Lonis, Cryptozoologist is pretty fun honestly. The tap ability is just kinda there, I use it as insurance against mass artifact/token removal. Otherwise it is a pretty standard artifact token deck
Xolotoyac is amazing his second ability doesn’t just count for the flood lands it is ANY permanent with a counter on it. The rule doesn’t specify flood counters so in a +1/+1 deck it get busted fast
For Doc Aurlock... Foretell is the one that plays on exile, if I remembered correctly. Simic deck that I still have and I think it's fun to play is Zimone, All-Questioning. I like the gameplay progress that I have to calculate how should I play to get enough lands to match the prime numbers, by both search lands, play lands in the graveyard and bounce land (or sacrifice lands). When you get token with 7, 11 ,13, 17 power every end step is a really good payoff.
As a simic die hard, you know it’s bad when your playgroup claims every one of your decks is just Simic in other colors. My favorite deck by far is Aesi, because you can build this really cool sea creatures deck built around cards like whelming wave. That said I agree that coma, (original) is disgusting especially in larger pods. (Pardon the aggressive auto-correct)
I agree with you. Aesi is phenomenal. I'm actually working on a deck with Aesi, and it's mostly merfolk/sea creature tribal with Whelming Wave being a good piece of the deck.
I too thought Radagast would be a fun build so I built it last year. The deck leans towards beasts more. Since he is a wizard who is in tune with nature, most of my interaction spells are turning opponent’s creatures into little frogs with no abilities which is hilarious. Definitely a fun deck which can be scary with alot of beasts/birds coming down hard in the end game (craterhoof of course is in there).
since you rank all the partner with commanders seperatly, you could make a seperate video after havign done all 2 color combinations ranking all partner with commanders, but actually with their partner
I’ve thought about doing that! Limiting it to two color pairs wouldn’t be that bad. I still think it would be a crap ton of combinations though Edit: Confirmed it would be a lot of combinations.
I have an Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief enchantress deck, it was formerly a mutate deck but I found the mechanic to be too weak. Whenever I take it out it becomes a convoluted mess that only I can understand, too many copies, too much card draw. For that reason I don't even play it anymore but I still make changes to it from time to time. I usually finished the game with a long ass turn where I drew almost my whole deck and put poison counters on everyone through Venerated Rotpriest shenanigans. Alaundo and precon Zimone have been on my radar for a while. Both seem very cool and powerful, Alaundo might be more difficult to build. I'm thinking on trying one of them.
Yeah that is my fear with Ivy. It just gets so complicated. I have toyed around with the idea of building a combat trick Ivy deck that uses green spells that put counters on things. Or keyword counters. Alaundo seems great with a ton of untappers since his ability removes time counters. So with the right combination of cards you can probably have some insane turns.
So I'm a hater of simic because imo it's commander on easy mode - ramp, card draw, combos, protection and counter spells are very strong in this format and the colour combination is probably the strongest. I've tried so many different simic decks and disliked them all. I recently built Bonny Pall which doesn't seem fun, but after play testing a few decks I was hooked. My deck focuses on removing the legendary rule to make as many Beau's as possible. The commander is quite powerful with the card draw attached, but the purpose of the deck requires a lot of perseverance and work to make it 'do the thing' which means it isn't as straightforwardly powerful. It's definitely one of my strongest decks but piecing things together makes it fun...
That is kind of how I feel about the older Simic commanders. I think some of the newer ones are more interesting. And I’d love to see a list! I enjoy hearing about the cards people thought were meh and ended up loving.

Jadzi is by far my favorite Simic commander. I found the back side by accident when building my Child of Alara deck and IMMEDIATELY put it together.
Just a note for Clement: it is return UP TO one. So it is effectively a may trigger.
Oh it is! Duh. Idk why I didn’t catch that. I played so much Bloomburrow limited too
Xolotoyac is amazing his second ability doesn’t just count for the flood lands it is ANY permanent with a counter on it. The rule doesn’t specify flood counters so in a +1/+1 deck it get busted fast
I totally missed that! Good point! :)

Oh that’s an amazing idea! Love that flavor so much. Holy cow! List?
Marcus is the most I've been interested in building a simic deck. Still on the fence though 😅

Jyoti is very fun
Where are Pir & Toothy ? Probably the best one
I didn’t include partner combos. They would probably be in fun tho
9:37 I think Doc Aurlock works even with adventure cards, as they get exiled after going on an Adventure.
He sure does! I knew I was forgetting some. Doc adventures could be fun!

As long as they are not running counter spells, or infinite combos simic is ok to play against…
Thats amazing, plus she's so cool looking and the Beau Token is hilarious
