  • This welding cart I made holds 9 pieces of welding equipment. I call it the ultimate welding cart because it is perfect for me. I know it might not be right for everyone but this is the best welding cart I could think of for my shop.

    I didn't have a plan on how to build a welding cart, I just wanted to have easy access to all of my welders. I got tired of having to wheel out smaller carts and move stuff around the get out the right machine so I thought why not put them all right where I need them. The big casters on this make this huge welding cart easy to move around my shop and now that everything is always plugged in I no longer have to plug and unplug machines. This cart also hold 4 bottles of gas, so it is easy to switch things around if I need. This welding cart is amazing and really happy I've finally got it built and being put to use. Some people have asked why I have some many welders, my biggest reason is that I don't want to waste time changing out wire and settings. It is much faster when working to turn on another machine vs switching everything out.

      Wear what you feel comfortable in. Flip flops aren't my first go to foot attire, but I like to wear old running shoes as I've never dropped extremely heavy steel on my foot nor will I as I don't work with such heavy steel the reason why I won't use flip flops is I'd be doing the chicken dance when running the angle grinder and sparks hitting my feet don't sound too comfortable and also the fact that steel shaving getting in between my foot and my Flip flop sounds like a disaster hehe, steel splinters are a nuisance in my hands already.

      I can't believe anyone would work in sandals! I don't wear sandals unless I'm at the beach! In fact I don't have a pair of sandals. I wear those water shoes or whatever they are called at the beach or on the river.

    Wish I had all the skills you demonstrated while building this welding cart. You are a true craftsman when working with metal fabrication and also have an understanding of industrial electricity. Cant describe how impressed I was watching you build this. I use to be a stick welder building bridge girders at a place called Atlas Machine and Iron Works in Gainesville Va. 50 years ago.

    Really like the cart, would be nice if you had spent a minute at the end of the film running round it with the camera when it was fully loaded. It looks really good but would be interested in seeing it in a bit more detail with the welders on it etc. Seeing the holders working as we saw you build them but not them in use. I know we will see the cart in future videos so maybe I am being fussy :) Great build.

    Awesome cart. You gave me some great ideas for my rolling welding table. Lol, we are typical welding fabricators, If big is good, bigger is better. Great Idea with the electrical box. Some people would think this cart is too big for a smaller garage but if you think about it, you have 10 machines on that cart. This really is a great space saver. GREAT JOB!!!!

      I just can't see having that many welders. Too big. I don't get it. Is this a case of OCD?? IS THERE A REASON FOR THIS MADNESS? I don't feel like watching it again but does he go places and do reviews on welders? It's definitely nice work but I feel I missed the main reason for this many welders on one cart.

    Great to see. Not too many welding cart builds on youtube so this is great for more ideas. It looks like, if you put this cart where the other 4 carts were, you will have even more room to spare. I'm sure, until you move or build a bigger shop, extra space is gold.

    You just gave me a really good (I think) idea for multiple bottles on the portable trolley.
    Use some 1", or similar, tubes running along the length and on that have some sliders, with thumblocks, with some "V"s welded to them for the upper and lower bottle 'seats'. The bottles can be held into the "V" with some chain or straps for security and, by having the "V"s on the sliders, the bottle positions can be adjusted for size or preferred locations.

  • @leecwilkin
    @leecwilkin 6 років тому +19

    very nice job, the only thing i would have done different is use chain to hold the bottles because when you change one bottle none of the other bottles are secured in place, but its a great looking welding cart :-)

    Considering how much welding you do - that's a great idea - you won't have to switch out so many things - and you'll be more efficient and have increased productivity. Clever! Jimbo - I really like your channel - I like how you narrate over the accelerated video playback and explain what you're doing. I really want to build a storage cabinet with lots of slots for all my tools - with an open front and that perforated sheet metal for all the sides and shelves. Your gas bottle trick gave me a good idea for how to create some doors, too. You did a very nice job on that cart - it's quite useful (and all your welders are still serviceable).
