    3:16 to answer their question a falafel is sort of like a Middle Eastern version of a hush puppy. It’s mostly comprised of using ground up chickpeas that have been fried and usually served by themselves or as a sandwich, using pita bread and filled with falafel, a cabbage slaw and usually a sauce space around either yogurt or tahini

    So, A few fun facts:
    The Men In Tights song is lightly based on the Jews In Space song from History of the World Part I.
    Mel Brook's famous line "It's good to be the king!" is also from History of the World Part I.
    The Patriot Missile system that had just been introduced was one of the first "smart" missiles deployed (although it was only used as an interceptor).
    The hangman was the same hangman from Blazing Saddles.
    The tights coming from eggs was because a popular brand of nylons sold back then (L'eggs) were packaged in plastic eggs.

    Apparently, the mole joke wasn't initially intensional. As with a lot of movies, the scenes were shot out of order, and the bathtub scene was fairly early. When the Sherrif asks if the mole was originally on the other side, it was a genuine 'did costuming screw up?' inquiery, but Mel Brooks liked the 'I have a MOLE?' response so much that he decided that the roaming mole would be an ongoing thing.

    Something interesting about the chastity belt and key is that it makes total sense. Robin and Marian's parents wanted them to get married as a political move, so they put her in the belt and spun her a story about her "one true love," while Robin's dad had the key the whole time. He was just supposed to wait until they were old enough to get married and then pass it to Robin.

    What I love about some of the gags in this movie is that foreign dubs of the film had replacement jokes for the ones that wouldn't make sense.
    That gag about Kevin Costner's Robin Hood not having an English accent for example:
    - German: "unlike other Robin Hoods, I do no cost the producers five million", the German word for "cost" is "kosten" which is pronounced similarly to Costner
    - French and Italian: "unlike other Robin Hoods, I do not dance with the wolves", a reference to the movie Dances with Wolves which Costner starred in
    - Quebec French: "unlike other Robin hoods, I wear tights", a jab at Costner's Robin Hood again
    - Hungarian: "unlike Kevin Costner, I have a shapely bottom", a jab at the nude scene in Costner's Robin Hood using a stunt double

      No, Boom misheard Ruff. Ruff said he only saw the Disney animated one. That one hasn´t got anything raacist. Stereotypes and innuendos at best. Boom likely meant the Kevin Costner one. Robin hood: Prince of Thieves is by Warner Bros, so not owned by Disney. There the ¨black man¨was always mistrusted in advance (plus a profecy to the witch she will be killed by one). But Azeem quickly gains respect by treating the woman in labour and Robin´s second in command. And the sheriff of Rottingham there...is his own warning.

    Boom's shirt is incorrect. The Big 3 are
    1) One Piece
    2) Naruto
    3) Bleach
    One Piece obviously being #1

    We are Men;
    Men in tights;
    We may look like sissies;
    but we rob from the rich;
    and give to the poor...
    We are men in tights;
    Tight Tights;
    But we never run from Fights...
    That is about all the song I remember of the top of my head... But this is my 2nd fave Mel Brooks movie.
    My fave of all is "Dracula Dead and loving it".
    Renfield you idiot; I can fly you can't.
    Yes master; I can fly you can't... fave scene of that movie.

    If I may, I’d like to nominate 3 Ninjas if you do a 90s marathon. That was my favorite movie as a kid. It’s probably not that good in hindsight but it’s pure 90s fun. I rented it so often when my local video store closed down they gave me the tape.

    You should check out the movie Redline from 2009. The sound design was awesome with each characters motifs being brought towards the front of the soundtrack depending on who is winning the race. They also utilized silence well.

    Time to get Merry with the Men because this is an extremely funny movie, so here are some fun facts
    - This isn’t the first time that Mel Brooks worked on a Robin Hood project when he worked on satirical spin on Robin Hood called “When Things Were Rotton”, & Mel Brooks wrote all of the original songs
    - Robin Hood is played by Cary Elwes but when Mel Brooks called him for the role Cary thought he was being pranked, but he was prefect in my opinion & like he said “unlike other Robin Hood’s I can speak with an English” was such a jab
    - Patrick Stewart wasn’t the first choice for King Richard was originally going to be played by Sean Connery since he has played that character before, but this time he would crossdress along with wanting a 1 million salary so he could donate to charities
    - When the Abbot (played by Dick Van Patten) was walking down then got annoyed by a man that said “Hey Abbot” is a reference to Abbott & Costello
    - Dom DeLuise may have been the mafia inspired Don Giovanni, but did you know his son David DeLuise was also in the movie as one of the villagers

    11:11 This is such a Blinkin you miss it (sorry).
    Robin puts his arm around Blinkin's shoulder, and when his hand taps Blinkin's shoulder, he turns to look who did it. 😀

    "Jay" was racist term in the late 1800s. When cars were invented, there were a lot of deaths as cars hit people walking in the streets, so there were serious discussions about banning cars. In an attempt to shift blame, the automotive industry blamed "jays" for the accidents, hence where "Jaywalking" came from.

    I’m looking forward to the Producers. I saw the remake first on cable, and thought it was really funny then found out there was an original by Mel Brooks. Oddly I found it not as funny as the remake, but that could be because I had already seen some of the jokes.
