Repainting is a HUGE improvement. It's like someone turned on a really nice light in the room. Also glad that you are accommodating Winston's puppy impulses. Far too many people get rid of a pet before giving them time to learn how to be a good roommate.
Hey! Drew’s Mom and Dad , you rock. You both have given him support. Drew’s job is tough and he is doing great so far. Keep cheering for your son. He is the best.
Just goes to show that design has no limits or boundaries. Sometimes the space leads you to love something you didn't think you would ever consider. Love the refresh! It's got new life 🤍
Just shows that making a house a home never stops. There was so much I wanted done in my home when we purchased it and in retrospect I’m glad It took a while, living in a space and working on it little by little helps you be more in tune with what you actually love
Interesting! I remember sharing with you that I found the old white color to show off as green as well, when I used it. Yes to repainting! Never keep a color when it just doesn’t make you happy!!! I am still learning so much as well about how colors work in different spaces and with light etc. It’s not always as straight forward as you’d think!
I had my dining room painted in a lovely off-white called "fossil." Just like what happened here, there were green undertones that appeared toward the ceiling in the shadow, so it never really looked right. Repainting to a different shade was the best decision! Great job rethinking your space!
The living room looks so polished, so unified, the new paint highlights the gorgeous ceiling, window trim, etc., at the same time draws one in, it is a unified whole, all the piecesfit. And this is one of your strengths, to go back and rethink, redo a room. Way to be, Lone Fox!
I would bet that that new color is the "universal" color for all Spanish style LA houses! It always looks good, regardless of the name or the company. I call it pearl light butter, and it brings in light and warmth at the same time. Good for you for changing what doesn't work for you.
I like it! I liked the first look too, but I agree the lighter paint makes the room so much brighter. I really love the sofa in the room, I think the modern sofa gives the room an interesting contrast between old and new. I think the first look had more of a library feel, which is great, but now it does seem much more livable. Great refresh! ❤❤❤
Drew, this is beautiful and I love that you showed things that you changed as you went along - the dried flowers right over the candle make me so nervous, though - please stay safe!
I do like this so much better, b/c of the reasons you stated. I found the former elegant and tasteful, but lackluster b/c there wasn't enough contrast. The redo gives elegance and yet welcomes too. I think your household will enjoy hanging out there.
I just ordered a couple of items from your online store! I can't wait to get them and style them in my home! I'm just like a kid. I am so excited! I just watched your video. The new paint color looks Amazing! I love that couch in there, in brings the light color tone of the wall into the center of the room and grounds it. Great job painting to all of you! Thank you! 😊😋
Watched the first make-over of this room which was 'wow' but yeah, looking at it now, the walls defo needed brightening. What a perfect colour you chose, Drew. A bright yet warm white. The whole space has been uplifted and that Bouclé sofa sets it off beautifully. 'Perfect'...... Till next time??!!! 😉
Much as I love F & B’s Old White as a colour, the Dimity certainly suits your living room with its dark ceiling and floor, better. It looks beautiful, and so worth all the hard work involved. 👏
The walls are lovely, like fresh whipped butter! Flipping a knotted rug will shorten the rugs life. The tufts are what takes the foot wear and the knots have their own job. Your so creative and the treasures are always a trove of loveliness.
Gorgeous! What a huge difference it made. Also noticed you changed the placement of the TV. So easy to do when it’s on an easel. Thank you for always inspiring us!
Amazing how colour changes a space! Have you ever considered hidden up lights that can showcase that beautiful ceiling! Maybe add dimmable or colour changing globes to it so that you can have brighter daytime colours during the day and more moody ‘hygge’ lights at night. 🥰
So much brighter, so good!! I will say, I desperately want to see what the bookcases would look like deep red or burgundy. I think the white walls brightened the room enough that you could still make it work. Either way, it looks beautiful!
I do think it looks more open & bright, not so dim & drab. All your decor shows up much better or pops much better. A much more classy & welcoming space❤
BEAUTIFUL! You are so innately talented, Drew. And I love that you share design shifts and changes with us as you live in a space and realize what could be different or better.
Room looks so much better! Great color choice. One thing you need to add. The stain glass doors… there is a line of light showing through -on the left side more prominent. I would add door weather striping to it .. this will eliminate and light or outside breeze/heat/cold to seep into the space. Allowing it to be more energy efficient.
I generally don’t go for white walls, either, but sometimes they are exceptionally beautiful, like here. It’s always good to remind myself that there’s a time and place for every color. 😌
Drew, this living room looks 1,000x better now. The white wall color is perfect… a softer white that feels warm and welcoming. I’m a fan of the Boucle sofa, too. The half-round shape has positive Feng Shui energy as does the palette of neutral throw pillow cushions. Good choice on moving that gorgeous rug into the room! I’m so in love with the color scheme used by the carpet weaver! You’ve actually transformed this room into a fresh, contemporary space that feels relatable. Perhaps consider one thing: Adding screens behind the stained glass doors so you can open the room to sunshine and fresh air in the early evening. A gentle breeze 😅can be restorative. You might find yourselves having an aperitif on the balcony and letting Winston get some fresh air and smell to his heart’s content. I love your makeover, Drew! Well done!!!
The room looks so much brighter and fresh!!! Gorgeous!!! Love the curve of that sofa! I think you should keep that painting of the lady holding the heart, it just looks like it belongs in your beautiful house 😊
Wow! I love the brightness and additional contrast with the curtains and ceiling that the lighter paint brings!! Also it was so helpful to see your styling process, especially with the shelves!
Drew, I am always so impressed by your ability to make changes if you don’t really like/love your previous choices. Yes, it requires more work but it doesn’t stop you from fulfilling your happiness. 🤔 💡If only I would stop scrolling UA-cam, I too might get those changes accomplished 😁! Your living room looks fantastic and so much brighter 👍🏻.
That's a vast improvement, so bright and cosy too. The rug is perfect. Paint colours can look so different depending on the light coming in and if it's not right just repaint it. The glory of paint 😀😉
Like you, I love color on my walls and generally don’t like white or beige walls. However, this room was begging for this light, creamy color. Love the rug. Blessings!♥️
What a difference! Now it looks like it’s not just a beautiful room but one that is cozy. I would want to curl up on that couch, pull a random book off of the shelf and cuddle up with Winston on that amazing couch! In February, during a big storm up here in Nor Cal, we had a massive branch off of our 60 year old tree smash through our 1949 cottage roof and clear through the ceiling into our front living/dining room. When we moved in, it was painted a deep mustard gold with a Harlequin focus wall on the dining room side. It was beautiful but we had to have lights on even during the day! We raised the ceiling and painted it BM Manchester Tan. I wanted neutral because I am disabled with MS and am home almost full time. I get bored and change things and colors around each season. We were shocked how light filled the room is now. What and amazing difference changing a paint color can be!
Thank you for telling us when you don’t like something you’ve done, and also for showing when you repaint or change something. No one is perfect.
Part of what makes a great interior designer is being ok with redoing stuff! Ppl always think everyone gets it right on the first try.
But not liking something you did is not wrong though. It is just part of the process to create a better version of something.
Repainting is a HUGE improvement. It's like someone turned on a really nice light in the room.

Yes! 💯 agree. 🐶 Love the lightness the repainting brings.
@@onimendez7735 yes, you could see the massive improvement even after just a single coat.
OBSESSED I was at Drew's all week watching everything happen and soooooo much goes into making these room makeovers and videos. Loved it ❤Drew's mom
Hey! Drew’s Mom and Dad , you rock. You both have given him support. Drew’s job is tough and he is doing great so far. Keep cheering for your son. He is the best.
@@gregpendrey6711so sweet! Thanks for watching ❤
Lots of work these UTubers do. His videos are so interesting & well done.
@@GemmythebulldogHi, Drew’s mom, I think we’re nearly neighbors. I live in Golden Valley. 👋
@@rneustel388omg we are lol
Good decision. The curtains do look much nicer. The whole room has come to life.
Lighter, whiter walls = SO much better!
Just goes to show that design has no limits or boundaries. Sometimes the space leads you to love something you didn't think you would ever consider. Love the refresh! It's got new life 🤍

the reveal that this room wasn't just flat-out painted green was a genuine surprise.
This 30+ year designer LOVES this space! Best repurpose EVER… the TV on the painter’s easel! You have much to be proud of. Keep doing you!
Beautiful room. I am always changing my rooms. It makes me happy to change up a room. Love your style. ❤️ 15:35
I love the new paint color so much better! Everything pops now and the rug grounds everything in the room!
The lighter color looks so much better. It makes everything stand out beautifully. ♥
What a difference! It looks 100 times brighter and better ❤
I loved the room before and I love it again this way but this is a little more welcoming and has that lived in feeling.
I love the walls painted white. Then changing the furniture, the room doesn’t look so dark and heavy. It’s so beautiful as usual.
I had my dining room painted in a lovely off-white called "fossil." Just like what happened here, there were green undertones that appeared toward the ceiling in the shadow, so it never really looked right. Repainting to a different shade was the best decision! Great job rethinking your space!
Lighter and brighter helps to elevate one's mood! ❤
The room now looks so comfy and a liveable space. I love it.

That painting of the lady looks so like Marie.
It looks really GREAT Drew ❗️You are such a hard working young man...your work is so admirable ❗️💎😁👍
It looks really cozy and beautiful. Very welcoming.
The paint color is so much nicer. Great choice. ❤

I must admit, the new color really gives the room new life. Great decision.

Love, love, love it!!! You are the Einstein in decor. You always have a great visual, in making a place look so amazing. 🤩
A felt rug pad would make your rug lay smooth, protect your floors, add some cushiness, and extend the life of your rug
Looks so much better, you can see things you have displayed better! Love the color

The room is more inviting now. It is comfortable where before it pull my mood into darkness. I hope you are glad you repainted it.
I'm obsessed with this couch more in the living room so much perfect 🤌🏽
The rounded sofa really looks great amongst the strong straight lines of the ceiling etc.

Soooo much better. I always felt you had gone to vintage in this space but now it is brighter and has a great vibe. ❤
The room looks so much lighter and fresh!
