The Steinhart Nav B Uhr line is great, you wont be disappointed. I have 2 and may be selling one of them.
New here. Atlantic Canada. Came via your Facebook post. I get most of my watches from AliExpress, Jomashop, etc. My only "pilot" is a Heimdallr "Flieger homage". I am a verified cheap watch collector. Trying hard not to hit 25 watches...I officially stopped at 20... bought an SKX007 from Jomashop today puts me at 23. Looking forward to more videos.

Great video John! You're a natural! Love the big Laco, but my 6.5-inch wrist would be overwhelmed unless I wore it outside my leather bomber jacket, like the flyers used to. I probably need a 38mm Laco, but when fliegers are so small they almost look like field watches. Looking forward to seeing more vids... hopefully your assistant will be available to help. Cheers!

Very interesting, subscribed. I always thought I preferred automatic over the classic windup (they just seemed more interesting with that additional complication of the inertial mechanism), but you've got me thinking that maybe my preference might change to windup.
I personally love the ETA 6498 hand wound watches are more intimate

Hi, just came upon your video. Am looking at making my first watch purchase. I have a long wish list, and fliegers are high on my priority list. I would have loved for you to have mentioned hacking (I think there are some which don't hack, and I find this disappointing), but can never keep them all straight. I need to get a spreadsheet going.

You’ll find that just about any newer watch will be capable of hacking and hand winding. Good luck on your search this is a huge part of the fun. Let me know if I can help you make a decision. First thing to consider is how much you would like to spend.

You can find Steinhart on gnomon watches too. I’m currently looking at the Stowa flieger classic 40 with the manual wind. I wish Laco has the exhibition case back. It’s awesome to look at that movement
Yes you are correct. I actually ordered some parts for my Ocean One Vintage. They are based out of Singapore 🇸🇬 if I remember correctly. I know that Laco has some exhibition case backs on some of their models. Stowa makes some very nice watches!
The Laco is one of the original manufacturers, so it's a "real" flieger, the sub second wasnot part of the original design and the Parnis hour hand is too long entirely missingthe point of the type b dial.
And I've ordered an Escapement time £80 type B which is the current good value leader.

Laco is great but I would only recommend the hand wind models in the classic case design with the straight lugs and closed case back with the specifications on the back.

@@gullie9004 more true to the original. Plus in my opinion looks much better then the standard type case found in most military type watches The Kempton @ 39mm is my favourite

Why do you prefer hand wind over automatic?
There is something magical having to interact on a daily bases. I love the simplicity and with that less chance of something going wrong. I think if you ever have a chance to wind a good mechanical watch you would understand.

For the lowest end watch, is the bezel curved inward ? Cannot see clearly
The underside of the bezel is turned inward so that it can clear the crown.

Other than lume & finishings, are there anything not good about the watch ?
@@goodlifebdg The watch is working perfectly. Nothing really bad to say about the watch other then the leather strap is very stiff, maybe after some time it should soften up . It’s a great movement that is very simple and reliable. At under $200 its fantastic. If interested I can sell you the one I have for $150 Canadian.
