Pro and received a iPhone 11 Pro Max. I can't recommend anybody buy a case from you because of these two reasons.

I’m surprised it was actually good (durability-wise). Aesthetically, it has much to be desired of course. Me personally, if I want to feel my phone, I take off the case. If I want protection, I put it back on. I personally just don’t like these kinds of cases that “protects well most of the time” (since most drops land on the corner) because I could just get a case that “protects well all of the time” (corners and rare occurrences when it hits the side or something).

Definitely the biggest strength of the Phone Rebel cases are the oversized protected corners and the naked iPhone feel on the sides.

You cant really blame philip here coz yeah you might call it an add but his channel is mainly based on apple leaks and news so i would say its fair for him yeah occasionally he does drop tests he doesn't review them they are just drop tests

I bought a Rebel case, put it on my phone and immediately regretted the purchase. Its extremely well built but I personally wondered why I bought it in the first place. Prefer using a Peel case.

Designing a great case isn’t rocket science- make it really grippy on the edges that wraps around to the back with the back made of solid polycarbonate that is clear or solid colors. No puffy weird looking corners either. Minimal branding and no more than $20. Speck V-grip comes real close to case perfection. Make it grippy, that’s all. 🤷🏻♂️

EAP made the case he’d enjoy, not what others would enjoy. If you want drop protection....you get OtterBox, Mous, Catalyst, Rhino, etc...not this.
