That and the special music that each part gets. This was one of my favorite boss battles because it was so well done (besides the part where you only need yellow Pikmin, but I was too little to figure that out.)
I can't believe that for each weapon, there's a separate theme that plays for each stage... That's why I want more games with the effort put into this one.

The story has come to a climax with finding Louie. The end is in sight. And then this nearly indestructible monster emerges, playing a discordant and ominous theme you've never heard before, and attacking you with a terrifying arsenal of actual weaponry that sends you scrambling to figure out what to do. Honestly, it's the most memorable boss I've ever faced, during my childhood or otherwise.

The weapons actually are a type of armor that protects titan dweevil, his skin is chrome because of the high defense he has from his weapons, once all of the weapons are removed he changed to vulnerable state, think of the weapons to be pieces of armor that gives the titan dweevil its defense and its chromy skin

I'd like to step into this debate about Louie and the Titan Dwevil. It is said that Dwevils take on the qualities of whatever they attach to themselves for protection. Usually Dwevils only attach one thing to themselves at once. This Dwevil had 5. It probably confused itself and made it go feral. Plus, the things it had attached to itself were deadly weapons. Also, note that when he ONLY has Louie attached to himself, he becomes a coward.

If you put down the shock therapeut and the flare cannon, you can fight with yellow and white. If you put down the toxic thing, FIGHT WITH ALL PIKMIN!!! I hope its helpful ;)
I hope Pikmin 4 has plot that's more than just "go save your planet/make it back to your planet with/without money." I want to see them use Louie being left behind again to their advantage.
One of my favourite games ever made, this boss made me think more carefully than ever, like play chess with a tarantula while I'm on fire.. Literally... When I can I'll give this a review and be sure to give it a spot on my top 10 list 😂
First time you beat the boss you think that you have saved Louie. Then you read the text that the ship says about Titan Dweevil. It says that possibly Louie hijacked Titan Dweevil, and was controlling it all along. Then, when you get the bonus video Louie's dark secret, its revealed that Louie ate all the golden pickpick (or something like that) carrots, and then you realise that Louie tried to kill Olimar and President so he would get away with it. Sneaky bastard!
I also just imagine that before the battle, Louie ate some of those bright mushroom and started tripping, then proceeded to take control of the dweevil and made it also flip the grid
There is a reason why the dungeon is called the Dream Den. It could very well be that Louie controls it without even knowing, and may just be controlling it with his dreams.
The game basically tells you he was controlling it, you see the ship even states "he hijacked a colossal insects Brain" or something along those lines, it is his MOTIVES that are the mystery...
I will never forget that helplessness and anger that watching him kill my pikmin with the flamethrower and the water bombs made me feel. That was recently with the ports of this game to Nintendo Switch, when I played it on Gamecube it made me feel terrified, it is an enemy that stands out a lot for the brutality of its attacks and that is very different from the rest of the enemies in the game, only sharing the characteristic of being an arachnid bug. Maybe we can compare it to that spider that had a machine gun, but easier to kill. You have to give credit to the old Nintendo that they didn't shake their hand with things that may seem "too much for the little ones", that they left something as memorable as this boss, or Luigi's Mansion for example, and the truth is, I'm just starting to despair for more of this type of content in the new Nintendo games. emperor bulblax ::good luck plasm wraith with metal suit Z:a fuzzy pushover plasm wraith without Metal suit Z :kinda hard Titan Dweevil:not skilled? you've already failed
I remember when I got to the Titan Dweevil getting the weapons off is a nightmare after getting them off he cant hurt you I had a lot of terrifying memories when fighting this boss
Fun fact: this is used in the Nintendo Land spinoff Pikmin Adventures including it’s weapon themes I believe it’s a 3 Parts Down remix The order is 3 Parts Down as usual Flare Cannon including intro Comedy Bomb Monster Pump Shock Therapist
Unlike some games, I find the Pikmin series boss fights to be very VERY Intimidating, Example: In the first game emperor bublax was not a boss you fought head on, you stopped and thought about the best approach to fight it, you legitimately felt afraid of this things power this theme capitalizes on this feeling, it makes you feel afraid of its colossal size and power. the way the song changes adds to the mood of this fight. you must save louie..
@DexManley0 But the titan dweevil is actually a docile creature, Louis was controlling it all along so noone would find out about him eating the golden pikpik carots. When all of the weapons are knocked off, he's harmless. And why would a harmless creature (albeit, fucking huge) know how to weild weapons, unless it was Louis who actually was wielding the Dweevil.
not sure why, but upon fighting it the Titan Dweevil only used the Monster Pump and Shock Therapist. lost almost 20 pikmin sitting on the sidelines to the pump because I didn't realize it had enough range to reach the exit
I still remember coming in with 100 pikmin in the dungeon and beating this guy with the EXACT amount of pikmin I needed to carry the last weapon back to the ship.
I've always been under the impression that the intensity of the song is analogous to the Titan Dweevil's mood. I mean, it's makes some sense, doesn't it? As the Dweevil loses more and more weapons, it would get madder and madder.
I see where you're coming from. But keep in mind from pikmin 2, dweevils sort of 'copy' what's above them. Lewie was unconscious above/on the titan dweevil, which means it was basically Lewie...
My favorite part is 1 part down, I think I know why. Perhaps because the majority of the fight is still ahead of us yet some weakness has been exposed.... The theme changes to reflect that perfectly
In terms of danger, there's really only one order: Shock Therapist - Threat: Highest - Kills all none yellows instantly Monster Pump - Threat: High - Can strike Pikmin outside the battle arena. Comedy Bomb - Threat: Moderate - Can only strike Pikmin in the arena. Flare Cannon - Threat: Low - Can only strike Pikmin near and in front of the Titan Dweevil. So really, despite having the creepy sounding theme, the Flare Cannon is no threat at all, even when malfunctioning.
@GameRaterAlpha Look at how big objects that are small to humans are to Olimar/Louie/Pikmin. If they're really that tiny, then a human would be Godzilla-sized to them. Nothing says humans completely died out, so if they were unfortunate enough to meet one, who happened to be unfriendly or think they were just pests...
I love how brutal feeling this bosses attacks are. Rather than a bunch of bugs and mollusks you go against flamethrowers and gas bombs.
That and the special music that each part gets. This was one of my favorite boss battles because it was so well done (besides the part where you only need yellow Pikmin, but I was too little to figure that out.)
when each weapon is about to be used, i feel like I can kinda hear 3,2,1 on a nearby speaker, just an imaginary idea
But it's kind a ruined by the fact that the Titan Dweevil is too easy.
And then theres the man-at-legs which straight up has a machine gun.
@@bigmanroadman3910 and even before that is the waterwraith, which is just how a druggie sees a steamroller

I believe it’s a 3 Parts Down remix
The order is
3 Parts Down as usual
Flare Cannon including intro
Comedy Bomb
Monster Pump
Shock Therapist
I bet that Its brother wants revenge even though it's normally a peaceful creature
...Wut
Unlike some games, I find the Pikmin series boss fights to be very VERY Intimidating, Example: In the first game emperor bublax was not a boss you fought head on, you stopped and thought about the best approach to fight it, you legitimately felt afraid of this things power this theme capitalizes on this feeling, it makes you feel afraid of its colossal size and power. the way the song changes adds to the mood of this fight. you must save louie..

hmm... not bad, this deserves more views.pretty good in fact
That makes the most sense, because if you take Louie but leave the weapons if you come back he will attack you still..
@DexManley0 But the titan dweevil is actually a docile creature, Louis was controlling it all along so noone would find out about him eating the golden pikpik carots. When all of the weapons are knocked off, he's harmless. And why would a harmless creature (albeit, fucking huge) know how to weild weapons, unless it was Louis who actually was wielding the Dweevil.
finally someone wiht a good sense for music :D
not sure why, but upon fighting it the Titan Dweevil only used the Monster Pump and Shock Therapist. lost almost 20 pikmin sitting on the sidelines to the pump because I didn't realize it had enough range to reach the exit
What is it with Pikmin and ABSOLUTELY EPIC MUSIC!?§?!?!?!
I mean geez, this is WAY too much! Way over the top!
AND I LOVE IT!
00:00 Battle Begins
01:50 1 part down
03:36 2 parts down (Favorite part)
05:27 3 parts down
07:19 Flare cannon (Terrifying ;_;)
07:56 Shock Therapist
08:17 Monster Pump
08:38 Comedy Bomb (2nd Favorite)
08:56 Save Louie
Phew...
3 parts down is where it gets VERY epic
The flare canon is Australia
I still remember coming in with 100 pikmin in the dungeon and beating this guy with the EXACT amount of pikmin I needed to carry the last weapon back to the ship.
It only suggests it. It's never plainly said "Louie was controlling it", but Olimar does suggest it as a possibility.
学校来て課題忘れた時のテーマ
I've always been under the impression that the intensity of the song is analogous to the Titan Dweevil's mood. I mean, it's makes some sense, doesn't it? As the Dweevil loses more and more weapons, it would get madder and madder.
I see where you're coming from. But keep in mind from pikmin 2, dweevils sort of 'copy' what's above them. Lewie was unconscious above/on the titan dweevil, which means it was basically Lewie...
ニンテンドーランドでアレンジされてるのに気づいて感動した
When I first fought this boss, I wondered was Louie controlling the Titan dweevil? Or was he actually asleep?
I was wondering when something like this was going to be made. Thanks!
My favorite part is 1 part down, I think I know why. Perhaps because the majority of the fight is still ahead of us yet some weakness has been exposed.... The theme changes to reflect that perfectly
In terms of danger, there's really only one order:
Shock Therapist - Threat: Highest - Kills all none yellows instantly
Monster Pump - Threat: High - Can strike Pikmin outside the battle arena.
This sounds so much better when you realize Louie is the final boss.
Plot Twist: Louie was controlling the Dweevil.
This theme then got turned into the boss theme from Nintendo Land’s Pikmin Adventure.
My fav part of the theme is 3 parts down
