Ok everyone, no friggon spoilers. If it is not answered in the show, then do not post 'corrections' because a lot of this stuff will be explained. And for Meesh & Dee, don't read your comments for the first few episodes. I saw people spoiling things for the other reaction channels. I love how they through in the joke of pike mistaking the acid and green dragon cuz so many people tend to do that. Even funnier with you guys talking about how u did the same at the beginning of the reaction

Yeah I was cracking up.
Umbrasyl was a black dragon btw. Black = Acid, Green = Poison, Blue = Lightning (Season 1), White = Ice ("Cold"), Red = Fire.
Though as was reversed by Raishan here and Allura last season, Thordak is a bit unique for a Red.
@@undeathghost5627 oh ya I know I'm not sure why I said acid for one and then green for the other when I was typing lol I know the dragon types which is why I always found it funny people think the green and the black are the same and found it even funnier that pike did the same. It's like critical role has been paying attention to people mixing them up and added a little joke.

YO! As a long time critter, I LOVE the intro music (Your Turn to Roll). It's from Campaign 2, my fave out of the 3, and hearing it made me all emotional.

To clear up confusion about the dragons:
Red breathe fire
White breathe ice
Black breathe acid
Green breathe poison
Blue breathe lightning
Umbracyl was a black dragon. There are also metallic dragons (gold, silver, bronze, etc). They usually breathe fire, and they’re usually more benevolent
I thought the metallic dragons corresponded with their chromatic counterparts:
Gold/Red = Fire
Silver/White = Ice
Copper/Black = Acid
Bronze/Blue = Lightning
The only one that doesn't have a corresponding counterpart is Green because it was established many editions ago that poison use is more villainous and metallic dragons are good. So Brass also got fire.
@@nosliwecBrass dragons also have sleep breath, which I guess is the closest you can get to a benevolent alternative to poison.
And gem dragons.

Love how Grog always got their back. Pyke's shield break? He's there to catch her. Percy jumps out the window to chase someone, Grog follows him no questions asked. He might be slow, but he's the type of guy you want beside you in those situations.

episode 1 of each season has lacked their intro... and yeah, Titmouse keeps getting better and better.
the "do you spice" is an easter egg - in the campaign, Captain Jarrett worked for Vox Machina and like Gilmore, came from Marquet. When they told him they were going to Ank'harel, he asked them to bring him back something called Fusaka, which Scanlan assumed was drugs.
Kiki did not take the destruction of Pyrah well, and her rage at Raishan is well earned.
Lets GOO!! This was such a great first episode, like the improvements are visible! I love that you guys were like dang Ripley, homegirl got a glow up! (facts!) I would love for you to react to Matt singing the Ruby song, it is sooo good, and it's like what can't this man do! He could easily play a bard!

Cassandra de Rolo is voiced by Esme Creed-Miles. She is the main character of the Amazon Prime series Hanna.
Mythcarver Ho has to be a reference to when Matt was a voice actor for the Thundercats animated series. The G from the shot Percy made was for Gilmore. Vorugal (the Ice Dragon) is voiced by Liam (Vax) so he was in a sense fighting himself.
I thought umbrasyl was green too, but black dragons breath weapon is acid. I've really been enjoying the reactions to critical role content, amongst all your other content of course. well done all around.
It's not a shield its a plate of heavy armor, Percy doesn't wear armor :p

13:48 yeah, in-universe I'm not sure why VM thought they could just dive in head-first against TWO ancient dragons, when they barely escaped one. I mean, at least they /had/ a backup plan, but it wasn't a good one IMO

Technically, the acid dragon Umbrasyl was a black dragon.
All I'm gonna say is, there's one more arc after we finish with the Chroma Conclave. It is my favourite and will be beyond epic. The finale of the campaign put to screen will be absolute perfection I cannot wait

Ripley looked the same in season 2, minus the cloak. She just wasn't present a lot and often had a hood on.
Non-spoiler clarification on some D&D mechanics:
Green dragons are the ones with poison spray, so Raishan is actually the only green dragon in the conclave. Umbrasyl was actually a black dragon, which is why he has the acid spray. I imagine they adjusted his color in the show so that he would be easier to animate detail-wise and so he wouldn't look like a blob 😅

There will be probably 1 or 2 seasons more after this. They are not in the end game by any stretch of the imagination. I'm anticipating 5 seasons total, maybe 6.
That depends on Amazon. Certainly if Amazon passed, Critical Role could release new seasons on their Beacon service, but those seasons would still need to be financed.
I honestly doubt this, at the pace they are going, which i think is perfect for a more compact tightened up telling of the story, they will likley have one more season after this becuase of [all that stuff that happens....].
Just because the campaign was increibly lengthy at this point in time doesnt meant theyll drag things out for the show too.
I've heard 5 seasons as the goal for this, but that will all depend on Amazon.

Red dragons: Fire - like Thordak
Blue dragons: Lightning - like Brimscythe who vox machina killed in episode 2 of season 1
White dragons: Ice - like Vorugal
Green dragons: Poison - like Raishan
Black dragons: Acid - like Umbrasyl

Anna Ripley grew so much as a character because of the animated series; it's the combination of the sultry voice and now the resourcelfulness of just using what's given or acquired as a means to what she can do. I don't do the shipping thing but I wouldn't be surprised if PercyXAnna existed.

And I’m pretty sure Vox Machina was green lit for season 5, along with Critical Roles second campaign, the Mighty Nein. And what’s also hopeful is that Amazon made a deal that any movies will come to Amazon first, so here’s to hoping that we EXU Calamity in the form of a movie
Re: the Vestige... pretty sure that's going to be Pike's, since she wears heavy plate armor and that's what that Vestige they're after is. It would be cool if Percy got to steal the magic cloak from Ripley, though.
It's crazy how many reacting to this think Percy should wear the PLATE ARMOR.
I mean Percy is know for his close in melee fighting style.
@@chand911 i mean, most people don't know D&D rules/mechanics/effects, so i can understand why they's think that. Also, it's just a breastplate so it wouldn't interfere with mobility too much (+2 DEX modifier cap). 😅
@@JamesSerapio It has nothing to do with D&D Rules and more the fact Pike is constantly clanking around in plate amor in this show. It's like thinking Grog should go the Bow despite Vex constantly waving it around.
