Wiki-scription:
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was made in collaboration with fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, who provided material for the game's setting. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2022.
Elden Ring received critical acclaim, and is among the highest-reviewed games of 2022. Praise was directed at its open world design and gameplay, which was considered as an improvement to the Souls formula, though it received minor criticism for its technical issues on the PC version.
Elden Ring takes place in the realm of the Lands Between, sometime after the destruction of the titular Elden Ring and the scattering of its shards, the Great Runes. Once graced by the Ring and the Erdtree which symbolizes its presence, the realm is now ruled over by the demigod offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal, each possessing a shard of the Ring that corrupts and taints them with power. As Tarnished-exiles from the Lands Between who lost the Ring's grace and are summoned back after the Shattering, players must traverse the realm to ultimately find all the Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the Elden Lord.
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration; it features elements similar to those found in other games developed by FromSoftware, such as the Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that players start with a linear opening but eventually progress to freely explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the open world map. These main areas are interconnected through a central hub that players can access later in the game's progression-similar to Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls-and are explorable using the character's mount as the main mode of transport, although a fast travel system is an available option. Throughout the game, players encounter non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies alike, including the demigods who rule each main area and serves as the game's main bosses

Dave, excited: "Oooh! You can see inside the maw a little bit!"
Me: "Nope."
On Today's episode on Dave's tarnished adventure, he kills an old guy, helps a witch become a cosmic abomination, exposes the absurdity of UA-cam's practises, commits genocide against silicon-based life forms, meets another eldritch abomination of the writhing flesh kind and helps a religious man meets his sunflower-shaped friend
I see Miyazaki's grotesque imagination has no limits.
In this installment: Sellen strikes back, the Tarnished acquires some sweet Sorcerer Drip, arrives in Scream Town (seems appropriate for spooky season) to challenge the Putrid Crystalian Trio. Then after a an overdue subscriber shoutout, Scribe invades Old King Istvan, buys more ashes of war from Bernhal, delves into Altus Tunnel (where 2 more Crystalians lie in wait). But a truly nasty Giant Wormface patrols near a minor Erdtree. and finally our hero helps Brother Corhyn track down the elusive Goldmask.
Fun fact, the merchant on the bridge you talked to was playing Gehrman's theme on his instrument. You might have already known that, judging from how the in game audio was raised when you sat at the sight of grace after, but you didn't call attention to it so I think you may have forgot.
Sellen chooses to like and comment to tickle the youtube algorithm
I find it a bit odd that Goldmask didn’t explain why the worm face was wearing someone’s grandma’s tablecloth.
Unless it was so tragic he couldn’t bear to.
Hey Scribe. There has been lots of time between your uploads. Are you ok ? I'm a bit worried. I'm hoping it's good things taking of your time and not shit happening.
I was wondering the same, he used to upload almost daily, now it is barely monthly.
Add me to the list hoping everything is ok
Doing things that make the algo happy. Another great episode!

Look sometimes ya gotta dance it out!
i'm not sellen but how can i possibly say no to a sales pitch like that
Thus Sellen's questline comes to an end. TBH, having just recently beaten Elden Ring after beating all the bosses (save three), I feel the questlines in this game are one of the weakest areas of it.
They can be super buggy, incredibly obtuse (I permanently missed a boss fight / NPC invasion by progressing one questline too far before dealing with the invader, who only spawns in a specific area mind you), can punish the player for progressing the game too far (there are at least two questlines that I know do so without warning the player and one permanently closes after you meet a seemingly arbitrary and unrelated condition), and dependent on the questline/NPC we're talking about can be pretty unrewarding for going through all the headache to do them. It also doesn't help that half of the time you don't even run into NPCs or advance their quests for possibly hours upon hours at a time, so I honestly forget they even exist at moments. Given how the game launched with some questlines unfinished I'm guessing they were something that was being worked on later on in development and maybe didn't get fully fleshed out.
But, back to Sellen, personally, I'm with you on the matter of Sellen, I sympathize with her fate. However, ultimately given what we know of her methods are/were implied to be I ultimately cannot fully bring myself to empathize with her. Her actions both mentioned and implied seem to paint a fairly dismal picture.
Seluves seems to both know her and she owes him a favor, maybe something to do with the puppet in his basement. Given the kind of dude Selvuves is, that she would accept his help is fairly telling.
Equally telling is the fact that we have a fairly good idea of where or what Seluves uses to make his puppets, and Jerren seems to imply that Sellen transferring her soul to other bodies is not something new, she has done it before, likely quite a few times. There also is the question of if she is using other people's bodies to transfer her soul to new hosts, are they still alive when she does that, or are they already dead. And if the former is the case, what happens to the original conscious/soul of that body she steals?
I also think it is quite likely that Sellen may have tried the same trick with Rennala (or she thought that after you beat Rennala she was dead) but that it may not have worked. I also wonder if she willingly became the graven mage, or if Rennala, who as a reminder can rebirth creatures using her great rune, may have turned her into that as a sort of karmic punishment. If so then one possible theory I have is that all of the other faces may be the countless mages who may have fallen victim to her body-hopping shenanigans.
Also the Putrid Crystalians are here. And Oh Man do I Bloody HATE Crystalians. They are aside from the miners like the only enemies in the game that you have to use strike damage on, and unlike the miners they have a bunch of HP and resist/ are immune to magic (I forget which), so if you have something like Moonveil (which does magic damage) you can't sidestep the issue either. I generally used the morning star on them which alongside rocking a brass shield & uchigatana/Moonveil build I normally rocked worked well enough... Up until I found the putrid Crystlians and realized I hadn't upgraded the morning star since I only use the thing on the Crystalians and hadn't seen any in like the past 10-15 hours of gameplay.
Granted that didn't make the fight hard per se, no the guys are still relatively easy if you have a good bit of health, high immunity, a good bit of stamina, and a blunt weapon, but it did make it very tedious, and that's what frustrates me. They aren't hard enemies they just are VERY annoying ones, and not in a good way. They seemingly exist just to make matters tedious and as a "Gotcha" moment for anyone who doesn't have a good way to deal with them and I'm not a fan of that. The fact that they use them so infrequently that half of the time you forget they exist, thus forgetting to upgrade/make sure you can deal with them makes it all the more miserable when they do show up.
So what she became
Was that do to some instability or did someone else do that to her?
Yay
Tbh I don't necessarily mind ads
I just wish it wasn't a bunch of horror stuff which I don't understand why I am getting those
Actually I am so glad it's no longer the stupidly long stuff that I had glitches to where if I didn't skip the first add I couldn't skip the second stupidly long one
Those ads absolutely sucked
Okay that's some garbage on how ads work
That is just
Very gross that it's so little
hey scribe! do you play armored core 6? if you do, are you gonna upload your playthrough? still hoping you upload disco elysium
From what I can tell, the list of games to lp has gotten especially bloated these past couple years so it’s likely you won’t see them on this channel for some time if ever
