This is really well written and the presentation is nice!!! However, I would recommend putting a hard limiter on your audio mix so everything stays at a consistent level and is more professional/easy to listen to. Otherwise, keep up the good work. Subbed!
I definitely second this! I limit my voice over at -3db and my background music at -30db, and increase the makeup gain as little as possible to meet your max output consistently. Any additional sound effects will go between those two levels, being closer to your voice level if it's very important, and closer to your bgm volume if it's less important 👍
Liked and subscribed. I'm familiar with Lovecraft type horror and the whole unknown multiverse thing but was surprised it showed up on BG3 via warlocks of certain sub classes and mind flayers. Always nice to see someone just sitting down, no obnoxious new era music or any music really. Just quietly explaining things. I listened to this as a podcast while cooking, crafting my own alchemist grade energy drink and getting ready to play some heavily modded Baldur's Gate 3 on PC, hero path. Keep it up. Underrated channels are a gem.
Two notes: 1-the mixing on the radio bit early on is making it tough to impossible to hear your VO. Doesn't feel intentional, so I'm letting you know. 2-allegedly lovecraft heavily regretted his hateful behavior near the end of his life. How much of this is rooted in fact and how much of it is pop culture's inability to reconcile loving the concept and the art but disliking the artist is up to the individual. For what it's worth, there's a letter where he levels some serious criticism at his young self for holding reactionary views.
I did want to get into that however the background on all that is much too long to fully discuss without making the video another 10 minutes and I wanted to keep this shorter as a first go. Lovecrafts life is very enigmatic and I plan to release a “the life of hp lovecraft” video in the near future in a digestible way for people new to him and his works.
People have said it before, but comments are good for the algorythm so I'll add my thoughts lol Neat video, gets quite engaging once you really get comfortable with speaking. The added images and clips are great too. (they do linger for a while tho, try to work on their timing a bit.) Some things could improve tho. Like the audio balancing is all over the place in the intro, and then the talking part is a bit low. You could also benefit from some background music during the yapping, tho that's up for preference. (If you do it tho, keep it very low volume, your voice should always be louder than it.) Besides all that, I actually kind of like the dark room aesthetic, makes it look like you're telling tales around a campfire. The lighting itself could still use some work tho, it's quite yellow lol Anyway, overall, good job! You have a lot of potential, hope to see you grow.
Always appreciate the feed back. I’ll try to diffuse the light next go so it comes off less yellow and more of the warm tone I was going for. And I’ll touch up the timing a bit on things like images. This is genuinely my first time doing something in this style and hearing everyone’s feed back for my notes is awesome. So thank you 🙏
I love this video a lot, it’s really what I’m looking for on UA-cam in regards to commentary on concepts that are a little niche and often times have horror themes. I will say I do think considering how small your channel is a community maybe via discord or a subreddit where we can come together and actually talk about videos, give feedback, etc etc in a way that isn’t limited to a comment section could be cool. Either way keep up the good work and have a good evening
Top of the list actually after my next 2 vids. I’m only focusing on certain gods tho for the first video. Bc mag is gonna need like 3 to go over it. Especially with protocol being released.
I see what you mean about this but IDK if I fully agree, although I will say that most analog horror pieces are in fact cosmic horror for sure but also I think that Analog Horror is less a genre and more a style tbh
I get its one of those things where its a balancing on Form vs Genre, I should have dove into the distinction more in this one ngl. But I wanted to keep things under 20 min 😅but yeah i should have drew a harder line in saying that its the evolution of Cosmic horror as a genre, and the analog aesthetic is the form it takes
I’m making an analog horror video/series that I want to drop soon, I want to send it to you to get your opinion on it tbh (I’m not trying to say make a video on it or anything I just want opinions) so you should put your email on your channel or something so viewers can submit stuff

Ppreciate the help y’all! I’ll keep this in mind for the next video!

I adore BG3. Awesome that you found your own comparisons to grab on to while listening. Hope the modded run is fun!

I may consider it honestly! Glad you enjoyed the content!
I would love to see you talk about the audio drama cosmic horror trope. My favorite is The Magnus Archives

Every time I think of hive mind Vita Carnis always comes to mind lol
Vita Carnis is so good and the implications of the Carnis are very very eldritch. Love it

@@Beh0ld1ng that’s real, I still think it’s a good video though honestly
This is a great take! Kudos to you man!
Thank you!
Cool video. you’ve earned yourself a sub
here before you’re famous 🖤🖤🖤
Very nice video. Try to go less bassy on your voice mixing for audio clarity and its perfect. Keep going, cant wait for the liminal horror video.
Can’t wait to get cracking on it! I have it mostly scripted and should have it out in the next few weeks!
Jack Black vibes, that's good
Surprisingly. Not the first person to have said this ngl
@@Beh0ld1ng i knew it. First thought was Jack Black's doppelganger/alternate lol. Just suscribed, keep up the good material !
your abiance is too loud while your dialog is too low it makes it difficult to understand you.
Yeahhh fixing that next video on liminal spaces
Loved the video. Hope the best for your channel. ❤
Thank you so much!!
Woahh i like the way you explain things (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ remember me when you're famous 🖤
Thank you! Always appreciate the kind words 🙏
im scares
Всего 2 просмотра за 11 часов не густо но удачи в развитии
Thank you. This is more about getting my ramblings out than anything even one view is quite nice lol
Disagree with your definition of cosmic horror, it's mostly about angry squidfaced dudes afaict
You right. But ppl ain’t ready for that conversation
