There is a possibility that next year in Feb to March window or so, Australia might host SA for a 3 match test series. Should that series take place, it will probably be some great viewing. SA - AUS test series is truly one of the best competed test series among all the test playing countries. I have seen some great matches / series of SA - AUS since many years.

Smith is just unbelievable,bowlers wrecking havoc on batsmen on the other end and he's just chilling waiting for his half century. I remember in nagpur,when there was square turn on every ball,19 batsmen found it difficult to score more than 20,that man made a century on that pitch,that century was the most difficult century any batman would have made.
Terrific bowler. Unplayable when gets bit of help. Shows how tough SA pace attack in 2015-16 was when they had help they didn't allow even steve smith to score runs with tail.
Yeah they had a crappy series in 2015 - 2016 against India in India but performed well only in patches at times. Steyn out of the series was a huge blow for them. Morne Morkel and Kyle Abbott were quite good in bowling. They didn't really have a quality spinner except Imran Tahir. The worst part is their batting. But until then for close to a decade they were a fantastic touring test match side all over the world.

All those keepers would be first choice over Wade if they were playing today. There's a reason why Wade was nicknamed "Scissorhands" during his first stint as test wicketkeeper during (2012-13). His keeping got progressively worse during his second stint (2016-17) with numerous elementary blunders after he replaced Nevill, to the point where the national selectors got desperate and picked Tim Paine out of left field for the 2017/18 Ashes (despite not even being the regular wicketkeeper in the Tasmania side at the time) just so they could ditch Wade!

He’s kind of a unique bowler. Most whove had success with hitting the seam and accuracy are six inches taller than Vernon. It reminds me of kulasekera, he was rated one in the world but just looked like a medium pacer. There’s obviously a lot of subtle skill there.

The way he started his career if he has continued his career in same way he would have been better than Steyn he completed his 100 wickets in just 19 matches
So if he played the same way he would have achieved 400 wickets in 76 matches. Steyn achieved that same figures in 80 matches. But sustaining that same consistently over 80 matches is quite a difficult task. Vernon started off pretty well then ended with 224 wickets in 64 matches which is way off the level of Dale Steyn. Philander was good but Dale was in a league of his own.

For all you people who think Vernon is a solid also-ran: he took over 200 wickets at just 22.3 - significantly better average even than Steyn and Pollock, on par with Alan Donald and up there with the best of the 20th century WI bowlers. He ALSO averaged 24 with the bad - very handy. A seriously good cricketer. His career was held back by fitness issues and injuries - bit lazy in the gym if his coach, Smith, is to be believed.....
In 2019 ind vs aus series I missed the commentary of these legends like Ian healy, mark nicholas, michael slater, mark taylor...hope they will be there in the commentary team in the upcoming ind tour of aus.

It is still surreal and unbelievable that Shane Warne passed on unexpectedly barely a couple of years ago. His commentary work was incredible and magnificent. He was a great bowler also. One of the greatest players in cricket history.
