On one hand, DUH. He's basically saying, "if you want more depth, aim deeper." On the other hand, he's 100% right. I've been teaching for decades, and very few of my students lose because they're hitting the ball too hard and over the baseline; most lose because they hit the ball too short or even into the net. My verdict? Good tip. 🏆🏅🎾🎸💰
I see a lot of advice about how to direct the ball to do more of this and less of that. (Down the line instead of cross court, or vice-versa. Deep instead of short, or vice-versa.) What I don't see is, whatever kind of shot I'm trying to hit, how to reduce the random variation of the outcome. (I can use the techniques given to aim for a specific direction and depth, but when I do that fifty times there's still a very wide area in which the ball may touch down.) Yes, I realize that reducing random variability is more complex, as there are many different stroking flaws a player can have that introduce randomness. But this is no more complex a topic than asking, "What are the power leaks that prevent my serve from going fast?" -- Yet I see a lot of advice about _that_.
Very nice video, good target thought
Nice video, great drills !
Thank you Rui

Thanks Keith :)
Very interesting, for people who serve short, would you recommend the same ideas as you have outlined for groundstrokes?
Hey Chris, I would recommend aiming higher over the net.
Good advice
Great Clive - thanks

Rather than explaining on how to hit deep this video concentrated on how to calculate points.. lack of technical details on how to hit deep
