I respect your opinion, but I really didn't like it. - They regressed Arthur's whole arc from the first movie, making the previois ending pointless - The songs added nothing to the story and were used more as filler - Harley was barely important to the plot and dumped Arthur at the end like some side hoe. That was embarrassing to watch - The only time Joker was being the joker we wanted was in his musical fantasies for like 2 minutes. Trailers were very deciving about that - There was nothing smart about Todd phillips "predicting" the audience reaction to the movie. Dude made one of the most successful comic book movies of all time, took the millions and then proceeded to repay the fans with a sequal that's literally a giant middle finger to all those who enjoyed the first one - The budget for this movie also doesn't make sense. 4 times the budget and I cant see any obvious technical improvements over the first one. - Why does the movie even exist? Arthur ends up at the exact same place that he started at the start of the movie and then gets shanked. Waste of time.
I'm one of the rare ones who also enjoyed it and cannot understand the hate. Yes, there were quite a few short musical numbers (which could've been cut down a bit) but I found it to be an interesting creative decision tbh. This movie was definitely more drama-led than thriller based, which again I was fine with. I felt that they nicely tied up a lot of strings from the first movie and it was interesting how everything seemed to come full circle. By the end, Joker almost found a sense of peace and acceptance in being Arthur Fleck. That acceptance that he had always been looking for from everyone else eventually came from within. Unfortunately though, history repeated itself, the public turned on him and it ultimately resulted in his demise. It's quite a complex, sad tale. Those complaining that we didn't see enough of Harleen (Gaga) - this movie would have stood as a great segue into a sequel of her story. Look at the bigger picture guys 🙄
"this movie is polarizing. With 2 sides screaming like children at each other" Critics: 3/10 People: 3/10 Wtf are you on about dude? Everybody agrees that the movie is really bad.
This whole weekend, my social media feed has been nothing but people arguing about this movie. That has been my experience online. Maybe you're not seeing that, but I am. I'm just reflecting on what I'm seeing. So chill out, my man.

I love the Frankenstein's monster comparison and totally agree
Commenting to say I am one of the few that also like this movie for all the reasons you’ve laid out.
