Texas is full of myths - so I decided I would try and disprove one. All it took was 69 days #ThatEnglishmaninTexas #Olipettigrew #Texas #Myth #Texans #Country #countryliving
I was at the hardware store/garden center in my tiny west Texas town and they were talking about how the first 12 days of January can predict each month of the year.
I was living in lufkin, Texas years ago, maybe in 2006, it snowed in April and in may of 2021, it was still in the 30’s in the high desert. Texas can definitely have crazy weather.
I don’t get that saying because 1) I’ve never heard it in my 25 years in Texas and 2) it simply does not ever freeze in April, period - that’s not a thing in Texas. Maybe she’s yanking your chain.
Up in the Abilene area of Texas, the biggest snows we've had in my life have all been around Easter weekend. These are generally due to a last cold rush just when we start getting moisture back from the Gulf. It *is* still pretty rare though!
In my 24 years of living in Texas I’ve never heard that saying but April in Texas will get some cool fronts which for Texans anything below 50°F or 10°C is Freezing and will have Texans making a pot of chili with some corn bread
In my entire 40 years as a native Texan I have never heard that saying before. She's definitely pullin' your leg lol
life long Texan here, Never heard that one before. Sounds like someone lied to your wife.

Watch May be miserable now. You jinxed us 😆
But it was living in your head rent free for 69 days, so who is the winner here?
All I ever heard was "don't plant your vegetable garden before Easter."

Been in central Texas for 73 years and I've never heard than.
Hysterical! 😂❤
Of course we know what egg cups are. We just don't see the point of another dirty dish.😁
Is there a month in Texas we don't have thunder?
