Indeed, TMNT was a parody of Daredevil. What with the mutagen being the same thing that gave Daredevil his powers. Also, Stick became Splinter and The Hand became the Foot Clan.

As a lifelong TMNT fan, I can certainly vouch for that. Not to mention the writing style of the first issue was also meant to ape the style of Frank Miller, whose run of Daredevil they were specifically parodying. Then some toy company stumbled upon it, and they made a kid friendly version for a cartoon series to sell those action figures. That's the most famous iteration, leaving the original comic books underappreciated by the casual TMNT fans.

I suppose it's best you don't know about the PPG reboot, it's a bad thing. Sad that PPGZ(the anime) is better than the regular old reboot. They didn't bring ANY of the voice cast back(or at least not the important ones), I don't think they even offered them to come back for it.

It was inspired by old anime. Like Astroboy. PPG was literally just Astroboys plot without robots. Like how Megaman is just video game Astroboy.
In the original series, the PPG saved him from Mojo Jojo, who attempted to do something nefarious with him via time travel.
When he was a child, he was a delinquent, but after the PPG had saved him, he developed an obsession for his saviors. He wanted to recreate them, with science, which led to a stable time loop in which he created the creation that inspired him to create them.

When I was a kid, I got a giant kinder for Easter. Was a little bit bigger than the Powerpuff one I think. It had an RC car and remote control in it, was the coolest thing ever tbh!

It was more a parody of Frank Miller's work as a whole (though the creators were big fans of his). That's why the OG series started off in black and white a la Sin City, and the Foot being a parody of the Hand.

I more so just wanted to clarify that they didn't dislike Miller's work or anything. Which is probably why the series ended up being actually dark and serious in the comics, despite the original show an being obnoxiously kid friendly toy commercial.
Without Ms Bellum, it was crap. Let's face it there's not much else good in it, and it exists as a sort of guilty pleasure, a bit like Pinky and the brain - the original version, before they ruined it by bringing in new characters (will they never learn the lessons of scrappy doo?)

Miss Bellum was actually my role model growing up because she was so smart! Their teacher got nerf'd too when they took away her tittys. I honestly busted up laughing when I saw her redesign.
They just took away everything that made the PPG an important teaching tool.
The episode on feminism still sticks with me because it taught me that everyone is equal, despite what some crazy people think.
The whole series taught a lot of people about working together and how bullying can turn people into monsters (not literally, the paste kid still haunts my nightmares.)

I still have a GN reprint of the first three TNMT comics...colorized, and pretty grim. Not surprisingly, since they were directly lampooning Frank Miller's run on Daredevil, replete with ninjas.
Have to say, I would have really enjoyed seeing those Kinder eggs in my Easter basket as a child...well, except for the fact that they didn't have those sort of things in the US in the 60s. DID have five-pound solid chocolate Easter bunnies though, so there's that (and also, there's obesity and diabetes as well, but eh :))

I kinda feel like the power puff girls one is worth it, honestly. And it may just be horrifying amounts of nostalgia speaking, but it mimics the original art style perfectly and brings back many happy memories of Golden Age Cartoon Network. That alone is worth... what, $15 ish? I can't remember the exact exchange rate for pounds to dollars, but for a cute nostalgic desk thing it's not a bad price at all

Why do we watch Ashens?
You can read Start with Why by Simon Sinek. Basically the part of our brain that knows why, doesn't process language, so we literally can't put into words really WHY we watch Ashens. Simply put: it makes us feel good.
i must say i like the turtall's one as its more in line with its a toy in side.....
