He got a video on his channel that's just an hour of him running around the tank museum including being let loose in the vehicle preservation center which is normally a guided tour.
Can confirm same with the Leopard 2 and the Abrams except the Abrams needs some ammo with the crew unlike the Leopard but of course its ammo compartment failed and the fire spread to the crew compartment in recent news.@@Plastikdoom
@@mark679 yeah, it can happen, the thing is, we, the west in general and the US in particular try to fix and solve that problem, you can never make it to where it never happens, even if all unmanned vehicles, they will still blow up catastrophically, but it’s pretty rare when a modern, western tank does that, either you screwed up big time, they got very lucky, or they were very good, or your government screwed you and didn’t give you enough support of all kinds, along with any or all of the other options I’ve listed. When that happens is a doctrine, training, personnel issue (aka not enough support) even when they know should have more, but they can’t, or someone higher up screwed the pooch and you’re just the poor bastards that gotta pay for it. Name me one US ran M1 that has been catastrophically killed, none, yes we have had them knocked out, never had a turret fly off, even when under friendly fire of our own weapons, which in 91 are far better and more effective than 99.99% of weapons Russia has available.
Catastrophically killed? well Saudi ones ofc but theres no telling without putting depleted uranium armor abrams against a modern foreign atgm or apfsds but there has been videos of the ARAT-1 Era being blown up by a Kornet and the missile making it past the ARAT-1 and killing off the tank but not blowing it up as in only shrapnel on the inside.@@Plastikdoom
@@mark679 yep there isn’t, just saying even to this day no US M1 has been cat killed, and if I’m not mistaken except for friendly fire, we haven’t lost a tanker, not, to others friendly fire comes in from the rear or flanks. Or on top. I still maintain it’s the best and safest, overall tank ever made, at least our top of line versions that we don’t share, with anyone. Sire some have been knocked out, we’ve been using them for 40 something years, the initial design over 50 yrs old by now, name me one other tank that has served as long, and successfully and not catastrophically blown up all that much, and is still the MBT of choice of a nation, I’ll wait, as they don’t exist, as the premier and only one made and used. No one makes T-72’s anymore, which the M1’s counter part, sure they are still used, and blow up every time a semi modern weapon system looks at them. The only real threats to them, at AT infantry at the rear/flanks, weakness of every tank, air power and good arty, also weaknesses of every tank. Ever made, my point is, ours blow up, almost never and even when hit, in less than ideal conditions usually only results in a damaged/knocked out tank, mobility kill, and the crew survived, most times. And from the front, they are the closest thing to invincible that has ever been made. They can take their own gun and rounds at close range, from the front and survive and still be operational and used. RPGs and Russian 125mm from the front is a joke to them, does nothing but ding/mess up their paint, while we go through their tank at any range you can engage from, only thing that’ll stop our rounds, is their massive, shitty diesel engine after we kill all the crew of a Russian tank as the turret joins the Russian space program, and that’s a fact. Our frontal armor bounces their rounds off, we have driven through Soviet made mines in mine fields, with them, with no mine clearing, crew memebers were asking what the pops were that they were hearing, TC told them to not worry about it, haha. Didn’t even lose tracks to it, sure they had to be replaced later, the tracks that is, after the battle, but it got them through. Look up the battle of 73 easting, great stuff. And we’ve since made reactive armor and cage armor for the sole purpose of defeating modern rpgs and other systems for the sides of them, they are standardized and an inventory item now, can be put on any M1, for city fighting and areas that require the extra protection on the flanks, note we don’t cover the front as we don’t need it. Unlike Soviet tanks, and theirs can’t even stop a piddly little javelin, the smallest main AT weapon we have, haha. Granted a complete javelin and CLU probably costs more than a T-72but a man can carry a javelin, a man cannot carry the dead weight of Russian tanks.
My favorite tank, besides the M-60 line, has to be the Bob Semple tank…why some may ask. Because they tried…it was definitely one of the try’s to ever exist. That’s why and it’s adorable they basically made an FT-17 like 20 something years later, haha.
Either an error or just a blooper. me, the boss and Valk did a video recording and the audio was muted on the Old Man’s end the whole time Just a freak occurrence.
So their was a Challenger 2 in the 2003 invasion of Iraq which took an anti-tank missile and numarous RPG hits and it fell into a ditch, the British got the damn thing back into service and fighting in 72 hours, the Challenger might not be as swift as the Abrams but god its tough.
18:00 The thing I find interesting about the 'Reformers' concept of lots of small, cheap items beating down fewer, expensive items is that had already been tried. France went for the' Jeune Ecole' (probably mis-spelled) with their Navy. Swarms of torpedo boats would supposedly beat down incoming battleships. It didn't work back then either.
I wasn’t in training, still a kid, but I remember seeing that, and also a bit earlier when Baghdad bob was saying how secure and safe they were right during the start of the air war, and the US is broadcasting some stuff about it, always after it happened, but you see video of all the air and cruise missile strikes launched by the BB’s. And a reporter was talking about what was happening and Baghdad being bombed, and ol bob, is like no, it’s safe we shot down everything they sent, then this reporter is talking on her hotel balcony and a tomahawk goes screaming down the street basically the same height as her balcony and blows up one of saddam’s goverment buildings.
Best part is that if you listen carefully enough during Lazerpigs ending rant there, you can hear someone from the Tank Museom cracking and laughing in the background.
There is a youtube channel called A Tankers View and he has vidoes such as A Tankers View of the Leman Russ tank, a Tankers view of the Baneblade and others like that. Since you're into Warhammer, you might like to give some of his videos a look
And been to a few monster truck rallies, they are pretty cool, and definitely impressive for what they have achieved engineering wise and performance. Definitely entertaining. Only been to one that was my idea, the others was going with others who never been.
And while this a brief video with a little info about each tank. I get that, but he didn’t mention stuff about the M4, which I get, not the spirit of the video, but coulda been easily and quickly mentioned, not just cranes in the US for loading and unloading cranes in European ports and the biggest crane on liberty ships, so all they need was a good dock and they could load and unload themselves. Also the most reliable tank ever made, and it’s “weaker” armor, only like 1 point something to 2 mm less because of the slope than the others 100mm flat plate. And Sherman’s have won duels against tigers at long range, northern could get through each others armor at like 1000-1200 yds, so the Sherman went HE, and shot it so much the tiger crew died from injuries due to concussion of being hit and the 75mm going off against their armor. The tank was still operable, while it had many minor systems destroyed, it would drive and fight, but the crew died from explosions out side their armor. Plus all the reasons he said and many others, the M4 Sherman was hands the greatest tank ever made, historically. Anyone who wants more information on it and US vehicles in WWII, go check out The Chieftain, specifically his myths of American armor videos, there are a few, two of them are very similar, one is done live, at an event, the other is a recorded for this purpose type of video, the other is a talk about our TD’s but each god covers some of the other categories and how/why we did what we did and made what we made, and what went into it, fantastic group of videos. He’s also collaborated with gun Jesus (Ian) of forgotten weapons here on YT a few times, also great vids. I watch both regularly. I’m sure many of you guys watch one or both. At least at times. Laser pig is great though also.
LP isn't entirely correct here. Yes, the T-72 was a cheaper addition to the T-64 but the main soviet battle tank at the end was the T-80. All the front units in germany had T-80s and T-64s but no T-72s. Russia however invested a lot in upgrading the cheap T-72s. Befor ukraine the west never fought the "good" versions of the tank.
LOL...did not notice the first couple times I saw this video or other reactions to it...Lazerpig uses "regulated" instead of "relegated".
