Shooting, even bad shooting, is a dealbreaker for most of my players! Good idea for an encounter, and a good lead for getting the players to assist in the evacuation of the other psions. I would have the system defense boat respond to the attack, and start burning for the gas giant. Put some pressure on the players to make up their mind.
If you're tracking the ship's payments, then the time lost scooping fuel is not always worth the savings on purchasing fuel from a depot. As time spent scooping and refining fuel is not spent moving paying freight, passengers, and speculative cargo. Using unrefined fuel increases maintenance costs, and increases mishap potential. Besides some of the best routine encounters (that can always take an off turn) happen at refueling stations, and their associated commercial services.
That was interesting. Not every party would think to negotiate with the opposition. This can add a new feel to situations and even change the dynamic of the game as a whole.
Now that was a class video - really interesting and certainly that "don't just murder hobo" would be something a lot of other game systems would benefit from :) well presented, a fun and interesting encounter. cheers mate:)
Cool bud! Geeze I got to start making more Traveller vids myself... I've had so many people saying they've heard but never played it... so few Traveller channels.
The scout can't even steal half of a far trader's cargo. seems like a stupid move. I think I would dive for the gas giant and try to "Wrath of Khan" them.

Sometimes it's nice to have players that don't just blow everything up when they encounter it!
Love it! More! Now!
This is an awesome encounter. Thanks for posting it!
Cool scenario
Good stuff

If we could, we tended to scoop, especially if the closest port had unrefined fuel anyway. Thanks for the comment!
@@gameon_ct It all depends on priorities.
@@michaelfoye1135 Agreed

Maybe a good traveller beginning episode where players can get a ship
Ok! Thanks!

Doesn't need it all dontcha know! Plus it is a stupid move! These people have no idea what they're doing! Maybe I didn't make that clear enough haha.
I never played this game, but you make it intriguing.
Traveller is up there with CoC as one of my (Justin) faves
I gotta play this, seems super fun
