  • The Vancouver Canucks failed to finish off the series against the Nashville Predators in Game 5 falling 2-1 to the Preds. The Canucks are now heading back to the music city singing the blues with Game 6 looming on Friday. Despite some high-quality scoring chances, the team managed just nine shots over the final four 40 minutes of action and have now averaged just 18.4 shots a game in this series. We welcome Frank Seravalli and Frank Corrado to get their recaps of the game while looking ahead to Game 6.

    After watching it a bunch of times I agree it’s a 50/50.
What I don’t understand is how if he got the 50/50 recommendation he thought those were bad odds for him.
A loss on it puts a PP running at less then 10 percent that’s first shot on four attempts was that one adding o to that it would give Nashville a 5th power play to Vancouver ‘s 2 which almost guarantees the Canucks would have gotten a PP in that 3rd with how officials game manage . You also have the 3-1 series lead so it’s only Nashville that’s all in on the play as most likely if that call goes against them their bench sags.

I said the same thing after I listened to his comments, Zadorov thought refs were bad this game just wait until next game. Myers 2.0

Thanks for the video post , the Canucks are about top 10 regular season team , top 12 play off season team . Keeping this real , ask ourselves who can they really beat in a 7 game series. Nashville was the best match up they could have considering the roster. Its a Good building year for the Canucks . They need about 3-4 players with grit and edge who can generate 5 on 5 offense , create space for the higher paid soft players. Thanks

A 50/50 goal challenge is essentially worth 0.5 goals. If you lose the challenge (assuming 20% pp conversion) a penalty against essentially costs 0.2 goals. Seems worth it to challenge on a 50/50 goal call.

My concern with the play was Silovs never being in control of the puck. I think it would have been ruled a good goal. But then you watch the goal overturned in the Tampa series, and it leaves you not knowing what the rules are. NHL has a huge consistency problem.

@@FancouverCanucks Agreed... Predicting video reviews in the NHL is usually a crapshoot.
But I'm surprised when I hear coaches say it was a 50/50 call so they decided not to challenge.
