- It was a cricket match for the ages when South Africa's bowling superstars, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, and Morne Morkel, unleashed their magic in the 2012 1st Test against New Zealand. The game started with Philander, whose bowling was pure genius. He made the ball move in tricky ways, making life miserable for the New Zealand batsmen. Their wickets fell like dominos, thanks to Philander's skillful seam bowling. Steyn, known for his outswingers, was no less impressive. He swung the ball like an artist, confusing and frustrating the Kiwi batters. Catch after catch landed in the safe hands of the slip fielders, as Steyn's bowling wrecked havoc. Morkel was the bowler with serious pace and aggression. His thunderous bouncers were a real test of courage for the New Zealand players. They faced a relentless barrage of short-pitched deliveries, and it was no surprise that wickets tumbled. In what felt like a flash, New Zealand's batting lineup was in ruins, scoring just 45 runs. The cricket world was left stunned by the sheer dominance displayed by Philander, Steyn, and Morkel. This video is a chance to relive that historic day, celebrating the amazing talent of these three cricket legends. Their performance continues to inspire cricketers worldwide, reminding us all of the magic of the game.
NZ all out for 45
SA vs NZ 1st test
Dale steyn, Vernon philander, Morne Morkel destroyed NZ team
Dale steyn outswing bowling
Vernon Philander 5 wickets vs NZ
Bazball Destroyed
These 3 bowlers bowled out Australia, NZ and Pakistan for under 50 during this period, summer of 2011/12 to summer of 12/13. One of SA's best ever combos.
Wow great stats
@@abhishekchaube766 yeah quite a rare sort of achievement! Look those were all some spicy pitches, but nothing untoward.
Sl 43
Nz , Sa are quite different
Under 50 is india only one to get all out under 40 😅
0:38- Kane, get your ass back in the crease 😂
Philander tho. He made that seam talk pretty damn good. That's crazy skill
Right
@@chapmcchap2919 michael holding spoke that till his mouth was tired. Keep that seam up. As long as the pitch has something in it, the seam will show you
@@jolopones do you mean straight seam?
@@mov_23 yes
@@jolopones but here i can see that philander is not bowling with a straight seam will you please explain me
Philander was an incredible bowler. Rip up any top order on a seaming green top pitch.
Only on green surfaces. Average on flat decks
@@halna5602 why I said Seaming green
Relied heavily on conditions, got battered on anything flat. Wouldn’t call him incredible, but certainly a valuable asset for South Africa if the conditions were conducive.
I forgot just how good Philander was. What a performance.
Philander at his peak🔥🔥
Philander in SA pitches is as good as Anderson in England pitches. Underrated bowler
More like England conditions
@@BelligerentChad Exactly 😁
Philander was good in aus, eng,nz too. He struggled in asia.
wow what a bowling line up. philander, steyn and morkel in one match.
The days when spinners were not needed in South Africa.
Spinners are still not needed in. South African wickets for the test series....Bt noone raises any questions when team gets dismissed on these South African surfaces at regular basis.....Rank turners are the ones to be blamed every time...wow!!😏😏
@@ankanroy5131
Have you seen the opening game between Australia and South Africa from last year? There was no indication of soil, just grass, but they will not admit it. They hate asian pitches.
@@ankanroy5131that’s because the pitches are of good quality in South Africa and touring teams struggle to adapt to the pace and bounce unlike in India where the pitches are either lifeless with no chance for bowlers or way too spin friendly for any batsman to have a chance
@@RuanAntunes7Are u blind or what ?? How much of turn did u see in this ongoing India -England series so far?? If u want to play in the sub-continent,u got to learn playing spin, else don't come .... Moaning everytime is a worst habit...& We did watch how much of a beautiful track was prepared in capeTown this time around....The home team themselves are getting allout for 55..🤦🤦🤣🤣

It was a good era of SA Team.
1:52 💥
Great combination..
Philander name was wrecker in chief in all the under 50's scores of opponents bowling out beginning from Australia then Pakistan & NZ from 2011-14
That was one of the 2 games where McCullum won the toss and inexplicably chose against all expert opinion.
In this case he chose to bat on a wicket which had already proven to be beneficial to the bowlers early on in previous test matches.
Unbelievable toss decision.
Of course the bowlers still had to do the deed, and they were well equipped to do so, so no taking it away from them.
The 2015 ODI world cup final was another of those ultra-weird decisions to bat 1st even though the setting sun is an adverse factor for the team batting 1st, and bowling 2nd is harder as the ball doesn't swing or bounce well.
Philander was my fav❤❤
Vernon Philander was a beast!💥
brillant highlights
Vernon Philander is criminally underrated
But law-abiding citizens rate him highly.
I remember watching this... They were almost all out for under 30, vernon was on fire
Vernon philander 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looking at this team now, I didn't rate this team that great at the time, but my god looking back, this was a powerhouse team
Great seam attack
Lowest score 36runs in india team❤😢
Philander one bowler I thing involved in more occasions in getting opposition out within 100....he doesn't have the pace like stetn or morsel but his line and length is immaculate....
Morsel is tastier though.
During this period, as nearly bowled Australia out for the lowest test score, they were 21/9 but got to 47
Stein Gun, Philander Cigar, with Morkle Uncle 😎
Best bowling attack all time in test cricket 👏
In NZ's defense, pretty much all the recogized batsmen got absolute beauty's.
I watched the match live at the ground. Steyn was pacing on the boundary like a caged animal between overs. His bowling was a kind of cricket terrorism. There were so many jittery shots, plays and misses: the Kiwi players just wanted to get off strike.
Philander bowled a little slower and moved it less, so the Kiwi's didn't miss but nicked him instead... The wickets were teed up in one over and taken in the next.
No better bowler than Philander in these conditions for first 10 overs. Also the hobart test of 2016 bowling Aus at 84
No one is going to talk about the bad quality of pitches.
GOOD BOWLING
This African team is world no 1 of all time
Fine bowling

Maccullum's ball and his bazball both are same, don't resist for too long
Once SA was a very scary team
Philander ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Venomous philander
Venom Philander
wondering which south africa team is playing against new zealand now
1:47 Steyn 🤌☠️
This South African team was a nightmare
To think of all the fast bowlers South Africa has produced this guy had that thing about him to nip it out or in without too much pace on the ball
Philander at its best
45 Hitman for a reason
From his debut to the next 7 years Philander made Steyn and Morkel look like rookies.. Philander was taking 5 wicket in almost each inning for the next 4 years. He slowed down a bit after that but still would win matches on burst. No one came with in a touching distance of him during that time.
Plz everybody watch the kusal janith's match winning inning against this bowling attack ....
🔥🔥
Please upload Australia all out for 43
Without denying it was a fine bowling lesson on how to exploit a green wicket that Hobart test always has to have an asterisk against it because years later the saffers admitted that that's where they learned how to "scientifically" tamper the ball. It is part of the background to Sandpapergate, where Australia in SA tried to do the same but were stupidly blatant about it.
International teams getting out for scores like this is totally unacceptable. INDIA 36,NZ 47 AND SO ON.POINTS TOWARDS FIXING SAGA
What about India 36 v Australia
Nz will always struggle in Aus sa ind except in eng they survive because of similar conditions. Also there is no pressure to win compulsory in all conditions. Rugby still ruling in nz than cricket.
No.1 in test cricket for how long?
Shame on new Zealand 😅

Brownie, FLynn, Watling, Franklin and Bracewell. That’s supposed to be a test batting lineup? They won’t get into Mumbai’s Ranji Squad, so as good as Philander was, NZ had a pathetic batting lineup. Plus the Capetown pitch.
Watling was one of the most gritty batters and played numerous impactful knocks for the Kiwis... Rest of them are pretty average though when it comes to test cricket...
Even guptill was a walking wicket in tests. But watling was a good batsman. Agree with the others.
Phil ander morkel and steyn destroyed everything team
Ind runs 36. Pak run 49. Nz runs 45😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
And they won that series too 😂😂😂 bhikharistani can't even won single test match there even they can't draw 😂😂
Lowest score is 36 all out of India
I think 36™is the lowest score in test cricket
Nope. Lowest score is 26 by NZ (again!) vs England in 1955. Lowest score this century is 36 (India vs Australia in 2020). Lowest score in a first innings is also 36 (SA vs Australia 1932).
36 is still unbroken 😅
There have been six lower team innings in Test cricket - four of them by SA. Lowest of all is NZ (26 vs England in 1955). 36 is just the lowest this century and lowest ever for India.
Pakistan still can't win a test Series in South Africa and Australia India won 2 series in Australia And drew one Series in South Africa India is the only team unbeaten in home in tests in last 12 years India last series lost in india was in 2012 first series was in 2000 But Pakistan lost Against England in Pakistan 3-0 And lost Against SL and They drew the Series Against Nz Pak is the only test team to lose test series in Home Even Bangladesh won a test series Against England and Australia in their Home.
The lowest of India in test is 39 or 35
So, India lowest test score ever is 35

Doctored wickets
and then whine in India , Pakistan and Sri Lanka about spinning wickets
nothing special about the bowling, any professional bowler who played could have got those wickets,
The bounce on the wicket for a seamer is actually idiotic on this wicket, even a trundler who would have pitched it on right areas and seam would look lethal.
Cracks and lines visible on the pitch in first session, probable moisture also making it a bubble bounce.
This is the absolute DUMBEST sport. It makes zero sense.
