I've always preferred a human-centric version of Traveller where humans do most of the work, but I loved the bounty-hunter droid in Star Wars. For my campaigns, high level robots are roughly human shaped for the practical purpose of being able to use human tools. Low level (and therefore cheaper) robots exist for task-specific shapes and uses.
Looks like a great addition to the library, and it covers a nice variety of campaign styles.

I don't mind the robot handbook. I wish there were more robots in the Traveller universe

I still have the old robot book for the original Traveller. Book #8, if I recall correctly. I don't believe it was a big seller, though. Nobody else I know who has old Traveller seems to own that one.

This has a kind of game break feel to it for me but I have always had robots in my games. Just very limited in scope. I have a steward robot in my current campaign. I have had a scenario where the experimental AI is rescued by the players by helping it download a copy of itself into a security K9 and then the players escape the facility with the K9. Then the K9 travels with the players.

This channel is always great. I'm definitely glad I subscribed a year ago.
If I could suggest a possible video or series of ad&d materials, the historic settings don't get a lot of attention, and they are on sale right now. My favorites are the roman and Celtics ones but mighty fortress, and the rest are pretty good.

Is there rules to play as a robot/android in mongoose traveller?

I can't think of any but I have allowed a few android PCs in my games.
