Reinterpreting "A Love Supreme" is a bold move. Any reinterpretation invites comparisons with Coltrane's masterpiece. Most artists wouldn't be able to pull it off. I'll have to listen to this reinterpretation a few times before I make up my mind.
jazz is art. it's more fliud than most music. there are no mistakes, only prefereces. if Glasper paints pictures you don't dig then that don't make his product less jazzy... . . he has picked some serious quality from the the jazz bag of time.

check out swedish band Prylf, not so comparable to glaspers music though but they dont care about what jazz classics they cover, they just go at it. i think its fresh thinking. to just throw yourself out there.....
V a l n s k y I have heard Bradford Marsalis do the tune. Winton Marsalis and this is the worst rendition of the master piece. For me these guys are trying to electrify some things that should just remain pure. They failed dismally. Other people do think differently which is cool
killing vibe, its a shame it associates itself with a love supreme, it does a love supreme no favours and the association does glaspers music no favours but makes it come across as cheaper. Coltranes masterpiece should be treated very carefully and thoughtfully and i dont think this does so.
Jazz' making history, again. So beautiful

Jazz is innovation , personally i think this is amazing.
Si John Coltrane lo escuchara, se levantaría y se sumaría a esta agrupación.
Cuando escuchas a Robert Glasper escuchas a un músico alucinante, estas en presencia de un fenómeno.

If you want I can try to do a guitar solo over this.
Then you will see how mistakes are made.
