Well played, Eric! Milan is one of my favorite Renaissance composers. You took this at what felt like the right tempo and brought out emotion at the right points with your phrasing.
Thanks for listening! I would say the renaissance lute is comparable in difficulty to learning classical guitar. I've been playing it for a couple years now, but this summer I am being a bit more intentional about it. The left hand technique is virtually the same, but the right hand is challenging. My right hand technique is still very much in progress. I am also sorting out the issue what I want to do about fingernails. I much prefer the sound of the lute without nails, but having played guitar with nails for many decades, I don't want to give them up completely. First world problems, I suppose. 😀

I've actually had a lute for a few months now and I've been trying hard to embrace the thumb inside technique and everything. It's quite different than I expected but I really do like it. Been very busy lately so haven't been able to grab a recording - hopefully soon.
