Pretty much a dream shop. I'm working out in an unheated barn with a dirt floor. Jimbo is in business and this is an important part of that. I'm retired and really, just clowning around. It'd still be great to have a space like his.
I have been a fan of yours for years. Mainly because you are more of a working mans welder without all the fancy stuff. It is the exact opposite of Norm on the new yankee workshop( or something like that) every person I have ever talked to about that show, they saw the same thing . If I had a million dollars in tools ,I could do that. You on the other hand show the normal person that you don't have to have every Danm gadget and dodad to get out in the shop and do something. I am very fortunate that money is the biggest hurdle I have but health is the issue, but your videos get me energized to get going . If not for an hour or so. thanks for the information and inspiration.
Agree with Rattletrap2, very impressive space and layout that you have. I think you are 100% correct if one keeps up with the organization then it goes easier. But if you let it start getting away, then it is tough!
Hola sr.
I've been stealing a lot of your ideas in my shop. Currently I'm replicating that shelf under your table but it's going to be on wheels like a cart. Thought it would be easier to get stuff outta the middle of it that way. BTW I'm throwing a vote out for that HTP Pro Pulse to get a review. I'd love to see your thoughts on it and if it can MIG aluminum without a spool gun .Thanks for all the great ideas!
I have a 1 1/2 car garage, I know how it is to need space, t have a table saw miter saw, drill press, metal cut off saw, tool boxes, ridding lawnmower air compressor welding cart, welding table, wood and steel . I manage to have a 5 foot wide path in the center to work, everything is on wheels to accommodate my needs. Organization is the key!
I agree on the welding table need to be a minimum of half inch thick. Another thing I would say if you're going to have your welding table up against a wall to only have about 3 foot wide because you won't be able to reach the back anyway. I personally don't like the bars and the shelf at the bottom because you can't sit and weld with those bars there. My table has a bar in the middle. I've added a short piece of tubing to my welding bench that I use as a holster for my mig gun.
your garage is outstanding in the way you are organized is great a lot of people say a messy garage is the way to go butt I like your motto a clean ones better. thanks for all your tips and info of your garage. keep um coming...
That's an awesome layout Jimbo... And I agree with going thick on the top... Don't we all dream of the 4x8 1" thick welding table?!?!?! As of now I use a 2x2x 1/2" welding table because my shop space is limited. I just started my channel and if you have time would like you to check it out. I just installed a extended drain on my air compressor today and made a video of it. My next project for the compressor is going to be adding a hose reel and maybe even hard piping it in. I'm leaning to copper. What do you think about that compared to the black steel pipe? I've seen that black pipe rust inside and I don't want that getting into my air tools. Thanks for sharing this video. It's like I always say. Let's all learn from each other.
Thanks for watching, Ya that is pretty much what i were every day, Most of my video's are done with sock and sandals.Every once and a while i will were boots. Jimbos garage!
I've just moved to a central welding bench I've got to ask, what do you do with your welding leads? I find they clutter up the walkway I'm planning on making carts so that everything is self contained, but not sure if that is the best method Thanks for sharing your setup
And I thought you had a maid that came in every day an cleaned yer shop,LOL. nice job wish My shop looked like that, then I would'nt be able to find nuttin.
Great video, Jimbo! I love all your videos but the organisational ones are especially helpful. I have a question regarding metal dust/filings when cutting/grinding. Do you just let it go anywhere and everywhere, and deal with it when at clean up time? Or do you have a specific way of doing it to minimise mess? A designated area maybe?
Thanks for watching Anthony, Ya it pretty much go's everywhere, after i'm done working i sweep up what i can and then use a blower to blow out the rest, Jimbos garage!
Consult your production of welding platform size, table width, length, and the thickness of the plate is the number of millimeters? What is the height of the desktop?
I'm new to metal work. Can I weld with electric tools on the table top? Bench grinder because it's mounted, hand grinder, hand or table top drills. I'm worried about the current damaging them. Thanks
Hi, Mr. Jimbo How are you? I´d like to have a workshop iqual yours hahaha, But I don´t have one. Congratulations by workshop and Organization I´m your fan number one here in Brazil.
Did you buy those torch holders or did you make them. I was thinking about making one for my mig welding gun. I was thinking it would be a cool project to make.
i want to build a welding table, do you have some tips/ advice. i think the most difficult part for me to keep everything straight. thank you in advance. greetings, Lars from the netherlands.
Thanks for the video Jimbo but I have a question, why are you using "premium shop space" like right under your welding table for thinks you use every 5 years (some stick rods) ? Also do you have side support for your cut off saws ?
My friends feel I never do anything in my shop as they feel it's too clean and organized....wrong....I've always cleaned up at the end of the day and many times in the day tools are put back where they belong. It's just me and how it has to be.
Being organised is paramount, if i walk into a guys shop and he has shit everywhere, im out, no questions buddy, im outta there! I dont care what sort of reputation you have im gone.

I organize to the point of it becoming a hobby. You have a nice space there, well done.
Jimbo, you are quite the role model! I aspire to be even half as organized as you are. Great job!
Thanks Brian, Jimbo!

Thanks for watching Charles, Jimbos garage!
I built one of my welding tables the same size except I used 5/8 plate for the top. I get all these comments by people thinking I went to heavy duty.
Thanks for watching Ken, Ya i wish mine was 5/8''. Jimbo!
today I was tach welding some thinner material didn't reset the Hobart and blew a crater in it...
Great video, Jimbo! I love all your videos but the organisational ones are especially helpful. I have a question regarding metal dust/filings when cutting/grinding. Consult your production of welding platform size, table width, length, and the thickness of the plate is the number of millimeters? What is the height of the desktop?
i fucking love it no stress the next day clear head
Question? How do you keep all you're grinding dust down from not being all over your shop.
I know this is super old but I wanna know too lol
you don't use bar clamps while welding?
Hello Jim. What brand of stick welds do you use?
What’s the size of your garage? I have a 2 car garage and don’t look nothing like the size of shop you have.
I'm new to metal work. Can I weld with electric tools on the table top? Bench grinder because it's mounted, hand grinder, hand or table top drills. I'm worried about the current damaging them. Thanks
Hi, Mr. Jimbo

Great video as always but you didn't have a game on T.V.
Thanks for watching john, Ya what a surprise Lol, must have been between commercials! Jimbos garage!
Thanks for the video Jimbo but I have a question, why are you using "premium shop space" like right under your welding table for thinks you use every 5 years (some stick rods) ? Also do you have side support for your cut off saws ?
Thanks for watching, What works for me may not work for you, I like it the way it is. The cut of saw has it's own station. Jimbos garage!
Круто!!!👏👌👍👍👍
Where are your welding machines?
Thanks for watching Remi, That is another video! Jimbos garage!
My friends feel I never do anything in my shop as they feel it's too clean and organized....wrong....I've always cleaned up at the end of the day and many times in the day tools are put back where they belong. It's just me and how it has to be.
