    We had similar in UK with lots of people going to country parks, beach etc first stage of lockdown, didn't help we've had 3 months of rain over winter, first nice weekend with some actual sun and we're all supposed to stay inside! Hopefully soon this nightmare will end! Stay safe.

    Difficult situation we’re living in but love the video. Great insight into cycling in Oro valley. Looks like a great place to live for people that like bikes.

    Loved the video! I miss Oro Valley/ Tucson. I fell in love with the desert. My wife's family used to live there and I would ride road or MTB every chance I got. I live in Houston Texas where it's very green with vegetation and Tall skyscrapers. Tucson was a lovely family trip with beautiful sunsets, desert scenery and Mt. Lemmon. Stay safe!

    Great info on pushing a workout to far, I finished tour of Watopia last night, #4 a make up stage, it was very hard on me being mostly an up hill effort and 18 miles long, will keep my rides flat for awhile. Keep the videos coming 👍🏻✌🏻

    Hey, I know Jack T. All these people we both know. Looking forward to one day meeting you when all this passes. It was very encouraging to see the bike shops flourishing during this time as people are looking to get out and do something versus sitting at home each and every day. Hopefully, see ya on Zwift one day. Thx for sharing!!! 🕊✨

      Ive tried Zwift and its is fantastic but I ended up outside most of the time and my setup just sat so I sold it. It’s hard to find days you must ride indoors here in AZ even the summer. If you get out at sunup its not to hot. Thanks for watching!

    I just started riding again after being off the bike for two months. I came off my bike in the rain in February at about 20 mph and broke the $#!t outta my left distal radius. I've kept my efforts moderate because 1, I don't want to go out and brutalize myself because I'm still trying to build my confidence back up and because the soft tissues in my wrist and hand are still healing, and 2, I don't want to get injured again and have to spend time in a hospital. The loss of fitness is a little depressing, but I'm not in a rush. Just enjoying my work commute and taking a longer route home. :)

    Absolutely right about hard rides putting your immune system at risk. BUT that's mostly short term effects. The safest would be to make sure you're nutritioned, warmed up and well rested after hard rides. Don't wait 2 hours after hard effort before you eat. Don't sleep less than 7-8 hours after you smash yourself for 4-5 hours etc. Once you're past that initial decrease in immunity (until you give your body energy/nutrition/rest) though, exercise, no matter how vigorous, has positive effect on your body and you become much more immune / resistant.

    getting a bike fit is way more important than a power meter

    • @CyclingVirgin
      @CyclingVirgin  4 роки тому

      For a new rider I would disagree. Yes getting your seat height and for aft set is a must but my definition of a fit (3-4hr process) is somewhat wasteful on a brand new rider. But great point and I should do a video on this subject.

    Bike industry needs a reset. Cannondale selling a mostly OEM System Six for $12,000 is just stupid. I bought a 2007 CAAD 9 full Dura Ace for $700 and would take it over the $12,000 bike with poor manufacturing tolerances any day.

    Hey man quick question, I’m a new rider I really want to get into racing! I’m 19 so I’m still pretty young and I was a 400m runner in high school and for some reason cycling just has taking my heart. I live in Peoria Az, What are some good races in az to get into. I got my race license and I just haven’t been able to find very many in the valley. I love your videos and I hope you can get back to me!

      Love to hear this! As of this moment as far as I know racing has stopped. But usually the Crit season kicks off early January and lasts into March. With road racing sprinkled in thought the year. Best thing to do is keep in eye on www.azcycling.org/ and when something goes live you can signup here swsportsreg.com/ . Hope this helps, be safe!

    Don't ride fasted if you are worried about your immune system ...
    And the Allez Sprint is far from being a "great value" bike.

    • @CyclingVirgin
      @CyclingVirgin  4 роки тому +3

      Interesting. I feel the overwhelming health benefits outweigh the possibility of a short term dip in your immune system while riding easy. Do you have a link to the information than it lowers your immune system while exercising I would like to learn more?

    CV: I still have yet to put together the cash for a power meter (slicking I know) what is your honest opinion on those airpod style meters? I have seen a few vids comparing data and they seem pretty close. Do you know is the discounted price of the airpods are worth it?
