I remember my XP50. I never was able to master the sequencer no matter how hard I tried. It was just too damn convoluted and complicated and felt like you needed a Phd to understand how to do something seemingly so simple. Also there were only about 10-15 patches in the hundreds that I found honestly practical -- the grand piano, tone wheel, piano + strings, and a few pads and I had one of the expansion boards too (world sounds or something like that). Most of the orchestral instruments just sounded flat and not very close to the real thing. A ton of patches were not polyphonic. I also never used the floppy drive. It was the mid-90s though so it was a different technology back then. For what it was at the time it was a pretty respected keyboard. I think paid in the $1600 range. Technology and ease of use has move forward by light years. Now a $500 PSR from Yamaha can do 10x more than this could do!

      Thank you for your comment!
XP50's sequencer is difficult for me too. . . .
After that, the YAMAHA MOTIF sequencer was easy to use!
Of course, I am not currently using the XP50's sequencer... MIDI programming is done in the DAW on the PC.
Any Yamaha workstation sequencer is useful!
      Portatone is also useful!
As for the sounds of Roland synths from this era, I still have my favorite sounds!
I still like the sounds of the JV series for strings and pads!
I don't use XP sounds directly for the piano sounds, but I connect external synths via MIDI and play them!

Is this keyboard same like the Roland w30 can sample voices to play?

      Thank you for your comment!
Roland XP50 unfortunately does not have a sampling function like W30

How do you erase a track? Also how do you use the loop? Thank you!

      Thank you!
For looping, select the song you want to play, then press "Loop" at the top of the play switch to enter "Song Edit".
On the edit 5 screen, decide the range of measures to be repeated by "Loop". (eg start2~end5 etc.)
If you specify and play it, it will loop forever.
If you want to erase a specific part, target any part number with "Erase" from Song Edit!
For example, if you want to delete a piano, and the piano is in performance mode and stored on track 01, specify track 01.
"If you set the track to ALL, all parts will be deleted."
If you want to delete all the data of a specific part, specify from the first bar to the end of the data in the "Measure" setting.
      Sorry for my bad explanation!
