@@gearfacts as harsh as it is, I too love all those vintage sounds good or bad, I have a huge collection of different keyboards myself, and love to experience sounds on all sorts of different boards, I found my PSR-3 in a bin all in one piece, I couldn’t just leave it in there so I took it home with me!
The sound of this keyboard is very very similar to the sound of the OST in the game "Monkey Island 2", which came out in 1991, so I'm fairly certain this was probably used
Just got mine :) I had one when I was just a little sh*t lmao and I missed the good times with it. Always loved Braham's Lullaby but couldn't remember the name.
i still use it in 2020 also where do you live your playlists are crazy as shit are you an alian bro? Also you make me want to throw my piano out, my mom walked into the room she thought i was talking to a spy you ruined my life im in trouble now.
Hi Anne, it's not really possible to improve the sound of the PSR-3 unfortunately. Yamaha didn't provide any way to adjust the sound on these older models.
Ótimo review! I've seen a comment here saying you can play the drum kit manualy, and it got me intrested since the snare sounds really fat. Did you perhaps end up checking if the drumkit is actually playable?
Hi there. Just wondering if anyone still has the song book that goes with this? Just pulled it out for my kids to use and would live them to learn the built in songs
This website offers it - hopefully for free - but I think you have to sign up for an account with them: pdfprodocs.vip/download/4687814-yamaha-psr-3-songbook
I have one of these but lost the book that had the music in and I’m looking to get a copy so my daughter can learn. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Tricky one. There might be a copy online if you search the model number followed by PDF. So Google "Yamaha PSR-3 PDF" and see if that gets any results.
Tried that it only comes up with the owners guide which I still have. I remember it being a blue and white landscape book with the chords on the front page and then the songs.
@@katywilliams1985 Ohh yes I remember that one. Wow haven't seen it in years. It might be easier just to borrow a good learner book from your school or get one from a music store. Actually, I once googled "Beginner sheet music' and sent to 'images' and found some pretty good things to print out, maybe that would help?
I have just pulled this out for my kids and we love it!!! I'm after the original song book as well to teach my kids the songs that are already on there. Would you know where to get one from? Thanks
Yep I recorded it through that socket. You can get a cheap recording interface to record it onto your computer. This Behringer interface I reviewed is cheap and excellent: ua-cam.com/video/f9CwfUdc4bU/v-deo.html
Hola! Tú sabes que modelo de órgano yamaha es el que suena acá? Dice el artista que es un sólo teclado y no es el de la foto ua-cam.com/video/9EDNwzcda4U/v-deo.html
These keyboards last forever! I have one since 1991 and still works!
Yes that's true, and I think it's a point worth noting. These things were built a little bit tougher back then, they could take a few hits. Gearfacts
i stilll have mine
I have this keyboard, yes you can play the drum kit manually, it is the last sound of the split section, the top keys has the drum sounds
Harsh early FM percussion - Love it!

I picked up one of these being given away for free in 2024. I love the first tone that's selected when you first turn it on. Instant 80s.
Absolute 80s, yes 👍
My parents just found this on their attic ... and my memories jumped back 30years.
Cool! Just ordered one for $30 online to toy around with for my kids! Can't wait!
Thanks for usefull info. Found one, my kids' days, in perfect shape. Just for fun, I'm on it!
Hard to resist isn't it! :)

Yeah I remember Monkey Island. 8 bit sound.
Can this also layer sounds by selecting two sounds at once like the PSR-7?
My first keyboard! The demo Song was Venus by Bananarama!
Yes! I think that song was taken from a 60's band.
I use it still in 2019 :D

Hi bro, I want to know if there's a cable or an adaptor for PC ( I want to connect the keyboard to my PC)
No, you're best bet is to buy an interface and microphone
Hello, can you make a video on how to enhance the sound or make it sound like a real piano on this specific keyboard?
Hi Anne, it's not really possible to improve the sound of the PSR-3 unfortunately. Yamaha didn't provide any way to adjust the sound on these older models.
Gearfacts Okay thank you for informing me!
thumbs up
very interesting
I wish you a nice week
best regards Frank
Cheers Frank :)

Yep that person was correct, you can manually play the drum kit.
Can you show me all the demo songs on this keyboard please.
Well, I've got four of them on this video (linked) and all of the rhythms. Hope that helps :) ua-cam.com/video/UQcvSQ2mVTM/v-deo.html
Gearfacts okay thanks
No sustain feature sadly.. I believe this one is better than the later model psr7 but that one had a sustain feature..
Yep, sustain adds a heck of a lot to a keyboard.
How would you recommend recording this on to GarageBand or another DAW?
Recording direct from the headphone socket is probably the best way.

Can i have a question? This Psr 3 has a built in sustain or not? Is this worth it to buy? Because i was thinking if i will buy this on online seller.

Yep I've got a few :) Gearfacts
could you send them to my mail? i_bon000@hotmail.com Tanks so much!
Sorry they are real books, not electronic. Do you mean you need the manual for this keyboard?
No thanks, i have the manual. What i wanted was the song that comes with the keyboard. Unfortunately i lost it in a move.

Por favor subirlo en español.
Lo siento, no puedo hablar español. Sin embargo, estoy feliz de responder preguntas, uso el traductor de Google :)
