  • Hello Fellow Travelers,
Today I've got a special build for you. I've built a Pirate Galleon, The Interloper's Carapace, as part of my No Man's Sky base. It came out quite awesome!
The base is built on Planet Myrtle Beach. This planet is one of our Discord community planets, where travelers can build and easily share their base with other members of the discord. We'd love to see what you can put together on this beautiful planet. It has some really nice underwater fauna. So, whether you want to build your own great base on Myrtle Beach, visit this one, or just join a friendly group of gamers, then head on over to Lucy and Vlad's Gaming Emporium Discord and join the Fun!

The galleon was built in normal mode, and also has a companion Tropical Island city. Both the Galleon and the city were constructed as part of one base, so I'm extremely happy with how each turned out even though I reached the maximum uploadable build part limit. Thats 3000 base parts!
The Galleon Features everything you'd expect on a proper sailing ship. On the main deck you'll find some lofty sails helping the ship make its way across Myrtle Beach's vast oceans to plunder unsuspecting merchants and villages. Each is complete with a crow's nest for managing the sails and keeping an eye out for other profiteering vessels. There's also a great view from the steering deck!
Below the steering deck is the trade and travel quarters. This area will fill the crew's shopping needs and shore leave travel. This also leads to the entrance of a comfy captain's quarters, complete with a carting table, and the captain's personal lockbox for storing the top tier loot.
The first lower deck is equipped with some serious firepower with cannons facing either side of the ship. Cannon balls lie ready for loading and wreaking havoc on other vessels. This deck also stores most of the ship's cargo, so watch your head while things get loaded. Toward the back of this deck is the crew's quarters complete with sleeping cots, lockers, raiding weapons, and a seating area for enjoying a glass of Rum, or 5.
The lower deck is where the galleons true price awaits. The crew seems to have quite the green thumb with a lush crop of NipNip bud to really bring in the profit. Be careful not to sample the product. We wouldn't want any guests to find permanent residence in Davie Jones Locker.
This build did require some glitch building in certain areas. Wire glitching was used to create the sloping deck at the bow of the ship. I used the universal adjacency glitch to place my resized spark plugs as cannons as well as shrinking the spheres for cannon balls. More wire glitching was used to put items on walls or on their side where they typically wouldn't be placeable. The biggest contributor to the build success was using wire glitching to flip floors over 180 degrees to allow for roofs to be placed upside down to create the hull for the ship below the water.
Let me know what you think about the build down in the comments. Thank you for tuning in!
